Lindsay Pulsipher as Crystal in True Blood Season 3

True Blood Net reports:

Last seen in A&E’s The Beast, starring the late Patrick Swayze and Travis Fimmel, Pulsipher played Fimmel’s neighbor and love interest on the show. She’s also appeared in various television shows such as The Eleventh Hour, CSI: NY and NCIS.

Pulsipher wins the role of Crystal, described as a “mysterious and haunting beautiful young woman who shares an “electric connection” with Jason.” (EW)

Yes, Crystal is being introduced earlier than in the books, we already know. But, what do you think?

Alfre Woodard is Lafayette's Momma on True Blood

Alfre Woodard will guest star on True Blood in season 3 as Lafayette’s mom (and Tara’s aunt). That’s right, the casting call we posted last week for Ruby Jean Reynolds is indeed Lafayette’s mom. Described as “intensely religious and viciously homophobic”, Ruby Jean is clearly deranged and confined to a mental health institution.

Tony winner J. Smith-Cameron will join True Blood

Tony winner J. Smith-Cameron will join True Blood for the third season as Sam’s mom, Melinda Mickens. It’s a recurring role that calls for Cameron to play a dirt poor, hungover woman who lives in a shanty.

Sounds like Broadway-vet Cameron will have plenty to sink her teeth into with this role!

Grant Bowler joins cast of True Blood

Australia’s Sunday Telegraph confirms that Grant Bowler has joined the cast of True Blood for season 3. Bowler isn’t saying which character he’ll play, but he’s excited about the opportunity:

“Mate, it’s HBO and it’s the King … it’s the chance to work for an Oscar-winner [series creator Allan Ball] and alongside an Oscar-winner [Anna Paquin],” he said.

Bowler is currently co-starring on Ugly Betty as the dasterdly Connor Owens, the man who charmed even the scheming Wilhelmina. You may also recognize him as Captain Gault from Lost, which stars Carrie Preston’s hubby Michael Emerson. Bowler will be bi-coastal while filming True Blood in Los Angeles and Ugly Betty in New York, but it sounds like he’s up for the challenge.

He will play Cooter, a werewolf and leaderof a biker gang.

Denis O'Hare as Vampire King in True Blood Season 3

Denis O’Hare, veteran actor of film and television, will join the show as a series regular early in season 3. O’Hare will play Russell Edgington, the vampire King of Mississippi, who plays a role in Sookie’s search for Bill.

Natasha Alam cast for Season 3 True Blood as Yvetta

True Blood Net reports:

Model-actress Natasha Alam has been cast as Yvetta, Eric’s new dancer at Fangtasia. Except she’s more than just a dancer, she’s also Eric’s lover. Alan Ball did promise that Eric would be naked this season; careful what you wish for, Truebies!

Mandy's Mind - Oh I am careful what I wish for and a nekkid Eric has been a LONG time coming... rawr!

Marshall Allman joins True Blood

True Blood Net has another casting update for True Blood Season 3.

Marshall Allman joins True Blood for season three as Tommy Mickens, Sam’s little bro. Allman played L.J. Burrows on the hit series Prison Break, and was seen on Mad Men and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Mandy's Mind - I am a huge fan of Prison Break and am excited to see him on True Blood along with fellow Prison Break star Shannon Lucio .

The North Shore Outlook Features "Vampire Hunters" in Vancouver

The North Shore Outlook featured a nice story on Jen Griffin, from Vegas, and her journey to Vancouver during New Moon filming.

I was interviewed for the story also, since Jen and I met during her stay here and [in case you didn't know] I had been a tad involved in the "vampire hunting" that happened during New Moon filming in Vancouver.

Like Griffin (who in this tale is using her maiden name), Mandy is somewhat of a closet fan. She was thrust into the role of vampire hunter a month earlier, when a casual mention of scenes being filmed at Jacob’s house in Port Coquitlam changed her life.
Her blog Mandy’s Mind, once only viewed by friends, became a go-to site for Twi-hards. Masses from around the world sought information regarding the “wheres” and “whats” of New Moon. Overnight Mandy was dubbed Vancouver’s New Moon’s guru.

“There were so many people checking my blog that I had to switch my
(personal) blog,” she said.

