#hairforhazel Shailene chops her hair for #TFIOS

Shailene Woodley's shorter hair: Via twitter

Divergent star, Shailene Woodley, chopped her locks for an upcoming role in 'The Fault in our Stars'.

This is something near and dear to my heart. My daughter, who is currently ten years old. Has chopped and donated her hair twice already.

It started when she came with me one day to donate blood. She asked a lot of questions about why I did it and saw drawings on thank-you cards from sick kids and asked if she could help. I explained she was too young to donate blood, but that she could when she was older if she wanted.

A few months later, she asked about donating her hair. I don't know where she learned of this opportunity, but she wante

d to do it and so we went to the hair salon and chopped her hair. It grew pretty quickly and two years later, she donated it again, cutting it even shorter to ensure there was enough length to donate.

As a mother, I couldn't be more proud of her and I am excited at the publicity currently surrounding #hairforhazel

My daughter in 2010 and 2012 when she chopped her hair to donate. It's already grown to shoulder length again now.

November Twi-Trip

November is going to be absolute insanity. I have likely bitten off more than I can chew, but that tends to be how I roll!

I am drowning at work right now, not only is it the busiest time of year for me, my daughter has been sick, I am planning a trip next month and I just feel like I am going crazy... that is why the bloggy has been lacking...

I apologize! Real Life sometimes creeps in and kicks my butt!

More... So Basically the next week is absolutely nuts. Then after next weekend, I have less than a week, in fact, 3 or so days, to get packed and prepared for my trip.

Here is my plan (tentative and still working out kinks)

-Wednesday Nov 2 - Drive to Seattle and Fly to Cali

-Thursday Nov 3 - Check out Grauman's Theatre where a certain trio are getting their hand prints done in the cement.

-Check into hotel and hopefully relax, unless I have tix to a talk show, I applied for a few ha ha

-Friday 4th - Sunday6th is the Convention, Saturday the BIG day with a certain trio on stage in the early evening and most of the cast on stage throughout the day.

-Sunday 6th -Wednesday 9th- move to my cheap hotel ha ha relax for a few days with friends, site-seeing, talkshows maybe... open for suggestions

-Wednesday my buddies arrive and we check into new hotel and prepare for "premiere camping" this will be my first experience (ok WFE NYC but I have scratched that from my memory forever) so I am not sure what to expect but there IS a group of us who plan to do hotel/camp rotations however often permitted by security

-That weekend will be a blur of rotations, mingling, and likely some debauchery

-Monday 14th is the premier, I don't knwo what to expect but if things go well some red carpet action and maybe seeing the movie, to be honest, I would rather see it than red carpet it because I guess I am weird that way LMAO

-That night we have a hotel near LAX and in the early morning fly to NYC

-Check into Hotel, friend has classes while there, but I have other friends living or visiting NYC that I get to see, we have a few things planned such as a BD Screening and a BD midnight release and maybe take in some talk shows and/or broadway shows (I did rush seats in April and got $30 row 4 to How to Succeed in Business and then met Daniel Radcliffe out back... so worth it!!)

-Stay at friends last couple nights, just enjoy the city

-Sunday Nov 20 - FLY HOME!!!!

Tell me I am not crazy......... because I am feeling pretty damn crazy!

After this crazy October though, I deserve a break and this is a little bit more than a break but will be a blast!

When I return it is down to Seattle for USA Thanksgiving with the family and then December is staying home for recoop ha ha

I promise to take tons of photos and tweet lot's and blog lot's and share the experience for those who won't be there!!!

For those that WILL be there (or for at least part, be it the convention, the premiere, nyc, or where ever....) please let me know! I would love to meet up with as many people as possible during this adventure :-)

That's all for now... Thanks for reading!!

Real Life

Sometimes real lif sucks...

I apologize for my sporadic posts lately but there is a lot going on, so when i have time I will binge post

A little bit of a rant on my real life....

TV is my "down time"

First of all my cable provider has been absolute crap lately! My PVR started acting upa month ago and has got worse as days go by to the point where now I can't tape and watch shows and most of the time I can't even watch tv. It freezes, blacks out, pixelates, and cuts out.

The customer service of the cable provider has been even worse than the services they provide.

The tech guy came to my house to take a peek and I walked up from taking my daughter to school as he was at my door and he told me I would have to rebook because he had already called me in as not being home.

UM? WHAT? I am home now....

Not to mention to book him took sitting on hold for 4 hours - I have waited on hold for over 3 hours 4 times in the past two weeks... it is brutal!

