So I am watching Charlie St. Cloud the other night...
I had meant to watch it sooner, it was filmed here in Vancouver and the island, I actually met Zac Efron - see blog here, the bubble of pretty who floated towards us one summer day.... but I am watching the movie on demand and I see this kid is on it, he has a goofy grin and he looks JUST like James Franco, and I am thinking, how do I know this kid?
Then, last night, I go see Incredibly Loud and Extremely Close and then The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and there is a trailer for 21 Jump Street. I am super excited because, obviously, Channing Tatum is in it... but then, this kid pops up again with his big "James Franco-esque" grin. And I am thinking, "I need to imdb this kid"
So tonight as I am laying in bed I remember - and I look him up...
Sure enough, he IS a Franco.... James Franco's brother, Dave Franco, and I know where I have seen him before... Privileged as Zack... remember Privileged?

I thought for a second Sage had been played by Phoebe Tonkin (Secret Circle, also filmed in Vancouver) but I was wrong....
OOH side note (as if this whole blog isn't one already....) Phoebe Tonkin has been linked to Ed Westwick - omg rawr!!! (also Tom Felton, Angus McLaren and numerous other hotties - lucky gal)

That is how I know that kid... he looks like James Franco, because he is his brother, I have seen him on Privileged and now... I should sleep LOL

Another connection I just made while blogging this... Michael Cassidy played Charlie on Privileged, was also on The OC and Smallville (filmed in Vancouver also) and saw him this week as a "red head" on "Are you there Chelsea?" That 70s Show's (DONNA - Laura Prepon) new sitcom....

Disney has staked out the weekend of March 8, 2013 to release the Sam Raimi-directed 3D Oz: The Great and Powerful. The film is still casting, but James Franco stars as the title character, with Mila Kunis playing Theodora, Michelle Williams in talks to play Glinda and Rachel Weisz in talks to play Evanora.
After just seeing WICKED in theatre, my Oz Obsession has been renewed... I also saw a highschool theatre play of Wizard of Oz recently... I really love everything Oz... this is good timing in my eyes, and I am happy with casting but interested in the script...
First of all, Water for Elephants had a new trailer. It was awesome!
127 Hours itself was pretty good too. I love James Franco - always. He is just really fantastic in most roles he takes on.
He played the outdoorsy, atheletic, slightly cocky Aron well, and as he slowly lost his mind while stuck in the crevice, he really showed the kinds of crazy people can start to go while stuck in pain without food or water for days.
My favourite was the premonitions and the visions he would see along with the "talk show host" portion of his crazy.
I knew all kinds of things about this movie and Aron's story... I knew he drank his own pee for example but somehow I didn't know (or chose to block out) that he saws his own arm off.
So when Lorabell, who was my date for the evening, told me, I got uncomfortable.
I get mild claustrophobia so I was already challenged by the small space, tight camera angles, rapid heart beats and over accentuation of sounds (gulping, licking lips, breathing, etc.) but add some sawing of ones own arm using a dull knife... well... that was a bit rough to endure.
But endure it I did and overall I thought the movie was awesome... I mean Black Swan was probably more uncomfortable to watch due to skin scratching, picking and what not.