Like Griffin, Mandy has a high-level career, and Twilight doesn’t fit into it. There’s a misperception that Twilight fans are bubble-gum chewing, Hannah Montana devotees seeking something a little bit naughty.

“You don’t want people to group you into that category,” Mandy said.
In reality, the majority of hardcore vampire hunters are in their mid-20s to mid-30s, she said. However, she’s not about to bring a Twilight plastered suitcase to work anytime soon.

But tonight, she was happy to fulfill her new role and quench the following’s cravings. Tonight, the last night of filming at the Cullen house set, was the night.

“We were ready for the long haul,” Mandy said.

It was reliving that night at the Cullen House when we met the Twilight cast.... I havethe video on my YouTube Page

"No Big Stars" at TwiConSeattle is false...

This article rubbed me the wrong way.... Read on...

Fans of the Twilight book and movie saga are gathering at a Seattle convention this weekend, and they'll get a taste of real Quileute tribal traditions and performers -- not vampires and werewolves.

Carol Hatch, chairwoman of the Quileute tribe, as well as the Quileute Wolf Dancers from tribal school in LaPush will speak and preform at the event officially known as the Seattle Twilight Fan Convention -- or TwiCon.

Also at the convention will be a few of the actors from the "Twilight" movies, fan discussion groups and, of course, merchandise relating to the best-selling book series and blockbuster movies, "Twilight" and "The Twilight Saga: New Moon."

    No big stars

Mandy's Mind - Since when are Peter Facinelli, Charlie Bewley, Daniel Cudmore, Chaske Spencer, and so on, not big stars? I find this a tad insulting actually.... Maybe I am wrong but I don't think "The big 3" are doing any of the Twi Con's are they? Either way, I don't think saying "No big stars" is accurate or nice...

None of the "big three" stars of the movies -- Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner -- will attend the event, which is put on by Creation Entertainment and Summit Entertainment, the studio which made the movies.

Also not expected is Stephenie Meyer, the author of the four Twilight books that have spawned the two movies and a third to be released midyear.

The event will run all day and night Friday, Saturday and Sunday at The Westin hotel, 1900 Fifth Ave., Seattle.

Meyer's fictional saga tells the tale of Forks teenager Bella Swan and her suitors, vampire Edward Cullen and werewolf Jacob Black.

The character of Jacob, a Quileute teen, has drawn worldwide attention to the LaPush-based tribe's history and traditions like never before -- although there are no werewolves in tribal customs.

The tribe has invited fans to visit its weekly Drum Circles on Wednesday evenings at the A-Ka-Lat Community Center and periodically performs traditional Wolf Dances at West End events.

"We are delighted to bring youth from the village [to Seattle] to share their talents with the fans," said tribal publicist Jackie Jacobs, who coordinated the tribe's appearance at The Westin.

"It is extra special to be there the day the full wolfpack will be in attendance."

The group will speak at the convention on Sunday at 11:40 a.m. -- just after fan Web site www.twilightlexicon.com founders host a panel and before actors Kiowa Gordon and Bronson Pelletier, who portray werewolves in "New Moon."

The event will also draw celebrities such as Peter Facinelli, who plays Carlisle Cullen, Edward's father in "Twilight."

Mandy's Mind - if these people aren't "big stars" why bother mentioning them? yup - contradiction... *sigh*

    Peter Facinelli emotional over Eclipse

    Reel Empire posts:

'Twilight: Eclipse' made Peter Facinelli cry. The actor who plays Carlisle Cullen in Summit Entertainment's hugely popular vampire series "The Twilight Saga" also plays Dr. Fitch on Showtime's hit show "Nurse Jackie". Bouncing back and forth between schedules was reportedly so exhausting that it led to a bravura emotional performance on the show.

"The scene where I was crying with Akalitus came out of me just being emotionally exhausted," Facinelli said. "It wasn't written that I was crying and all of a sudden in the middle of the scene I broke down and started crying. It felt right for the scene. I did takes that I wasn't crying in but they felt like because there was all this heavy emotions going on that it really worked for the scene. I think it was just me getting off an airplane having three hours of sleep and just being that vulnerable that it hit me that hard. I enjoyed doing both projects at the same time."

Ah, how cute? Isn't that the term you ladies would most likely use?

It is cute - so is he - and I am so excited to see him at Twi Con Seattle this weekend!