The last phone in I made only took 3 hours on hold but then the lady seemed to not be listening to me, so I asked her to read back what she had written down and she said she hadn't typed it in yet but would. I asked if she could do it now and read back to me and she said "seriously? I don't think so" and HUNG UP ON ME!

That was the final straw, I called back, waited another near 4 hours and found out she hadn't written down anything (meaning I couldn't get an employee i.d. to report her)

Anyways, I have switched cable providers so on the 17th (which also happens to be my birthday) I will have a new cable, internet and phone provider... I am nervous after 10+ years with SHAW I am switching to TELUS... but Shaw has screwed me for the last time!

So I have been missing a lot of my shows, and my shows are me ecape from a crazy, busy, stressful real life... grrrrr

Forks Funk

It has been a week since Forks and I miss it. well, more the people... I really loved the weekend there!

October is my busy time

Yes I am always busy it seems, but October is always the worst. Besides Canadian Thanksgiving, which we just had, I have a number of friend's birthdays (including mine) and Halloween, which is the busiest holiday of the year for me because of a massive event I am involved in planning. Essentially I have no time for anything but event planning... stress city until Nov 1

November

November is usually a lazy month for me after a crazy October. Last year I vegged, the year before I actually had H1N1, but most years i am lazy, tired, and often sick after working so hard..

This November won't be lazy-bones month, but it WILL be busy and fun

I am going down to L.A. for Breaking Dawn Con, Premiere and other fun events and activities wityh friends. Then I am heading to NYC for more fun with friends and to see the Breaking Dawn midnight showing with friends.

Can't wait but it is a lot to plan and save money for!

Alright, I will end my rant there. I don't often use this space to rant about personal things, I keep it to fun stuff typically, but since there has been a lack of posts and a few people message me worried, or wondering what was going on, I decided to do a post and let you into my world a bit :)

So sorry and I promise to post more soon, morel ikely once my internet switches over ;)

Thanks for reading

Back in Business

Well, I am back from a wild and crazy - busy weekend....

What have I missed? A few things here and there, but in case you ,issed them also, I promise to post all the news and fun stuff tonight...

My weekend was insane, if you care to hear about it - Click More...

Wednesday I took my kiddo to Disney on Ice - Fantastic Show! Anyone else in Vancouver check it out? If it comes to your city, I highly recommend it!

Thursday kiddo was feeling sick (too much junk food at Disney on Ice? Nervous for performance?) but she went to school and performed in CATS and she did fabulous - we are so proud of her!

Thern we hopped in our car, despite the heavy snowfall, and drove down to Seattle. My husband was a trooper handling the unplowed roads like a pro.

We got into Seattle a bit late to start turkey but hung out with family and enjoyed the evening until about 11pm when my hubby and I went to Black Friday Shopping! We got a ton of stuff and our lil girl will be slightly spoiled this year, but she deserves it!

Friday we were lazy and then we did our turkey dinner with family and watched the Criminal Minds marathon.

Saturday we went to Seattle Science Centre for Harry potter Exhibiton but also the butterfly habitat, the regular science exhibits and all sorts of fun stuff. After we went to dinner and the arcade with some friends and their kids.

We got home pretty late and were so tired!

Sunday was another busy day, my hubby and I went to the Seattle Seahawks game and after some tailgating enjoyed the game, even though we lost to Kansas City Chiefs.

We had such amazing seats, seriously we were practically on the field, it was so amazing!

Sunday evening we packed up and drove home.

I don't know how I am even at work today, I am so tired after that busy weekend... and after today's regular day I have a 2 meetings tonight so I will have worked 8-8 (with some breaks in between for lunch and drive to meetings)

GAH!

That being said, I will try to update tonight but by tomorrow morning you can expect updates on everything i missed as well as some local Breaking Dawn news ;)

Check Back tomorrow - and thanks for your patience!

Kate plus 8 - homeschooling her expelled children

Rumours were that two of Kate's kids were expelled for bullying and bad behaviour. Of course the media is all over this as yet another point against the mother / family.

Reports say:
Colin and Alexis Gosselin, both 6, were indeed asked to leave, the source said, although not for bad behavior as has been rumored.

"The situation is being grossly overstated," the source said. "The kids are going through a challenging time, but Kate doesn't feel this is something that should be discussed publicly. It is a private matter."

Who knows? But I think those kids have had great opportunities because of the show but also great sacrifices and traumas.... it will not and does not surprise me to hear they are having "issues" regardless of if they are academic, behavioural or otherwise.

Sad!

