Tippett Studio's discusses Breaking Dawn Special Effects including "the birth"

Collider talked to Tippet Studio's about the special effects in Breaking Dawn. This is the studio that brought us realistic wolves in New Moon and continues to bring the goods with the birth scene everyone is anxious to see....

While Tippett talked about working with director Bill Condon and how the film has over a thousand visual effects, Rosengrant talked about the Bella birth sequence and how they combined makeup effects on Kristen Stewart with CGI to make her look extra thin. Also, they’re using a “little bit of puppets and some hybrid effects. Hopefully we bring a realism to that sequence.”

Set Decorations at the Cottage

Today the set dressers were hard at work adding flowers and fine details to the cottage set for Breaking Dawn. Friends who had the day off work were out and about checking out various sets and took some photos of happenings.

Here are some photos sent to me of the set.

*Please if you use these photos leave tags in place and link back to here as source - thank-you*

I love the flowers. I am all about the details and set decorating and dressing is so interesting to me. I love seeing the props and "little extra's" that go into making a set so detailed and accurate.

What do you think about these photos? Excited yet?

Teenaged Renesmee Cast - Christie Burke

TwiCrackAddict's Lorabell (and my twi-buddy / Forks Roadtripping partner) posted info today on a teenaged Renesmee:
According to her representation, Performers Management in Vancouver Christie is 5'7, has hazel eyes, brown hair... and weighs 115lbs

Exciting News? We already know the Scenes to be shot so we can assume that indeed this young lady will get to frolick with Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black in the future - together - lucky lady!

Although this has not been officially announced by Summit, so stay tuned for that!

I am all sorts of squee with all this amazing Breaking Dawn News how about you?

New Breaking Dawn Set - The Cottage Photos

Today I discovered a new Breaking Dawn set...

Edward and Bella Cullen's cottage for them and Renesmee.

You can see the stone finishing, wooden shingles and plants climbing the walls.
*Please be respectful of my personal photos.
Leave tag and link back to me as the source if you use this photo.
 *click photos to enlarge*

It looked just about finished, besides some final touches such as foliage, flowers and whatnot. It was perfect. Nestled amongst trees with the stone walls and the square chimney. Looked just about ready for filming!

Here you can see the chimney which was described by Bella as a "beehive" fireplace in the corner.
*Please be respectful of my personal photos.
Leave tag and link back to me as the source if you use this photo.
Here is Bella's description from Breaking Dawn:

"I stared into the violet dark. There, nestled into a small clearing in the forest, was a tiny stone cottage, lavender gray in the light of the stars.
It belonged here so absolutely that it seemed as if it must have grown from the rock, a natural formation. Honeysuckle climbed up one wall like a lattice, winding all the way up and over the thick wooden shingles. Late summer roses bloomed in a handkerchief-sized garden under the dark, deep-set windows. There was a little path of flat stones, amethyst in the night that led up to the quaint arched wooden door."

Now if we could only see the interior? I wonder if they will filom the interior inside the actual cottage I discovered today or in studio? Perhaps they already filmed it in Baton Rouge Studio? I wonder... it certainly looked large enough to film inside, especially if the back side was open to allow wider angles for cameras. I am not sure as I didn't want to trespass to peak on the other side.

Here is the description from Breaking Dawn of the cottage interior:

The cottage room was something from a fairy tale. The floor was a crazy quilt of smooth, flat stones. The low ceiling had long exposed beams that someone as tall as Jacob would surely knock his head on. The walls were warm wood in some places, stone mosaics in others. The beehive fireplace in the corner held the remains of a slow flickering fire. It was driftwood burning there-the low flames were blue and green from the salt.
It was furnished in eclectic pieces, not one of them matching another, but harmonious just the same. One chair seemed vaguely medieval, while a low ottoman by the fire was more contemporary and the stocked book-shelf against the far window reminded me of movies set in Italy. Somehow each piece fit together with the others like a big three-dimensional puzzle. There were a few paintings on the walls that I recognized-some of my very favorites from the big house. Priceless originals, no doubt, but they seemed to belong here, too, like all the rest.

They even had bags and boxes of ferns and various foliage. This one was labelled "Ficus Sprays" which are a leafy plant.