    David Slade's NYE Gift a "no-go"

Oh Summit, why? Maybe this "gift" will come for Valentines Day? But, likely not until March around the release of Remember Me (I guessed a clip or a photo from Eclipse but who knows)

Kiowa Gordon's Modelling before Twilight Role

Kiowa Gordon plays the very funny Embry of the wolf pack in New Moon, but before he was the lovable wolf, he did this add against meth. Modeling and sending a great message to other young people in his community. Thank you Kiowa.

    Oh Ashley Greene...

I don't mean to sound, mean... but Ashley Greene is in the paparzzi scope 24-7 and it seems she isn't really doing much... I mean, everyone else is working on other films, or projects or travelling and Ashley - well she did the SoBe ad... and... she talks on her phone... and walks her dog... and shops... and visits friends.... pumps gas... goes to the gym... I dunno...

Ashley Greene carries her pooch into a studio in Burbank, Calif. on Jan. 12.

I adore AShley Greene, but I feel like she should be picke dup for more projects and kept busy - - - - maybe it's her choice to take some downtime... I dunno....

    Thoughts?

Fan who got phone call with Chris Weitz

1.) How nerve-racking was it to know you had to relocate several location for New Moon?

A.) It was really nerve-racking because I thought people would notice and be upset, it was a puzzle to get it just right. The outside of the school is all CGI, we built the stairway for the school and took stills. In the Cullen's house I also tried to show different rooms in the house to add to the feeling of the house. When Taylor was traveling during Twilight a fan gave him a hand-carved Native American ornament. We used that ornament in Jacob's room in New Moon.

2.) I know Edward's car is now a dark silver, but was there any reason for the change?

A.) Availability. Volvo wanted to introduce a new car into the series, instead of the older model. So they provided a newer model, brown Volvo. Immediately we knew it had to be repainted, and chose a dark, non-shiny, black colour. It added more to the first Edward scene in the movie, the feeling is upbeat but the colour of the vehicle adds to the danger lurking.

3.) How did you decide to shoot the scene where the months are passing by, considering the books only name the months that pass?

A.) We originally thought we could use a blank screen with names of the months passing but felt that it was best to portray depression visually. CGI was used and the windows were covered by green screen. We used a robotic camera for revolvement to mimic the original hand camera as much as possible. I'm not sure if you noticed but with each revolvement the room changes, there are less pictures of her friends and the room gets more sparse.

4.) I really enjoyed the added scene with Victoria swimming towards Bella. (The book hints to the orange colour the water was reflecting, in a later revelation by Bella.) How did this scene come to be?

A.) Well, the orange coloured water wouldn't have looked right in the scene so we put her in the water visibly. That scene was difficult because we wanted to film her swimming towards Bella but it had to be at a distance. If it wasn't at a distance fans would wonder why Victoria didn't just get her in that short scene, but at the same time it had to feel threatening. That was all shot in Vancouver in a swimming pool, we had the actors underwater with four or five frog men with air tubes for security purposes. We also had green screens in the water surrounding the actors so we could CGI in all the particals in the water. Theres actually a program to add in all of the floating debris and colour differences in the water after filming. Kristen had a cold at the time and was scared of drowning. We had to force her to stay in the water [laughter] But Rob was more comfortable in the water, hes had to shoot underwater scenes in the past. [Harry Potter]

5.) Were there any scenes that you would have loved to see in the film but never made the final cut?

A.) Yes, one scene. Theres a scene with a motorcycle crash that gives more of a sense of danger. The reason why it didn't make the final cut was because of weather reasons, it was just too sunny to be considered Forks. The DVD will include that scene as well as extended scenes. Some of the extended scenes include more of Edward's visit to the Volturi concerning his immortality and more from the scene between Carlisle and Bella. [when he was stitching Bella up.] In one of the early drafts of the script this scene was not in the movie. Immediately I knew that had to change, it was essential to the story line.

6.) In the movie why were there two scenes where Bella and Jacob almost kiss when its not as dramatized in the book?

A.) It was more of trying to get the point across and we kind of stole the thunder from Eclipe a tiny bit so it wasn't just "Poor Jacob." With less Edward we needed a little more romanticism without compromising the spirit of the book.

7.) Did you have any say in the soundtrack? If so, how difficult was it to choose what made the final cut?

