Comic-Con is coming... prepare for long lines and camping

It just kicked in... SDCC is approaching and I need to start planning and getting ready...

http://sdccblog.com/2013/05/ask-the-sdcc-doctors-prepare-for-line-camping/ is a great resource for preparing...

I have to admit, I am not good with overnight camping, I have a bad back, really bad knees (last year SDCC nearly killed me, I was in a wheelchair for two days even!! Horrible!) I am more the "hold down the fort during the day" girl if I have buddies to take the night shift... I don't mind staying late, or throughout the day, but overnight, I need a propoer sleep - mybody is getting too old. That being said, there isn't a lot I would camp out for.... anymore ;)

Anyhow - Here is a recent question from the site:
Any line advice! What should we bring if anticipating night-to-day waiting? Can you be comfortable and still save bag space?

Here are some highlights:
  • You should find some way to make your belongings work dual-purpose, so you aren’t bringing too much with you.
  •  Water and food are essential, because there’s hardly anything open that late/early.
  • Bring or make a good, honest buddy in line to watch your things for those unavoidable bathroom breaks.
  • take turns waiting in line and being able to head back to home/hotel to freshen up for the next day and/or sleep in a real bed for a couple hours.

And this was absolutely the best piece of advice and something every group should do...

Set up a schedule in advance if your group is more than 5 or so. Setting up a group/schedule leads to the next very important thing to do, and it’s in 2 parts. Part 1 – Have your entire group, or as many of you as possible, get in line at the start of your line waiting time. Part 2 – When you all get in line and more people get in line behind you, tell them if you will have more people joining you and how many, keep this as small a number as possible. Also tell them you’ll be taking shifts so there will be people coming/going throughout the night. This will help keep tempers from flaring when it looks like people are cutting, get you talking to people who are waiting in line for hours right next to you, and it’s just a nice thing to do.

More BD2 Camping Deets....

Awesome Amy (@OhMyCarlisle) blogged this last night on Page to Premiere:

Does Group number or the order in which you check in have any bearing on where you are placed during the premiere?

No. There’s no reason to be the first in line for your Group. There’s no need to line up early. You will just be wasting your own time. Fan placement along the red carpet during the premiere will be managed differently than it has in the past and where you end up pitching your tent will have no correlation to where you end up on the carpet. If you are in Group 1, which has a check in time of 8 – 10 AM, you will be fine if you show up at any time during that window.

Will I be able to charge my phone, tablet, etc. while at camp?

Yes, Summit is working on making charging accessible for campers.

Will they have enough room for me to camp?

Yes. Again, you don’t have to worry about being the first in line for your Group. They are prepared to handle the number of campers. If you have been assigned a Group number for camp, there is a spot for you.

Offical Breaking Dawn Part 2 Camping Rules from Summit

As of last night this was the information please note any changes since 9pm PST last night are not indicated on here because I queued it to postt this morning.....
Overview
Attention Twilight Fans, the World Premiere of The Twilight Saga finale, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2” is nearly upon us. In order to give all faithful fans a fair chance to take part in the festivities planned leading up to the premiere, Summit Entertainment is putting in place some new procedures for this year’s fan camping.

Due to the high demand to attend this year’s Fan Camp and the limited amount of space available,
FAN CAMP TICKETS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED THROUGH A RANDOM DRAWING OF ALL ELIGIBLE REGISTRATION SUBMISSIONS DURING THE REGISTRATION PERIOD.

The process to attend this year’s Fan Camp will happen in 4 phases:

Phase 1: Fan Camp Registration
Phase 2: Fan Camp Drawing
Phase 3: Fan Camp Ticket Notification
Phase 4: Fan Camp Check-in

There are approximately 1,200 Fan Camp tickets available in total. Each ticket is for one (1) spot at the Fan Camp. Fan Camp spots will be determined by a random drawing to be conducted after the Registration Period has closed. The winners of the drawing will be notified by email with instructions on how to pick up their tickets and when to report to Fan Camp for check-in.

