Once Upon A Time finale filming

Today my family went to Steveston, B.C. for a nice day of sunshine and to see some of the sets used in 'Storybrooke'

Even though we don't live too far away, we had never had the time to go check it out, so today was the day - and a great day it was.
We found out they had filmed that morning and got to watch them film two different scenes.

The first scene was Gold and Belle and the second scene involved the dwarves. We also saw a quick scene involving some extras
We found out the finale would air early or mid-May and it was a two-hour finale (not sure if two hour on one night or two separate nights)

*SPOILER*

Gold walked out of his shop in a suit and sun glasses, looked around then Belle came out of the shop in a tight black mini dress. She looked around then said something we could not hear before giving him a hug.

Next the extras, one girl and two boys, ran down the sidewalk past Golds shop. They could have been running from something.

Last the dwarves were in the main street. We left as this scene began.

Here are some photos from today. I know they will be taken and used elsewhere, so I should care and tag / watermark them all, but to be honest, I am very tired from a day in the sunshine, so I will just ask that if you use these photos you link back to this post as the source. Thank-you in advance.

Before filming, we were taking photos outside Golds and noticed this happening inside... very cool preparations for filming!

Was super cool of the cast to wave good bye and stop to talk with fans, I am regretting not going to see filming sooner, but excited to catch part of the season finale filming

Breaking Dawn Set Photos - After the Fact

So this weekend my friend came up from Portland Oregon to visit and to show her friend and her friend's daughter around some of the Twilight sets from New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.

This may be a shocker, but I actually had NOT been up to Squamish sets from Breaking Dawn (in fact, I have not been up to Squamish or Whistler in over 10 years!) So the 4 of us drove up to explore.

Based on information from friends who had been there we were able to go the cliffs where vampire Bella climbs while hunting, as well as the land where the re-built Cullen house once stood, which is right beside the spot where the wedding was held.. in fact there are still some telling landmarks months after filming has wrapped.

First up, let's look at photos of the wedding scene...

...you can see in the trailer certain landmarks from filming such as the burned out tree to the left of Robert Pattinson, the bumps in the ground (2 of them) just behind Rob's feet and the other trees located in the photos. Of course the trailer also features dozens of additional trees, flowers, props and people for the wedding.

What was interesting was that the wedding literally took place in the "Cullen's back yard" as far as location goes. (Unlike, for example, New Moon, where Edward breaks up with Bella in North Vancouver, but she is found in Langley ha ha)

Also, as you can see in the top left of the photo, the river was right there - and beautiful!

I have pointed out noticable parts in my photos as well as screencaps from the trailer...

Here are some of my photos from our adventures...

And in the trailer you can see the same burned tree that is darkened as well as the same bump in the ground.

Here are some more photos from the same spot:

Now if you were Robert Pattinson, this is what you would be looking at (plus props, set dressing and beautiful Kristen Stewart as Bella walking down towards you).....

You may remember photos of when the Cullen House was still built there for filming. Here is a comparison of the previous Cullen house next to the Breaking Dawn Cullen House which Twifans helicoptered over in April 2011. You can see the driveway clearly, which is all that remains of the Cullen house now. Of course those bits of wood were once the beautiful Cullen House Replica seen in TwiFans photo Here:

And here is the drive way now....

We also went to some other locations used for filming....

Here are some photos from the rock cliffs they filmed Breaking Dawn scenes at. These were not in the trailer, so we will have to wait to see Vampire Bella climbing them to hunt.

For now, Bella Doll takes a hike ;)

Actually my friend took a lot of HILARIOUS photos with the Twilight dolls - I shall do a post on just those at some point as they are pretty entertaining ;)

Lastly, we had some fun in the woods.... re-enacting a favourite scene or two, most are on facebook but for now here is one to keep you entertained...

I posted more photos On my facebook account so feel free to add me there and take a look!