It is clear Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn is ready to roll. All we need are some actors, which apparently are on their way also.... let the filming begin!

I will return to the set again before or after filming for more detailed photos if you would like?

*Please be respectful of my personal photos. Leave tag and link back to me as the source if you use any of these photos - Thank-you!

NEW PHOTOS - Bella's House decorated for Christmas

Today my twi-twit-buddy @depechemama popped by Bella's house and got some fantastic shots of the Christmas decor at Bella's House... how exciting!

At first I thought maybe they were using the house for another production (as they did after New Moon) but then I remembered that Bill Condon sent us that wonderful interior set photo of Christmas from Breaking Dawn and now I am fairly sure it is for Breaking Dawn.

With Baton Rouge filming wrapping recently and Bella's house completely up and decorated, it seems certain the cast and crew will arrive as planned in upcoming days.

This is exciting for local fans.

I won't be able to go to sets as often as I did during New Moon, but like Eclipse I will go out when I can and when I can't I will have friends pop by and share photos and stories of what is going on.

Bookmark http://www.mandysmind.com/ and check back often in upcoming weeks for all the Vancouver Breaking Dawn News, Photos and Set Reports.

Daddy Edward will play for his lil' half-vamp babygirl..... *le sigh*

Multiple Renesmee Actresses in Breaking Dawn

Why so many Renesmee's? What about consistency? What is going on?

Well Twilight Fans... here are some answers to how Renesmee will look in Breaking Dawn with multiple actresses....

Breaking Dawn's Renesmee will be played by 10-year-old actress Mackenzie Foy. She is Renesmee. However, she will also be played by three other young actresses -- Eliza Faria will play Renesmee at age 5, Rachel St. Gelais will play Renesmee at age 6, and Sierra Pitkin will play the oldest Renesmee -- but not the way you might think. After all, it wouldn't be much fun to watch a character whose face is completely different every time she ages in a flash.

So special effects artists that also worked on Avatar, behind the movie are going to superimpose Mackenzie Foy's face on the three other actresses' bodies in the scenes where she is at varying ages/sizes. The digital effects used will be similar to those used on Brad Pitt in the movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

This also means that there are more baby size Renesmees that have been cast, that we haven't heard of yet, to close the gap from birth to age 5. Or are we going from the birth to age 5 in a flash in Breaking Dawn? That is a little food for thought.

Age 5 Renesmee-Eliza Faria

Age 6 Renesmee-Rachel St. Gelais

Older Renesmee-Sierra Pitkin

But all will have Mackenzie Foy's face...

Update on Breaking Dawn Filming

Puzzle pieces come together through all the technology and communication. Twitter is especially telling... yay for the internet.

I am grateful also to the people who send me updates since I can not be in Louisiana myself.

This week had some filming in Baton Rouge after some weekend shots in New Orleans.

My friend went to Arsenal Park in Baton Rouge the other day to see filming (non-Edward/Bella shots) and I am awaiting some photos of that.

Additionally I am told Kristen & Rob had a couple days off this week (maybe since she shot over the weekend? also scheduled scenes without them as we know there were volturi in town)

Seems yesterday they did some shots with Kristen being ill....

Also this week there were some shots of the Happy family; Renesme, Edward and Bella together sharing family moments...

This is all so exciting...

I hope to have photos for you next week from Louisiana as well as some local stuff if I have time over the weekend

Isle of Esme Cottage Confirmed Set Location for Breaking Dawn Honeymoon

I posted on this possible location the other day but now it is confirmed!!!

Babymaking will happen in this house!!!

I don't think we will be receiving much information about the house since it's in utter seclusion and under extreme tight security. We can tell you however what has happened so far...

Reportedly, the original furniture of the house are being saved and protected and being
replaced with furniture that fit the description of the book by
Stephenie Meyer are being
put in place. Besides furniture, there is already
heavy equipment and three generators, two of them being at sea and one
in the house at the Isle Esme location.

Everyone involved with the film production, foreign and Brazilian, were summoned
to a meeting Saturday where they were informed that it will be
forbidden to bring cameras or cell phones to the filming. If anyone brings a recording device or gives the press information they will be dismissed and the person may be prosecuted.