This year all campers will be in the same Fan Camp area. Selection for a Fan Camp ticket does not guarantee eligibility for any other fan events, prizes or drawings. All special fan events and prizes will be determined by additional and separate random drawings.

Phase 1 – Fan Camp Registration
Fan Camp Registration will open at 12:00 PM PDT on Saturday, October 13, 2012 and will close at 12:00 PM PDT on Monday, October 15, 2012 (the “Registration Period”).
THE LINK TO THE FAN CAMP REGISTRATION SYSTEM WILL BE PUBLISHED ON THIS WEBSITE AT 12:00 PM PDT ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 13, 2012!
In order to register, fans must visit the registration page during the Registration Period and follow the instructions to fill out the registration form with the requested information, including, registration type. There will be 2 different types of registration:
1) Individual Registration – One (1) person registers for himself or herself only. The following information must be entered and must match the person’s ID when arriving at Fan Camp:
a. Full Name
b. Date of Birth
c. Email Address
d. Home Address

2) Group Registration – One (1) group manager registers for himself or herself and up to nine (9) guests (ten (10) people total). The following information must be entered for all members of the group including the group manager and all of the information listed for each member must match that member’s ID upon arrival:
a. Full Name
b. Date of Birth
c. Email Address
d. Home Address
Fan Camp Registration Rules

1. Fan Camp Registration will begin at 12:00 PM PDT on Saturday, October 13, 2012 and will end at 12:00 PM PDT on Tuesday, October 15, 2012 (the “Registration Period”). Registrations must be submitted during the Registration Period in order to be entered into the drawing.
2. Only one (1) entry per person will be accepted, regardless of which type of registration type is used. Only the first entry will be recognized and duplicate entries will be deleted, regardless of whether such duplicate entry is as an individual or as a member of a group. Names submitted during registration must match IDs. Registrants may be notified by email if we believe an entry is a duplication, in order to confirm eligibility.
3. Fans can register as a group at time of registration. All group members’ names must be submitted with the group applications. Groups will be limited to ten (10) members. If a group member has previously registered as an individual, that group member’s name will be removed from the group registration.

4. 1,200 spots are tentatively available at the Fan Camp. Camp spots will NOT be assigned as first come, first serve. Once registration has closed, we will conduct a random drawing of all registrations submitted during the Registration period in order to determine the 1,200 recipients of the Fan Camp spot tickets.

Phase 2 – Fan Camp Drawing
Following the close of registration at 12:00 PM PDT on Monday, October 15, 2012; all eligible registrations will be automatically entered into a random drawing system that will randomly assign Fan Camp tickets to registered individuals and groups.
Registered groups that are selected by the drawing will have their members ticketed together and assigned the same check-in time for Fan Camp.

Phase 3 – Fan Camp Ticket Notification
Registered individuals and groups that have been selected by the random drawing will be notified by email with their ticket details and assigned check-in times starting on or about Tuesday, October 16, 2012. Registrants that were not selected in the drawing will not be sent a notification.

If the email notification is returned as undeliverable, the ticket(s) will not be assigned to such registrant and an alternate registrant may be selected by random drawing.
Check-in times will be assigned and specified in the email notification.
Phase 4 – Fan Camp Check-in
The check-in times will begin at 8:00 AM PDT on Thursday, November 8. No lines will be recognized before this time and any ticketed guests that arrive before their assigned check-in time may be subject to disqualification from camping and may not be admitted into the Fan Camp.
Ticketed guests will be assigned one of the check-in time windows listed below. Ticketed guests must arrive during their designated check-in time.