A.) I actually had a lot of say in it, and a lot of great bands didn't make the cut, [example: silver sun pickups] but we knew it needed to be more downbeat. For the scene with Bella's initial depression [the months] we had an older radiohead song, but we brought in Lykke Li and she watched the scene. She came back to us with a track that worked perfectly, but was never-racking because you never know what they're going to bring back. We really wanted newer, Indie songs for the soundtrack to match the mood.

    Twilight Fans help Haiti

After an earth-quake in Haiti, reached 7.0 (as well as severe after shocks) in the darkness of night - the world reached out to help.

Twitter, Celebrities, everyday people like you and I, all felt the heartache of Haiti and luckily, many decided to help.

Donations of money, food, blood, everything began to come in... Now there are many ways to help, and I encourage you to do so - the fatality numbers are devestating and we can all spare a bit of time or money to help.

Our own Lainey Gossip as well as Twilight Bloggers Thinking Of Rob were mentioned in The LA Times blog for their commitment to the efforts:

Various tweeple and bloggers in the gossip and "Twilight" fan communities (@ThinkingofRob is on fire with updates) are urging donations to the Canadian Red Cross and elsewhere.

Here are some ways to donate:

It doesn't matter what you do, just do something. If everyone on my twitter donated just $1 that would be over $2500, imagine what $5 of $10 could do?

Please pass it on - every cent helps.
  • I usually watch American Idol once it gets to the final 10 or so. Auditions are hilarious but I cut them out of my schedule a couple seasons ago after some irritating people and a busy real life (you know, outside of television, twitter and twilight ;) ha ha)

Anyhow, last night I watched the Auditions and I have to say, I was sucked in. One, such as my husband, would think two hours of Simon Cowel and some half-ass singers would not be enjoyable, but I beg to differ.

Call me a cry - baby, but I am so moved by some of the stories (good job to the editors for creating that emotional connection) that I just bawl and squeal along with the parents and friends and family when they find out their love don gets the golden ticket.

And while I tweet when i watch the show (though often not live... either east coast feed, or sometime in between when I sit down with my PVR) I wanted to summarize a few things from yesterday and today's auditions.

it is too early to tell much, we still have Hollywood and whatnot... but here are some initial thoughts...

    Yesterday's Show

Luke Shaffer was the whole package - great voice, cute, charming.

Benjamin Bright had an amazing voice.

Ashley Rodrigez [who sang alicia keys] - looks like a superstar and had a stunning voice.

Tyler Grady [2 broken wrists/drummer/70s gear] had a nice voice and that off-beat style and confidence.

Katie [16 year old with adult voice and The portuguese gramma] was shocking - so young but a voice of an experienced woman.

Justin Williams [who had cancer] is beautiful! Those eyes, that smile, the voice - #ai rawr #mommawants

Mike ["codzilla boat" guy] is charming, sweet, cute with an amazing accent.

As for Andrew [the dood w/ glasses who was grumpy about waiting] He was totally acting/wanting attention andso obviously putting on a show - Those are the kind of people who made me stop watching auditions before...

    Tonight's Show

Skii bo ski - with a misspelled word on his shirt, I dunno, not really a fan.

Human Guitar Girl - talks so squeaky but sings so deeply, I wasn't a huge fan of her either though she is quirky.

The 2 BFF's - "The Ditzies" would be an excellent name for their duo - I wasn't a fan... they were annoying, I am glad the one didn't make it, I couldn't deal with her for another second.

Vanessa Wolfe - bridge jumper, country girl, I adore her... she kind of reminded me of Kelly Pickler in the sense that she comes from small town nothing... but where Kelly is ditzy, this girl is... just sweet. I hope hope hope she makes it onto the show - I really liked her a lot.

Miss Congeniality in Atlanta who sung Titanic was pretty awesome. I liked her a lot too.

Pants on the Ground - not only is #american idol and #americanidol trending but also #pantsontheground and #pants on the ground

    Why?

If you didn't watch the show you need to youtube search "Pants on the Ground"

I will post once once an HQ official version comes up [right now it's all lame shakey versions]

You will Love it - - - Old man singing his made up song "Pants on the Ground" omg - he MUST MUST MUST [and will I am sure] be on the finale show <3

    Who watches the show?