There are more of where the Cullen house was, even a bench that may have been used for guests at the wedding (speculating here, it was a random bench sitting there - shrugs) as well as more cliffs and river photos. We also stopped by Shannon Falls, which was not used in filming, but is still a very pretty site.

Overall, it was interesting to see the sets and what has changed. I do not regret not going during filming, I had met the cast and seen the sets of New Moon and Eclipse. But, it would have been a treat to see these sets with the set decorations and props in place!

Hope you enjoy these photos - you are welcome to share them just please do not remove tags and be polite in crediting this site/link back. Thanks

-Mandy

PS - To see some other photos taken a few weeks before I went check out my bloggy-buddy TwiCrackAddict's post here. She has some similar photos but with even more cool stuff like fake rocks, a garden outline and more! Sadly, those things were all gone when I went this past weekend! Still super cool! Enjoy!

What items Twilight cast want to keep from set

InStyle posted what cast members would most like to take home from set:

Robert Pattinson
"I keep everything from the set. I've stolen all of Edward's clothes."

Elizabeth Reaser
"My original Esme bracelet. I've seen reproductions of it in stores,
but I want to keep the one that I wear once we finish [filming]. It's mine!"

Taylor Lautner
"All my character wears is jean shorts, so I'll have to go with those.
That's my only option!"

Kellan Lutz
"Emmett's Jeep! I've wanted it since we shot the first movie.
I keep saying that, but nothing's happened. I'm still waiting!"

Peter Facinelli
"Carlisle's ring! It has the Cullen crest, the symbol of the whole family, on it. I'd like to take it home and keep it in a drawer somewhere.
Once, I couldn't get it off my finger, so it did go home with me."

Julia Jones
"Leah's cut-offs!"

Wyck Godfrey's comment about Louisiana

So near the end of this video Wyck Godfrey says he is hopping a plane to Louisiana to scout locations... this led to news that Louisiana is "confirmed"

ok - maybe so, but I am going to try to argue it because obviously Vancouver is my choice for Breaking Dawn... well at least part of it... but we will get to that at the end of this post....

SO, here is my attempt at discrediting the producers comments as confirmation for Breaking Dawn LoL

Watch the video first...

OK how can I argue this hmmm...

SO he is going to Louisiana to scout sets, so sets aren't chosen and so maybe they won't find them and decide to not go there? LoL

Breaking Dawn happens in the summer right? SO they needs sunny weather so Lousiana would provide that even in November (I have been down there plenty and even USA Thanksgiving down there was shorts and t-shirt weather in November) so.... weather, along with tax breaks makes for great location to shoot PARTS of BD.

I'd say maybe an Isle of Esme and a search by Alice and Jasper and studio.... but there is still some outdoors needed.... the main scene coming to mind is the big meet-up at the end, with all the witnesses ...

I keep thinking that would be filmed in the meadow or the battle field set.... not that there aren't areas in Lousiaiana that may have that ( I am arguing for Vancouver here though so bare with me) therefore they need our beautiful trees and mountains and landscape that can not be duplicated!

tee hee yes I am reaching but shuddup

While I am reaching and hoping let me say maybe Wyck was just throwing fans and paparazzi off by saying Louisiana, feeding into false rumours... ha ha ok too far of a reach... let's get back to facts...

I had heard as late as May that Vancouver was being used and at the same time Louisiana proof was present so I decided both locations were possible.

Here was the post in May about the issue.

I've been searching for similar info in Vancouver and have a few leads but nothing tangible to post so maybe there is nothing.... *le sigh*

I'd love to see them here for a few scenes particularily the big meet up at the end - what a way to wrap up the series??!!

One can hope - and I will....

but honestly a combination of here and there would thrill me because honestly that many months of filming here may send me into a mental institution - my email inbox get insanely curel and full during filming and the drama intensifies and it just gets ugly....

so, Louisiana and here combined would be my fave choice personally....

Time will tell... I am not convinced yet....