8:00 AM PDT – 10:00 AM PDT: Group 1
10:00 AM PDT – 12:00 PM PDT: Group 2
12:00 PM PDT – 2:00 PM PDT: Group 3
2:00 PM PDT – 4:00 PM PDT: Group 4
4:00 PM PDT – 6:00 PM PDT: Group 5

Ticketed guests who do not arrive within their check-in time will forfeit their Fan Camp spot and the next registered guest/group in line will take such spot. In the event that that Fan Camp spots remain at the end of the entire check in, ticketed guests that failed to arrive within their check-in time may be given alternate Fan Camp spots if space permits. Only ticketed guests will be permitted into the Fan Camp, however, we reserve the right to admit non-registered guests at our discretion.

Thursday - Sunday in TentCity3

It has been a few days, I apologize it has been go go go, I have so many photos and things to share, most have been tweeted so check out my timeline for daily happenings.

Since it has been a few days I will try to go through as much as I can from the days...

THURSDAY

Thursday Morning the 6am non-line was a terrible mess. We were first told as JW MArriott hotel guests we could stay on property at our hotel and join the line at 6am when it was going to form. THEN we were told at 5:45am to go across the street to an empty parking lot to join a mob of 300+ people. The men instructing us in conflicting ways were not identified as even being associated with Summit, but some fans from past years recognized them and said they were legit....

We all stood in clusters in this parking lot off property and waited for isntructions that came few and far between from one man in a John Deere hat who would wander the lot talking to who ever was in ear shot. No mega phone, not even a loud voice... we relied on he-said rumours like a game of telephone as to what was going on.

One man was given the power to choose who he wanted to go in line first, while others sat in their groups quietly, hoping to be chosen. It felt like being picked last for the kick-ball team in school.

He was rude and degrading to some groups, calling the NZ boys "kiwi's your up" and "Florida, come on" or making groups do tricks "Say please in French" one group commented on this and he said "I like this power" it was unbelievable!

There was no rhyme or reason to how he chose people, our group was among many that obeyed his instructions and moved to the back of the mob, was quiet, didn't raise our hands or follow him around... yet we were among the last chosen for his line.

The first 500 or so were processed and set up in the plaza and LA Live. This became "Tent City 1"

After hours (no joke) with no information as to if we would get in, when we would get in, if there were multiple tenting areas, what was going on, many at the back of the line got angry. No one would give us information, many were interviewed by news reporters wondering why weren't as happy and excited as the front of the line or the people sitting outside their tents in the plaza....

Finally, Summit sent reps down to address our concerns and let us know there would be another location and there was only one person typing in each persons information and that was why it took so long (at this point is was about 2pm and we started the line 6am)

Around 4pm we were told they would just give us wristbands and we should come back ay 6:30pm and line up by number so they could process us in order at 7pm.

When we got our wristbands and went up to our hotel room we noticed the numbers were out of order. Our group had numbers ranging between 627 - 658 and there were only 12 of us.... the security just grabbed a bunch of wristbands randomly and handed htem out in no particular order...

At 6:30pm when I arrived they had began to pricess people who were there, not in order, into Camp City 2. There were people in the 660s in tent City 2 while people in the 620s were putinto Tent City 3.

We had been told we would be tent City 2 but when we were placed it was tent City 3 mainly because they started processing people before 7pm (before 6:30PM EVEN) and because wristbands had been handed out basically randomly after Tent City 1 filled up. (As seen when people in front of us got higher # wristbands than us, even though they were wristbanded 2 minutes before us??!)

We soon were deemed the "ghetto" or "section 8 housing" because not only were we the last to get our housing assigned... we didn't have a tent/canopy available until the next morning. We were told we could camp out tonight but we would need to tear down our tent at 6am and reset up at 9am after the large canopy was erected.

Fine.

That night they played Twilight on the big screen in tent city 1. Tent City 2 could also view it from their tents, but since tent city 3 was located down the street/around the corner, we were unable to view from our area. There was a small space between tent city 1 and 2 where we could bring our chairs to set up and watch. I tried to go watch with friends in tent city 1 and security told me "black wristbands were not allowed inside"

Of course the segregation of fans began as the pruple/black wristbands became labels as to who we were. It was ridiculous because we had purple wristbanders in tent city 3 camping yet with my black wristband we were somehow restricted from the tent cities with view of movies.