    Thoughts?

    Forks Article in MacLean Magazine

Macleans had a great article in November on the changes Forks has experienced since Twilight.

Approximately 69,000 tourists have filtered through the town’s handful of inns and bed and breakfasts since January, compared to the 6,000 a year who came in the B.T. (before Twilight) days. The visitors are mostly groups of middle-aged women or young girls dragging along bewildered parents.

I have shockingly not been to Forks yet, despite my frequent trips to Seattle. It's on my list of places to visit in 2010 for sure and I have lot's of people from around the world telling me about their plans to go this year too.

Previously, Forks was barely a dot on a map, but now, it is easily recognized and visited by Twilight fans world-wide. Forks residents have seen some crazy things since the Twilight Phenomena:

"The backs of the cars say things like ‘Forks or bust,’ ‘We love Bella,’ ‘We love Edward,’ ” says Gurling. “They get on their cellphones, just literally jumping up and down on the floor, calling their best friends, saying ‘You won’t believe it, I’m actually in Forks.’ ” One teenage girl, says Gurling, “comes in and she starts looking around at all the T-shirts and things and she actually begins sobbing. Tears are just streaming down her cheeks."

It's amazing how the Twilight books have changed the towns people's lives... and it isn't ending anytime soon.

The town’s sudden popularity even caught the attention of Jason Brown, an Emmy-award-winning filmmaker. His documentary about the community, Twilight in Forks, is scheduled to be released in March, coinciding with the DVD release of New Moon.

With all this publicity, what can Forks expect in the months to come? More visitors, screaming teenaged girls, twi-mom's and fans flocking to snap photos and enjoy the tourist trap, that I feel is worth getting trapped in.

The phenomenon has been nothing but magical for the town. Forks has had its share of economic problems—the logging town would have been devastated by the recession. Instead, it’s doing better than it has in 30 years. “Twilight has been an absolute blessing,” says Mayor Reed. “It’s kept the last person from turning out the lights, and as a matter of fact, lights are going on in abandoned buildings.”

Sunday we will be up early and head home to Vancouver for dinner & drinks with friends before the 100 Monkey's concert in Vancouver.

Will be a very busy weekend - I wasn't even going to go to TwiCon but I wanted to check a few things out so I could decide how involved I want to be when it comes to Vancouver.

Day Passes are still available at the door all weekend.

Stephenie Meyer responds to Breaking Dawn Rumours

    From Stephenie Meyer's Official Website:

"Just a quick note on the subject of the Breaking Dawn film: there is no drama over whether the book should be one movie or two. My personal feeling is that it would be very difficult to cram the whole story into one movie (as I've said in many interviews previous to this), but if a great way of doing that surfaces, I'm all for it. Two or one, whichever way fits the story best is fine by me, and everyone I've spoken with at Summit seems to feel the same way. We're all excited to move forward on this, and we are slowly and surely getting there. I know people are anxious for news, and so sometimes gossip get fabricated to stir things up, but there's no basis to this particular story.?
    Steph

She is of course refering to This News from yesterday that her and Summit were disagreeing over how to move forward with Breaking Dawn, one movie, or two.

I love that she clarifies stuff for us, there is so much gossip going around it is hard to know what's real. Though, didn't she always say she thought 2 movies was best?

With so many rumours, I do hope at least this information from Wyck Godfrey is real and Breaking Dawn comes to Vancouver this Fall. It is an L.A. Times interview and a reliable source, so let's keep hoping.

As hectic as it could get while filming New Moon and Eclipse here, it was so worth the amazing friendships I formed, awesome opportunities I had, and terrific Twilight related experiences that I lived.

MSN apologizes to Quileute Tribe for Video

LAPUSH -- MSN.com is set to offer a public apology to the Quileute tribe today for a video shot on Stephenie Meyer Weekend in September that showed unapproved filming on the reservation -- including scenes of the cemetery and graves, said tribal spokeswoman Jackie Jacobs.

Jacobs said she was first alerted to the video on Nov. 12 -- just two days before she and tribal council members left for the Los Angeles premiere of "The Twilight Saga: New Moon."

"It was such a bittersweet trip because I found out just two days before, and I knew I would be going to this huge celebration and would have to sit down and tell the council about it," Jacobs said.

