Jackson Rathbone Producing Vancouver Band 'Bleeding Horse Express' album

This is an interesting artcile from a local paper. We have seen this band open for 100 Monkeys before and some of the band attend (and even join the monkeys on stage) various shows.

Jackson Rathbone wrapped up four days of work at the Warehouse studio on March 14. The 100 Monkeys vocalist–multi-instrumentalist and star of the Twilight movie franchise is busy producing Vancouver band the Bleeding Horse Express. He’ll mix and master their debut album at a super-secret location somewhere in town over the next few weeks on mobile gear he shipped up from L.A.

Rathbone first caught the Express—led by vocalist-guitarist Brad Damsgaard—when it and 100 Monkeys both played at a Neptoon Records in-store in April 2009. “It’s the style of music that I grew up on,” Rathbone told the Straight. “It’s southern rock. I’m always a little homesick when I’m outside of Texas or Louisiana, which is pretty much every day, so when I get to hear this kind of music, it just lifts my soul.”

This was the 2nd show by 100 Monkey's in Vancouver March 4, 2011. The first show was at Venue and Jackson was still filming Breaking Dawn in Squamish so he was late. The 4 guys put on a great show, but also did this 2nd show with Jackson later the same night.

ANYWAYS - The word for this second show was "Charlie Sheen" and it is effin' EPIC

Jackson Rathbone joins Creation's Official Twilight Convention 2011

100 Monkey's Vancouver - July 30, 2010

Let's get to the basics:

The Show Rocked! It was so good to have them back in Vancouver. I really loved seeing them again!!!

They played a ton of classic faves (ha classic, like from the last album and their singles) and some new stuff also so it was a good mix of stuff to hear.

There were 4 fedora's going around and 2 headbands... ha it's always strange seeing them come out on stage with dry, clean, flowing hair at the start, because they do some much running around between instruments by the end they are all a hot, sweaty, mess - the head bands and fedora's help ;)

At one point Jackson had 2 fedora's on and my friend Nat and I were making fun... I mean how many fedoras does one band need? ;)

THey all had tons of energy and were so interactive - like always!

They didn't play "Keep Awake" which I was upset about since they ALSO didn't play it last time - but there were plenty of other faves to keep me happy!

The traditional improv song was based on the word:

PLEASURE

I have to tell you, hearing Jackson sing "ooh my pleasure ooh" repeatedly was a PLEASURE for everyone I think.... seriously! Sexy!

It was a good crowd, though not sold out....

Mostly girls, a few men in the crowd and I think a couple were even straight!!!

Lot's of estrogen and screams as per usual but the funniest was at the very end of the show when Jackson went up to the mic and did this "squee" which was HILARIOUS but clearly imintating some of the girls there - hilariously cute!

What I really love about 100 Monkey's is not just their talent and the way they move around and trade instruments showcasing their multi-talented skills, and not just the high energy and interaction they provide their fans, but the facial expressions as they sing - ha!

Jackson gives those "come eff me" eyes and smiles with those dimples and it is amazing... Ben G grins that giant mouthed grin and it is awesome... Jerad smirks and it is cute.... You don't get too much from Ben who is mostly on drums or singing and Uncle Larry you can't even see his eyes to know if he is awake or just pounding those drums as he sleeps - I swear he could play in his sleep, he is so amazing!

But the expressions from Jerad, Jackson and Ben G are so animated - it draws you in.

You will see in my videos some of those sexy eyes and expressions I am talking about in case you haven't had the privvy to see them yet or if you somehow didn't notice what I am referring too.

Anyways, tonight was fantastic, great to see so may girlies I adore and rock out with some great music.

Tonight is 100 Monkey's Show in Vancouver - Live Tweets

Tonight 100 Monkey's return to Vancouver.

THe Show starts at 7pm but there are openers so likely 8 or 8:30 the boys will hit the stage.

100 Monkey's on Tour with new cd 'Alive and Kickin Part 1'

100 Monkeys announced the release of the first disc of a two-disc live CD titled "Live and Kickin' Part 1." The songs on the CD were recorded during the first-half of the band’s fan-picked 100 city tour. The band also announced the next leg of their 2010 tour which will take them through the far-western States and into BC, Canada, and back. “Live and Kickin’ Part 1” will be available July 19th, 2010, on all major download sources. Physical albums will be available on July 21st, 2010, at select record stores and on the band’s website at the Official 100 Monkeys Merchandise page.

The newly announced summer tour, which kicks off on July 20th, 2010, and runs through to August 6th, 2010, includes (in order) stops in: Hermosa Beach, CA; Phoenix, AZ; Las Vegas, NV; San Diego, CA; San Francisco, CA; Portland, OR; Seattle, WA; Vancouver, BC, Canada; Fresno, CA; Reno, NV; Sacramento, CA; and wraps up again in Los Angeles, CA. For more information on these dates check out the News and Shows section of the Official 100 Monkeys website.

100 Monkeys is comprised of Ben Graupner, Lawrence Abrams, Jerad Anderson, Ben Johnson and Jackson Rathbone (who appears in such movies as The Last Airbender, and the Twilight Saga).

The music of 100 Monkeys is impossible to pigeonhole. Their honest and catchy lyrics combined with the fusion of Rock, Jazz, Blues, Funk, and even borderline Country, creates a truly eclectic sound; one which the band has coined “onomatopoetic, but for the sake of simplicity, we'll call it funky rock-n-roll.”

Just as unique as the band’s sound, are their live performances, which feature their now patented “Monkey Switcheroo,” in which band members exchange instruments, often during a song. Additionally, fans attending live shows look forward to the nightly "Improv Song,” where the band takes title suggestions from the audience and turns it into a lyrical masterpiece.

Recently 100 Monkeys was featured in Rolling Stone as one of "Bamboozle 2010's Five Breakout Bands to Watch."

Jackson Rathbone and '100 Monkeys' will be playing at The Roxy Theatre (9009 Sunset Blvd., Hollywood, CA 90069), for the "Even Later Show" at 11:45pm, which coincidentally is right AFTER the premiere of Eclipse. Cast members from the Twilight Saga have been known to show up at 100 Monkeys events.