Regardless, we got tents set up and joined in shortly after the movie started.

There was popcorn from yahoo which all campers had access to as wella s starbucks mint hot cocoa or coffee which allw ristbanders had access to.

Jack Morrissey came and walked through tent city 1 and visited with fans and talked to us in the space between tent city 1 and 2 and things seemed to be ok.

Friday

The next morning the tent'/canopy did not start getting built until after 9am and wasn't finished until 2pm.

We sat on the sidewalk watching and waiting before we could move/set-up our tents and FINALLY be settled.

It was Day 2 (Friday) and while Tent City 1 and 2 had been settled for 24 hours, we were just now getting things organized. Still, it felt good to have a "home" at last.

We quickly bonded over the ordeal and joked we were Section 8 housing.

Friday night we got into Tent City 1 (Summit Reps clarified the wristbands were all access and not to "discriminate" against black wristbands) and we enjoyed watching New Moon from the side of Tent City 1. It felt nice being in the plaza with the 500 + campers of Tent City 1, like a real community because of how big and wide the space was.  Yahoo handed out cotton candy and we all had a blast.

When we walked back from the movie Kellan Lutz was by our tents. He had just arrived (his car parked at the end of the street where Tent City 3 is) and was walking towards the plaza with donuts. He had stopped to talk to a few fans in Tent City 3 who had skipped New Moon.

He handed out a few donuts and when he heard the movie was over he said he had to go to the plaza first but would be back on his way out.

We later learned via his twitter that he wasn't allowed to hand out the 50 dozen donuts he bought (he had only got thru one box with the few fans who had skipped the movie, before he was told he could not hand them out)

Anyways, Kellan was gone a while then, sure enough, on his way back to his car he walked our line of people and did a few autographs and photos before leaving. Just like he said he would do after he hit the plaza (Tent City 1)

It was a good thing he returned since only 30 or so fans had even seen him the first time around as most of us were at New Moon in the plaza.

Some think we got extra benefits because of the donuts or because we happened to see him briefly when he arrived, but mainly it was just circumstances that meant a few people (12) got donuts and saw him on his way to the plaza.

Saturday

Saturday morning Stephenie Meyer came with autographed Breaking Dawn books for everyone. Again the car parked at the end of the street so she walked past tent City 3 first on her way to the Plaza.

It was very cool because three (I think?) books had Golden Stickers inside them and those people won a meet and greet with Steph in the twi-fi lounge and also tickets to the premiere and the after-party!

WOW!

I knew one of the winners as the two guys from NZ (Jay & Rob) - they had been at the Convention and were memorable characters from Tent City 2.

Everyone was excited to have that once in a lifetime experience to meet Stephenie Meyer and get an autogrpahed book - absolutely amazing experience!

Later in the day there was a Soundtrack concert in front of Tent City 1 / in the plaza. Tent City 2 was behind the stage and tent City 3 down the street so both of us were moved to the pit between the stage and tent city 1 (the plaza) this was the same spot they set up the popcorn and cotton candy stands for movie nights.

We had a great time at the show. Charlie Bewley hosted and said some off the wall things as always. Mia Maestro performed along with Imperial Mammoth, Sleeping at Last, Cider Sky Band, Aqua Lung Music, Lucy Schwartz. It was so awesome to hear some real talent as well as live performances of songs from the movies. Rumours had been around Christina Perri and Bruno Mars may come, but those were false... just another example of how misinformation circulates = people should really get the facts before broadcasting information until it is confirmed... or state that it isn't confirmed.

I got some great photos I have finally uploaded to my laptop but still need to post... soon - i promise!

After the concert we returned to our tents and started thinking about dinner. All the resturants here have Happy Hours and we have been taking full advantage of them!