"I couldn't really reiterate verbally or adequately convey what those images were like."

The film crew shot images of the Tribal Council building, totem poles, First Beach, the Senior Center and the Quileute Cemetery.

The film was set to dark music -- described by Jacobs as "macabre" -- and was filmed in an amateur documentary style.

    Grave of chief

Repeatedly zooming in and out on a grave of a Quileute tribal chief -- who Jacobs did not name -- also added to the dark, suspenseful nature of the short film.

"As a native woman, I was astounded and sick to my stomach -- especially knowing I was the person who would have to tell the family about this," Jacobs said.

When Jacobs spoke with MSN on Nov. 12, it took the video down within minutes, she said.

Jacobs said the filmmakers had contacted the Forks Chamber of Commerce for permission to film points of interest for a virtual Twilight tour.

Meyer is the author of the Twilight series; she was not associated with the MSN project.

She said no one at the tribe was contacted for permission to film on the reservation.

"Anyone who is conducting business on our sovereign nation should go through the proper channels," she said.

Her contact information as well as the tribal numbers appear on the Web sitehttp://www.quileutenation.org/, she said.

    Pain and suffering

"This situation has caused an enormous amount of pain and suffering to the Quileute Nation as a whole, but especially to the descendants of the Quileute chief," she said.

"An apology will never erase that hurt.

"Besides heartbreak, I was in shock and perplexed that an organization that presents itself as culturally sensitive and aware to indigenous people's plights all over the world could make such an egregious choice in their own backyards."

Jacobs said the tribe plans to work with MSN, which will produce a series of educational videos that the tribe can use to teach about its culture.

"We need to use the situation as an educational opportunity to teach the world how to conduct themselves when visiting a sovereign nation," said Carol Hatch, Quileute tribal chairwoman.

Among the etiquette guidelines the tribe posted on its site http://www.quileutenation.org/indian-country-etiquette is: "Burial grounds and religious ceremonies are sacred and are not to be entered."

"You can't really erase these situations," Jacobs said.

"But you can utilize it as an educational platform."

    Late Night Talk Show Drama

    ABC News reports:

NBC confirmed it will yank the comic's 10 p.m. nightly hour once the Winter Olympics begin, and it hopes he will accept a half-hour version of his show at his old time -- 11:35 p.m. -- instead.

NBC has spoken to Leno, Conan O'Brien and Jimmy Fallon about moving their shows to later start times, Gaspin said. Under the proposal, O'Brien, the man who replaced Leno as host of "The Tonight Show," would move to 12:05 a.m., and Fallon to 1:05 a.m.

"My goal right now is to keep Jay, Conan and Jimmy as part of our late-night lineup," Gaspin said. "As much as I would like to tell you we have a done deal, we know that's not true. The talks are still ongoing."

NBC said its stars were given the weekend to think about it. The network doesn't know whether O'Brien will accept a half-hour demotion or bolt to another network.

"What we're hearing from inside the Conan camp is they're kind of 50-50 right now with what they're going to do," said Mike Schneider, TV editor for Variety. "I mean, this obviously is a big smack in the face."

Last week, amid a firestorm of speculation that NBC might can O'Brien altogether, the network released a statement this week declaring its loyalty to the late-night comic.

"We remain committed to keeping Conan O'Brien on NBC," the network said in a statement Thursday evening. "He is a valued part of our late-night lineup, as he has been for more than 16 years, and is one of the most respected entertainers on television."

It remains to be seen if O'Brien will stay with the network that made him a star of if he'll fly the coop. He could potentially move his schtick to a competing network or leave the late-night game altogether. According to The Wall Street Journal, O'Brien is exploring his options with Fox.

Of course all the jokes on the talkshows surrounded this issue and it was quite amusing to see them all poke fun at the situation.

Mandys Mind - Leno has to go - keep Fallon and Conan as is. Leno retires. The End.

    No more Spiderman 4

Tobey Maguire and filmmaker Sam Raimi have quit Spiderman 4 over a reported script issue.

Just last week (ends08Jan10), a Columbia studios source revealed the sequel had been put on hold indefinitely due to script problems.

And now Daily Variety reports the film's star and director have departed the project, and Columbia executives are planning to make a prequel about Spider-Man's alter-ego, Peter Parker, as a teenager instead.