True Blood Wedding - Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin tie the knot

Seem last night as the sun went down True Blood stars Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin got married at an intimate ceremony at a private residence in Malibu.

After, some of the boys went for a dip in the ocean...

More Celebration photos Here (Larger sized).

Lot's of familiar faces from True Blood and otherwise eh? Looks like a very romantic ceremony with lot's of fun after!!

Here are a few ceremony pics...

More Ceremony Photos Here (Grainy)

Read About the details under the cut...

True Blood News:

Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer got married today.

What started out as a chemistry read for roles in True Blood bloomed into romance for Anna and Steve. They fell for each other the same way we fell for Bill the first time he walked into Merlotte’s. The chemistry and electricity between Steve and Anna was apparent from the start.

They flew back to their respective homes, far from each other, after filming the pilot. Steve realized how much he missed Anna: “During the show’s first season I had to go back to London and she went back to New York. I wish I had bought shares in Skype, because we Skyped every night for three or four hours. It felt as thought a part of me had been removed when Anna and I were apart.”

True Blood fans were aware of their relationship even before it became public. We watched with joy as Anna won the Golden Globe in 2009. Steve’s eyes never left her as she gave her speech and there was no doubt, he was madly in love. Photos of the event depicted Anna staring lovingly at him; it was clear how they felt about each other. Maybe they were shy about making their love public, but you can’t fool the fans … Their first appearance as a couple at the Vanity Fair party brought the excitement and joy of seeing them together in pictures, interviews and videos. Steve and Anna always show a good sense of humor, charm, and fun-loving natures. They’re real people and what you see is what you get. This is why we’ve come to love and adore them and find them a perfect match for each another.

Just Jared:

The newlyweds (and True Blood co-stars) tied the knot at a private residence in Malibu on Saturday evening, August 21. Anna paired her gorgeous white halterneck three-quarter length gown with platform shoes.

Anna, 28, and Stephen, 40, then headed across the street to a beach house for their wedding reception. Congrats to the happy couple!!

People:

The actors wed Saturday evening at sunset, a source confirms to PEOPLE. Paquin, 28, and Moyer, 40, exchanged vows at a private residence in Malibu.

The good news comes after a year-long engagement for the stars of the hit HBO series. Moyer proposed with a vintage-style ring on the beach last August.

"It’s great to have the freedom to enjoy your work and not feel like you're leaving your other life behind," Paquin says of the couple's relationship. "It’s a pretty sweet setup."

What would you do? If Robert Pattinson knocked on your door? *updated*

Maria(the lucky fan) says: Well....it all started with an email to the Oprah show. I just told her
that the entire family were huge fans and if you came over and you were
NOT a twilight fan then "YOUR NOT COMING". Where? We didn’t know. We
just said your not coming to anything with us unless you were a fan.
They apparently loved that line. So Sunday night they called and said
that the show was totally booked but there might be a slight chance that
we can pre tape something with skype. Now...she said a very slim
chance. They were calling thousands of people. She asked me to send pics
of my family. So in order to get their attention I thought I would be a
great idea to take pictures as the “Cullen Family”. I waited all day on
Monday to hear from them to see if we would be doing the skype thingy.
Just when I started to give up it was around 10:30pm and they called.
THE TWILIGHT PICTURES DID THE TRICK. They were so amazed on how my son
Giuseppe looked so much like Edward. They told me to expect a skype kit
to pre-tape a very short segment around 8pm on Tuesday night. They told
me a hundred times “Sorry the show is full & we couldn’t give you
tickets. So on Tuesday the skype kit came and I waited all day again for
directions on how it was going to work. They called at 5pm and said we
were going to do a practice run with skype and we would be live with
oprah on the show in the morning. They told us do not dress up wear
comfortable cloth because you will be moving furniture and it was just a
test run. She actually told us to wear our pjs. At 8pm they called us
on the skype cam to set everything up. We wasted about on hour just
setting up the room. They kept telling me make sure all the blinds are
close the camera is sensitive to light. (which now I know it’s because
they didn’t want us to see him pull up.) They were asking random
questions really just filling in time until I saw a camera crew through
the small window on my front door and the people on skype heard me and
said “go open the door” Well….that was it we all lost it. Screaming like
a bunch of maniacs. Rosanna was crying, Giuseppe was frozen and
everyone else was jumping a screaming. He stayed for about 10 minutes.
Even though it felt like a week. And we just were all amazed that he was
in our house. I told him me and Rosanna stalked him in NYC for the
Remember Me premiere and he said “yeah I think I remember you” which was
an obvious joke. I asked him is Kristen was here too and he said “well
fine…I’ll just leave then”. Other things were said but I was in so much
shock I cant remember. It is so weired. His lips were moving and I know
he was talking but all I heard was wah wah wah. (kind of like snoopy and
Charlie Brown). Then he told us we had tickets to the show. Again lots
of screaming. He was great. So nice. Funny. And sooo tall. You was
beautiful. I still cant believe it. So we went to the show and they had
our names on our seats so we felt to privileged. Robert, Taylor,
Kristen, & Dakota all sat and talked to oprah and then they showed
the footage of him knocking on doors. He went to 3 homes in Naperville.
We were the last ones. When he was leaving my house he said to the
camera “I really want to stay and hang out at this house.” It was
amazing. We all got a certificate to order Bella’s engagement ring from
eclispe. The audience got to see the movie while he made his visit to
our house. It is something we will never forget. Oprah & Robert was
great but hearing my kids say “thanks for making this
happen”……absolutely priceless!!!