Since yesterday a boat from the port is already located to support the security of the site.

To transport the actors Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson they will use a
helicopter to land on the nearby mansion, the pilot of motoring Xande
Negrao, which is located 5 minutes by boat as reported earlier.

Breaking Dawn Casting Gossip

There are a lot of rumours floating around regarding Breaking Dawn Casting... Remember until Summit announces it officially, it's all gossip... some more reliable than others. Nonetheless here is the latest.... Irina and Renesmee......

Deadline Reports:

Maggie Grace will play a new vampire threat to Kristen Stewart's Bella in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. Grace, who played Liam Neeson's in-distress daughter in Taken, will play the role of Irina in the final installments of the Stephenie Meyer novel, which director Bill Condon is directing in two separate films.

EW Reports:

9-year old Mackenzie Foy is inches away from signing on to play Renesmee, Edward and Bella’s vampire/human love child that’s a central role in the final installment of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

It’s not yet clear how the diminutive actress, who’s appeared in one episode each of television shows FlashForward and ‘Til Death, will portray the character who ages a full 17 years in only seven. Sources have suggested that director Bill Condon will employ similar digital effects to those used by David Fincher in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, where Foy’s face would be digitally transferred onto the face of a younger child. It’s also probable that the studio will hire a younger child in some capacity, too.

Renesmee Auditions

Ryan Robbins is from Vancouver BC and he plays Henry Foss in Sanctuary. I find it especially interesting that the auditionee is from Vancouver. I think those rumours or "mostly Louisiana" are in deed false. October - December then Jan onward here... I am not saying it is impossoble to fly a Vancouver actor to Louisiana, it just seems... I dunno... *shurgs*

Go Vancouver!

Summit clears up Breaking Dawn and Eclipse Current Rumours

This is from Twilight Lexicon:

We received official confirmation from Summit regarding the recent Breaking Dawn Rumors:

  • There is only one casting director working on THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN films right now – Deborah Zane. As of right now no local auditions are being held. If Deborah’s name is not attached to it in some form or another, it is not legitimate. She is also not putting out nationwide casting notices. Once again – as was the case with NEW MOON and ECLIPSE – any ads you see are completely false. She has set up an e-mail address specifically for casting inquiries (BreakingDawnCast@gmail.com). We ask you please spread this news to your readers, as we don’t want them getting taken advantage of by casting scams!
  • Lexicon touched base regarding a rumor about Renesmee’s name changing in BREAKING DAWN. I cleared it up with them, but let me tell you as well – it is FALSE.
  • Amanda (Twi Examiner) asked about Riley’s appearance in BREAKING DAWN because it was listed on Xavier’s IMDb page. I already told her, but in case you did not see her post, Riley will not appear in the BREAKING DAWN films. It is a rumor
  • Also not confirmed is anything you have heard about the US release date of the ECLIPSE DVD. We have not announced it yet, so unless it is international and confirmed by an international distributor, it is a rumor

Mandy's Mind - This is mostly common sense! First, even that gmail address seems like a scam to me - as if they will put a GMAIL account as an email WTF? Of course 99% of audition ads are scams anyways, Twilight is just worse because of its popularity. Next, IMDB is self-edited... ANYONE with an account can log in and write anything about anymovie, actor etc. Twilight Lexicon does an ENTIRE presentation on this at the Official Twilight Conventions!!! Bottom Line, DO NOT BELIEVE IMDB as a source... I hadn't even heard of Renesmee's name change rumours (then again I have been at this workshop for three days) but common sense says they won't change things like that (ok - volvo aside ha ha!!!)

Lesson of the day - DO NOT BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ ON THE INTERNET!

    My fear for Renesmee

I was watching few minutes of Jimmy Kimmel when I saw these creepy talking babies...

....and all I could think of was how a CGI baby COULD look [yes Breaking Dawn wouldn't have something this horrific I know - it's funny though eh?]

.... and thinking about Kristen Stewarts comment about Renesmee...

“Little Renesmee, she’s got to be cute,” said the actress. “She can’t just be this scary superhuman teeth baby!