We noticed sonme posters near our tents. It was like Santa delivered us gifts. There were some Breaking Dawn posters left and two or three people even had a calendar lef toutside their tent door!! I got a Jacob poster, but that is cool because my daughter loves Jacob.

We saw Summit reps and thanked them for the goodies, we thought maybe it was something special because of the hell we experienced with no tents the first night etc. etc. but they said they had planned to do it for everyone anyways...

On our way to the plaza to choose which place to eat dinner we saaw some of the bands walking back to the parking garage and chatting with fans as they went. We talked to a few as we passed and even stopped to get a photo with Lucy Schwartz by tent city 1 / the plaza as she was near the registration desk talking to some fans.

Then we headed to dinner. Mexican food mmmm - I love guacamole!

We were a bit late to Eclipse and a bit tipsy from some super strong margarita's

I went to bed early because I was still feeling sick and the exhaustion was catching up to me.

Sunday

Today, Sunday, we woke up early and waited for the brunch rumoured to be coming along with 5 cast members.

Tent City 1 had moved early in the morning because they needed to set up for the black carpet/event Monday. They were now across/behind Tent City 2 on Staples Centre plaza.

Cast arrived and went to all three camps as we now formed a "U" shape around the street where tent city 3 is located.

Peter Facinelli, Booboo Stewart, MyAnna Buring, Casey LaBow, Jackson Rathbone were the cast and they were fabulous going through the line of fans autographing and taking photos (when their handlers would allow it - which wasn't too often but sometimes)

It was really a good time for all having the cast come out and spend time with fans.

Lot's of swag was handed out. Our particular area (Tent City 3) didn't get any of the posters as they went out at Tent City 1 first, but we did get cool Breaking Dawn fans. Some got t-shirts but it seemed they were limited and only did a few to each of the sections (Tent City1, 2, 3) and ALL the cast went to ALL the sections.... it was just amazing!

The only downside to that was the media in the street kind of blocking and taking time to interview the cast. Do not get me wrong, this is as much a media thing as a fan thing, but I think they could have had some time at the end to interview them not pull them from fans throughout.

After the exciting mornign we went for lunch then I fell asleep while uploading photos.

I am truly exhausted!

I am not sure what, if anything is planned tonight, I know there is apodcast with Yahoo hosted by Laura at Twilight Lexicon but not sure what else since there won't be movie night.

I am so excited for tomorrow.

I know it has been a crazy rollercoaster of a few days, with a rough start and some bumps along the way, but overall I am just happy to be here experiencing the good, the bad and the beautiful!

Tomorrow should be interesting. They are having fans arrive according to wristband #. The first group (#1-300) arrives 2pm, #301-600 arrives 2:30pm, #601-900 (that's me) arrives 3pm, #901-1200 arrives 3:30pm, #1201+ arrives 3:30pm.

So esssentially Tent City1, then 2, then 3, then late comers.....

We have no idea how they will place them but rumour is everyone will be happy and that the first 700 or so are red carpet and the rest bleachers.

I am hoping to have a ncie spot, though to be honest, I would be ok with first row or two int he belachers since I have been so sick, standing again for hours may kill me ha ha - but I will take whatever I get, I have come too far to not just go with the flow...

I promise to try and post some photos tonight if I can but as you can imagine by reading this (or even parts, I apologize it is so long) things have been hectic and I haven't had a lot of down time to sit and type :)

Thanks for reading, I wish you were all here to experience this craziness.... I am not sure I would do it again or not, I know there will be changes next year so perhaps I would give it another go - I have met the most amazing people and despite stupidity of some fans, overall, there are some incredible people here that are or have become life long friends!!

Thanks for Reading!

Breaking Dawn "Camping" Rules

Summit sent out these rules for the Breaking Dawn Premiere... Of course, their Ecipse rules were apparently not enforced, so let's see how this year rolls... Of course they just want publicity shots of crazed fans camped out for days - but if the line can't start until 6am Thursday and wristbands are issued then and there, wouldn't that mean that you could leave and return with wristband on event day? no?