James Vanderbilt has already written a script for the alternative, which will be produced by Marvel Comics boss Avi Arad and movie mogul Laura Ziskin.

Raimi, who publicly expressed his dislike for the idea behind Spider-Man 4, says, "While we (Maguire and I) were looking forward to doing a fourth one together, the studio and Marvel have a unique opportunity to take the franchise in a new direction, and I know they will do a terrific job."

A new director and star will be announced in the coming weeks.

Mandy's Mind - This blows. I mean, could a new script not just be "re-done"? This reeks of something more doesn't it? I mean, if the script was shitty, they could re-vamp it... ah well, a prequel will be interesting... maybe... I want James Franco!

Twilight Cast trying out Horror / Thriller Movies

I recently listed a number of Upcoming Projects for the cast of Twilight.

Twilight Lexicon pointed out that many of these actors are trying out Horrors and Thrillers, which pleases me as that is one of my favourite genre's of film.

Jackson Rathbone, Xavier Samuel, Nikki Reed, and Mike Welch each have projects that are coming up that are a bit edgier than the Twilight Saga.

Here are some trailer's and clips for these upcoming movies:

First up is Xavier Samuel’s horror/thriller Road Train:

Mandy's Mind - Probably something I would have eventually caught on late-night scary tv movie of the week. I adore Xavier and will check it out, I think he is likely the best part of this movie.

    Next is Jackson Rathbone’s Dread:

Mandy's Mind - This actually looks like something I'd have seen anyways, psychological thriller, twisted, I am excited for this movie to come out end of this month.

And also Mike Welch in Unrequited:

Mandy's Mind - It's so weird seeing goofy "Mike Newton" as this crazy guy. I feel like it's a bit psychotic but will be good.

Nikki Reed, in Last Day of Summer:

Mandy's Mind - It's hard to get much from this clip, but I look forward to an actual trailer. I adore Nikki so I will check it out regardless. Also, Nikki is in Chain Letter.

    Which looks predictable but good.

And, our boy Kellan Lutz in Nightmare on Elm Street:

Mandy's Mind - I loved Nightmare on Elm Street as a kid so this will be awesome.

If you're not a thriller fan, will you still go see these movies? I love these types of movies and am excited to see them, even more so because I will get to see my fave Twi-Cast outside of Forks.

    *********** EDIT****************

Also, Billy Burke's REMOVAL which looks awesome!!!

Ron Howard talks about daughters transition for Eclipse.

I kept thinking Bryce's casting may be due to a desire to have Ron Howard direct Breaking Dawn. Though purely speculation / my own opinion.... it's an interesting idea non?

Access Hollywood’s ‘Dish of Salt’ blog had the chance recently to speak with director, producer, actor, and father of Bryce Dallas Howard, Ron Howard, about everything Twilight. In the new interview, Ron discusses how difficult of a decision it was for Bryce to step into the role of Victoria in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (in place of Rachelle Lefevre), how much Bryce loved working with the rest of the cast and how much respect she has for everyone, the grueling workouts Bryce had to go through to get into shape for the film, and more.

Rachelle LeFevre discusses Twitter, Rob and more

Robert Pattinson & Kevin Spacey Draw Attention from Twilight Star Rachelle Lefevre

Twilight star Rachelle Lefevre (pictured) has told how Kevin Spacey taught her to Twitter - and says she still has to tell fans that Robert Pattinson "does shower". Lefevre, who played evil Victoria in the first two Twilight movies, met Spacey on the set of their film Casino Jack.

She said: “We got talking about Twitter and Kevin said he had 420,000 followers. I asked him if it made him nervous, if he was giving too much access. Then he gave me a 20-minute talk about why he loves doing it. He said it helps communicate with the fans, how it helps let people know what he’s doing. He sold me on it. If a two-time Academy Award winner tells you to Twitter, you Twitter.”

Talking about Twilight hunk Pattinson on an Australian talk show, Lefevre added: “It‘s been a year-and-a-half now and we’re still quashing the rumour that he doesn’t shower. He showers! Very early on when filming the first movie people stopped me in the street and said, ‘Does he shower?’

She adds, "He does. He’s lovely, the same as he was when he first started filming. He loves his music. He plays with his hair. He gets uncomfortable sometimes. He’s very normal."