Updated: Here is another encounter!!

Rob (center) is flocked by fans during a surprise visit to a Naperville home on Tuesday. Pictured here are Meggan McAlpine (from left), Jena Fakroddin, Jillian Petterec, Ellie Adochio and Jenny Petterec.

Naperville Sun: You’re not supposed to invite a vampire into your house, but when Robert Pattinson of “Twilight” fame rang the doorbell of the Webster family’s Naperville home Tuesday, all decorum — let alone rules — went out the window.

Pattinson’s appearance was part of a taped stunt set up by producers of “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” The actor made surprise visits to three Naperville homes that evening.

“Twilight” cast members from the movie franchise about teen vampires were in town to tape an episode set to air May 13. The Websters were one of the families who had requested tickets to attend the taping. Little did they know they would get a whole lot more.

Jeanne Webster and her daughter Colleen, a sophomore at Naperville Central High School, had been contacted by producers and told that no more tickets were available. Instead, the producers asked if they could set up a video phone in the Websters’ home Tuesday night so Winfrey could talk to them remotely during taping the next morning. The Websters agreed and settled in for what they thought would be a dull night of technical setup.

“At 9 p.m. the doorbell rings and we saw this huge light and we were just screaming,” said Jeanne. “We thought it was Oprah at the door. My daughter Colleen opened the door and it was Rob Pattinson at the door to wish her a sweet 16th birthday.”

Another Naperville family, the McAlpines, also fell victim to what would become a welcome prank.

Lisa McAlpine’s 13-year-old daughter Meggan had invited three friends over to watch the video-phone setup. They met a movie star instead.

“The poor man — they practically tackled him,” said Lisa. “I don’t think he’ll have his hearing back for awhile.”

“I was in a state of shock at first,” said Meggan. “I always think if I ever meet these people this is what I’m going to say to them, but all I could do was scream.”

At the Websters’ home, Pattinson stuck around for about 15 to 20 minutes.

“I had my glasses on and had taken out my contacts and had no makeup on,” said Jeanne. “I couldn’t believe it. He was really funny and answered all of (Colleen’s) questions. He was a real laid-back type of guy.”

Pattinson also handed out Oprah tickets, so Jeanne, Colleen and 17-year-old daughter Shannon attended the Wednesday taping, where they also got to see stars Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Dakota Fanning.

“It’s been a crazy couple of days,” said Colleen. “I can’t believe it. The first thing that went through my mind was, ‘This cannot be happening to me.’ I was completely speechless for the first time in my life.”

Peter a famil man - out at soccer game

I love that Peter is such a normal "family man"

Fitting in a little quality family time, Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli took their two youngest daughters, Lola and Fiona, to cheer on their oldest girl, Luca, at her soccer game in Woodland Hills, California on Monday (March 1).

According to an onlooker, “the whole family really seemed to enjoy watching the soccer game, and Luca appreciated the support from her family.”

Peter Facinelli and the Family

The ‘Facinelli Five‘ — actors Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli with daughters Luca Bella, 12, Lola Ray, 7, and Fiona Eve, 3 — share a laugh at the 1st annual Milk + Bookies Story Time Celebration, held Sunday at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, Calif.

Milk + Bookies is a nationwide charitable organization that inspires children to give back, using books as its currency.

At Milk + Bookies events, boys and girls are provided the opportunity to select, purchase and inscribe books that are then donated to their peers who do not have access to books of their own.

The family fun day featured celebrity readers, story-inspired arts and crafts, photo flip-books, literary characters and — of course! — milk and cookies.