And how the HALE are they going to keep people from milling about before 6am Thursday?
If I ruled the world - I would say line starts Thursday evening 6pm wristbands are given out... a day or two after... then you can leave until day of - that way they get their "promo" shots, fans get rest, everyone is happy - but this... this will not go smoothly ha ha

Here are their "Rules"

TWILIGHT Fans are allowed to begin lining up for camping in Tent City at NOKIA PLAZA L.A. LIVE at 6:00am PT on Thursday, November 10, 2011. No fans are allowed to line-up prior to that time.  The location and start of the official fan camp line will be set by Summit Event Security and all other non-official lines will not be recognized.

Overnight camping is allowed in designated areas only, starting in the Nokia Plaza. Please follow all directions advised by L.A. LIVE and Summit security. Please note, that special wristbands will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and each fan must be present to receive a wristband. Each wristband will be numbered and reserves a space in the Fan Viewing areas for the BREAKING DAWN – PART 1 Red Carpet arrivals in sequential order. Every individual who is granted access into Tent City will be entered into a database that matches them with their unique wristband number. The wristbands DO NOT enable access to the Movie Premiere.

Fans will be asked to change location as Premiere set up begins in the Nokia Plaza on Monday morning November 14 at 6:00am PT. This will be the only relocation during the camping event.

PARTIAL LIST OF RULES AND CODES OF CONDUCT:
·    ONLY Standard Sized Pop Tents will be allowed (4'x4' [16 sq. ft.] or less. No oversized tents, staked tents, etc., due to limited space)
·    ABSOLUTELY No Drugs or Alcohol allowed on premises
·    No Cooking On-Site or open flame
·    No horseplay. If anyone dumps food or beverages on another camper, they will be subject for removal
·    No amplified music. All music devices must be used with headset or earphone
·    Smoking in Designated Areas Only outside of the NOKIA Plaza boundaries
·    Fans are responsible for their own property. LA Live, AEG, nor Summit is responsible for any lost or stolen items
·    Everyone must please pick up after themselves. A fine will be enforced for anyone who litters on Nokia or LA City property
·    Please only use the restrooms designated for fans and respect the other area businesses
·    Guests must follow the rules and directions of L.A. LIVE Management/Summit Security at all times

THANK YOU for your cooperation and adherence to the above to help ensure a safe and entertaining experience for everyone!

WRIST BAND DETAILS AND EVENT DAY LINE UP TIMES

Twilight fans will be given wristbands starting at 6:00am PT on Thursday, November 10 2011. Wristbands MUST be worn until the premiere is over. Any wristband that has been tampered with or removed will NOT be considered valid. Any fan arriving without wearing the original wristband they were provided will not be allowed into the viewing area. There will be periodic spot checks through November 14, the day of the event.

Breaking Dawn Premiere Information

Summit announced today that the L.A. Premiere will take place at Nokia Theatre on Monday November 14, 2011.

Professional Premiere Campers TwiFans.com wrote this:

With LA Live being private property, you can be assured that we will be receiving rules for line up and camping. This is the same location that housed the 'Eclipse' premiere. It was not a favorite amongst fans for camping (read their blog with pros and cons here), but fans did love that with a theater that seats 6500 people, fans did like that a lot of fans did get to see the movie premiere in the same room as the stars themselves. Very cool for Summit Entertainment to do this for fans.

There have also been rumours that a Breaking Dawn Convention will take place Friday November 4 - Sunday November 6, 2011 in L.A.

Of course, after the premiere there is speculation that the promotional tour will head east for some NYC press on such shows as Regis & Kelly, Letterman, Today and so on. Nothing confirmed yet.

Within an hour of this announcement I got an email from the group I had planned to room with along with the hotel booking confirmation. Looks like I will be in L.A 9-15th at least. Possibly sooner if I can somehow swing the convention as well (depends ENTIRELY on work and time off) and hopefully a few days in NYC if I can.... already have a friend who will share the hotel, as well as a couple other friends who are planning to go....

