Sunday is Vampires, Wolves and Witches? oh my!

Sunday's were previously known as True Blood Sundays though I did check out the nw ABC series The Gates last week and have added it to my Sunday SChedule. Both shows have vampires, wolves and other mythical creatures yet to be explored or revealed.... exciting.

Let me start with my fave, True Blood.

ok so this season looks like it will address Sam's past, were-creatures, and developing Sookie's bond with Eric while throwing a massive barrier between Sookie and Bill.

So far we have had a ton of new characters introduced.

To keep track (though it may give a bit of spoilers as it lists all upcoming characters) you can read my post here.

I felt like tonight's episode was the most disturbing.... if you haven't seen don't read...

First of all Tara's Eye fluttering sex was uncomfortable to wach... thought James Frain, who plays Franklin, has this unusual appeal... he is not your typical sexy but I really am digging him as the new vamp in town.

Second, Bill and Lorena's disfunctional sex scene ended the show on a disturbing note. Not just because they did the deed, but the neck twisting was strange and the wide shot showing her body lying on her back while her head was twisted right around facing down.... disturbing.... but Mariana Klaveno (who plays Lorena) is perfect for the role, I actually hoped she'd burn worse after the end of last episode.

What I loved about the episode was Pam... I always love Pam but I as glad to see her sassy 'tude towards Jessica calling all the while actually getting some action.

Every scene with Eric is a win.

I am glad to be meeting all these were's and loving the new sexy faces.

I am excited to see where this season goes.

NOw, as for The Gates, I thought the pilot was intriguing. This week was even more confusing because there are a ton of characters I cant kee track of yet and some odd happenings, mainly the teenaged girl with weird symptoms and the bizarre disappearances and hidden secrets of each family.

Again, I am into it enough to keep watching and see how it goes... I will keep you posted - next Sunday is the 3rd episode so we shall see.

Sunday Nights are deffo fun with all the vampirific television shows.

Did you watch?

Wat did you think?

The Gates - Pilot

I hadn't planned to watch The Gates, I feel like I have too much tv already and it seems like juswt another vampire/werewolf bandwagon jumper....

I watched it tonight and I am glad I did - it was pretty awesome... I am pretty confused still but from what I gather it will have a lot of awesomesauce so I am willing to, based tonights pilot, give it a shot.

There was vampires, werewolves and... something else...

It is filmed in Louisiana (how many vampires can they fit down there?) and looks to have an interesting and complicated plot... My guess is witches in addition to the werewolves and vampires (There are ladies with magical potion shops)

Basically a chief of police moves into gated community with his wife and two kids after leaving some kind of drama behind.... within gated community there are some aggressive werewolf boys who have rules and some vampires, and a girl who seems to control minds somehow or memories... *shrugs* it was a lot in one episode but I think it will all come together, I am hoping at least because I am adding it to my pvr series record list.

Who else watched it? Thoughts?

THE GATES - a new tv show

This was posted at Twilightish:

Nestled inside a private mountain community are The Gates. The image of perpetual suburban bliss, each street is lined with perfectly manicured homes protected by the massive iron gates, but a dark and delicious secret is buried just beneath the surface of this picturesque neighborhood.

Like most families that settle inside The Gates, the Monahans are unmoored from a complicated life they abandoned in Chicago. Named the new police chief of The Gates, Nick Monahan is expecting a change of pace in this quiet suburb. Nick's wife, Sarah, and their children, Charlie and Dana, are embarking on new adventures as well. Their house is to die for, but amidst the excitement, Sarah is still burdened with the revelation that her husband may not be the man she thought he was. Charlie and Dana will also face some challenges of their own: Along with navigating the trials and tribulations of adolescence, they'll also face the daunting task of fitting into their new upscale school, where their new friends run in tight-knit packs.

There's something very different about this place, almost... haunting. Unions will be complicated by friends with unnatural influence, insatiable housewives will struggle with ravenous cravings, and teenagers will be cursed with keeping their beastly instincts in check. The Monahans are facing an uncertain fate. Nick is about to be tangled up in a mystery where he will begin to piece together the dark truth about their new home, and the supernatural elements that lurk behind the shadows of The Gates.

Mandy's Mind - Is it actually about vampires? or is it just trying to hint that it is to grab an audience? Will you check it out? My pvr schedule has been pretty full lately, though it will open up as a few shows are ending, but there is always new shows coming to replace...

This summer - Big Brother, SYTYCD, Last Comic Standing are amongst those shows filling in the ones ending (DWTS, American Idol etc)