It comes out on dvd early March! James Franco MAKES the movie, not since Tom Hanks and Wilson the volleyball have I seen such great solo actor performance.
There are so many amazing movies coming out... Some will be in theatres soon, others I am wishing I could see at one of the many Film Festivals coming up... oh to win the lotto and be able to travel...
Anyhow, here are some movies I look forward to seeing, it is by no means an extensive list just the ones on my mind right now...
September 10 -
The Romantics:
Seven close friends reunite for the wedding of two of their friends. Problems arise because the bride and the maid of honor have had a long rivalry over the groom. Starring: Katie Holmes, Anna Paquin, Josh Duhamel.
This looks awesome, I am anxious to see Katie again and Sookie too ;)
September 17- The Town:
As he plans his next job, a longtime thief tries to balance his feelings for a bank manager connected to one of his earlier heists, as well as the FBI agent looking to bring him and his crew down. Starring: Jon Hamm, Blake Lively, Ben Affleck, Jeremy Renner
This just looks good - - I love the concept.
Easy A:
A clean-cut high school student relies on the school's rumor mill to advance her social and financial standing
this just looks like my kind of funny cute movie.. can't wait!
October 1 - Chain Letter:
A maniac murders teens when they refuse to forward chain mail.
Finally this movie is coming out... I love Nikki Reed so I am excited to see this movie. Plus, thriller/horrors rock my world so this is a double win.
Let Me In:
A bullied young boy befriends a young female vampire who lives in secrecy with her guardian.
This looks creepy but good. A remake of an already pretty great film - could go either way.
The Social Network.
A story about the founders of the social-networking website, Facebook.
This just seems super cool... I wish they did one about TOM, the dude from myspace... ha ha.
Oct 8 - Stone:
A convicted arsonist looks to manipulate a parole officer into a plan to secure his parole by placing his beautiful wife in the lawman's path. Starring: Milla Jovovich, Robert De Niro, Edward Norton
I think this will be awesome DeNiro and Norton = win!
So I JUST saw the first one last week and thought it was pretty lame compared to what people made it out to be. Maybe it was scarier in theatres, maybe if it was based on actual events it would scare me but it wasn't and it isn't so it was just a waste of time... that being said I will watch 2nd one... though probably not until it's on free demand of my PVR like I did with the first ha ha - Katie is back so we will see what possibly could happen ha!
I actually would like to have a SAW marathon the weekend after Halloween (I am wayyy too busy in October) and then go see this. I love horror movies and I love them in 3D (My Bloody Valentine) - - - Don't judge me, it's just that I like to be scared and things flying at you in 3D is awesome!
So psyched to see this movie. Kristen Stewart is in it and she looks like she did an amazing job.. I may actually get to see this movie sooner than Nov 5 which would kick - ass but I will deffo do a review regardless of when I see it.
127 Hours:
A mountain climber becomes trapped under a boulder while canyoneering alone near Moab, Utah and resorts to desperate measures in order to survive.
I love Franco and this looks like a good flick plus it is based on true events which I love *ahem NOT Paranormal Activity*
Dec 1 - Black Swan:
This is another one I hope to see early but otherwise in December. It looks amazing, Natalie Portman rules!
Dec 26 - Blue Valentine.
Another one I hope to see at a film festival before December. I love Ryan Gosling and even Michelle Williams.

Dec 10 - The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader :
Lucy and Edmund Pevensie return to Narnia with their cousin Eustace where they meet up with Prince Caspian for a trip across the sea aboard the royal ship The Dawn Treader. Along the way they encounter dragons, dwarves, merfolk, and a band of lost warriors before reaching the edge of the world.
This movie was put on hold and almost cancelled a few times.. I am a huge fan of the series, in fact along with Twilight and Harry Potter and Percy Jackson, I'd love to see this entire Narnia series made ... as well as Wrinkle in Time, why hasn't anyone picked that up?
Anyhow, I need sleep - that's just a list of movies I have been thinking about lately... I really wish I could go to TIFF to see a few but it's just not happening this year, though I shall try for other Film Festivals this year...

Tobey Maguire and filmmaker Sam Raimi have quit Spiderman 4 over a reported script issue.
Just last week (ends08Jan10), a Columbia studios source revealed the sequel had been put on hold indefinitely due to script problems.
And now Daily Variety reports the film's star and director have departed the project, and Columbia executives are planning to make a prequel about Spider-Man's alter-ego, Peter Parker, as a teenager instead.
James Vanderbilt has already written a script for the alternative, which will be produced by Marvel Comics boss Avi Arad and movie mogul Laura Ziskin.
Raimi, who publicly expressed his dislike for the idea behind Spider-Man 4, says, "While we (Maguire and I) were looking forward to doing a fourth one together, the studio and Marvel have a unique opportunity to take the franchise in a new direction, and I know they will do a terrific job."
A new director and star will be announced in the coming weeks.
Mandy's Mind - This blows. I mean, could a new script not just be "re-done"? This reeks of something more doesn't it? I mean, if the script was shitty, they could re-vamp it... ah well, a prequel will be interesting... maybe... I want James Franco!

Craziness. He is also doing 30 Rock and a ton of new films.... this excited me as watching him in Pineapple Express and Spiderman on repeat is getting old... jsut kidding... that will never get old, but more is more... rawr!

Have you seen this? It’s the first look at James Franco on General Hospital. Don’t ask me about the storyline. I don’t care about the storyline. What I do care about are the scenes. Soap opera scenes are long and drawn out. Takes them days to have one conversation. Excruciating ordinarily but in this case, it means every day during the week there’s a long long LONG close up on James Franco for at least cumulatively 10 minutes an episode. Happiness.
As mentioned earlier, Per Ausiello, following his GH run, James will also guest on 30 Rock. And of course he already has several films in the can including the comedy Your Highness with Natalie Portman, Eat Pray Love with Julia Roberts, and Howl in which he plays Allen Ginsberg.
James is the current Independent Spirit Award Best Supporting Actor. And he still wants to know how it is to rough it on daytime. It might be time to move him off the Freebie 5 and onto the Lifetime List.