How quickly things fall together eh? All we were waiting for was official confirmation, and I thank Summit *gasp, yes I said it* for providing the information today!

Twilight Comic-Con Line-Up

Comic-Con kicks off this week, and if you are one of the majority of people who are not attending, never fear, live coverage, tweets, streaming video, blogs, photos, videos and more.... will be here!

Besides the hundreds of media outlets, fan sites, fans and others who are attending, there is the massive take over of social media that will allow us to feel like we are there, while staying in our PJs watching from home.

Sure, it may not be as glorious as being there, seeing certain people in the flesh, but it's alot cheaper than hotel, airfare and trying to get tickets from the Comic-Con (EPIC FAIL THIS YEAR! - Trust, I tried... but more on that later)

Here is news on what and where to see and hear all the SDCC news as it happens....

First, who is there - - - Twilight Fans

Laura from Twilight Lexicon posted a video of the Comic-Con line so far - Tuesday evening... two days before the panel in Hall H.

Also, Twilight Lexicon, Twifans and others in line have shared some important information for anyone who is planning to "camp-out" for #TWISDCC

Important info for people looking to line up:

Chairs only! No tents allowed.
The lines have been moves under shaded party-type tents
Line is very peaceable and orderly.
Make sure you bring water, temp is good but easy to dehydrate out here.
Be nice to security and they will be nice to you.
Comic Con staff has been very nice and welcoming.

Man, I had planned to go as those who read regularily know, but had an epic fail as far as obtaining tickets... [we are talking website failures, waiting in queue for hours of resales, you name it - i tried it... and still came out empty - boo hiss]

But, there is good news - - - I still have stitches in my mouth from wisdom teeth surgery, and would NOT have planned to arrive until Wednesday afternoon, so I guess it worked out that I am not there this year, since I would be in pain and unable to camp TWO DAYS BEFORE HAND!!!

However, I do hope to attend next year, not just if Twilight has a panel (though it seems they would for Part 2 of Breaking Dawn non?) but for True Blood and numerous other "geeky" things I enjoy. Who is joining me and how can we get tickets ASAP?

I will say, this "camping" looks so much better than #WFENYC I mean, my first "camp out" for anything (other than concert tickets, back in the day before internet purchasing and such ha ha man I am dating myself) was such a horrible experience. I think FOX Films did a horrific job. The rain, the lightning, the lack of coverage, the lack of organization, the lies... the only good thing was the pizza. Even the end result was b.s. - a wristband to be caged in across the street... my girlfriend showed up an hour before the red carpet, got to meet Rob before he came over to the "cage" and even ended up with tickets to go inside - which none of the "caged" fans got, even though the FOX Rep said we would... gah! Yes I am still bitter - but at least I can laugh at the whole ordeal and shun FOX everytime I see a trailer for a new movie or show from them! BOO FOX!

Anyhow, moving on, I am thrilled at the set-up for Comic-Con "campers" especially because I know so many friends who are there or will be there.... it feels good to know they will be taken care of :)

Can't wait for tweets, photos, videos and more from SDCC this year!

SO excited for all my girls who are there - wishing them the very best of luck and success in the whole experience.... wooooo!!!

But, if youa re like me and NOT THERE - Don't fear... we will get all the goodness, albeit second hand. With twitter and live blogs and streaming video, I am thrilled that we won't even have to WAIT long to see everything the friends we are envious of for attending get to see...

MTV will have us covered (as will all the fansites and fans who are campingout and attending)

That’s right, Twilighters. MTV News is taking over Comic-Con and we’re starting with your favorite vampire romance. This Thursday at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT, we’ll kick-off our three-day “MTV News: Comic-Con Takeover” with a “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn—Part 1″ livestream extravaganza, featuring a full hour of interviews and a Q&A with the cast. And, of course, we want your input! Tweet your questions to @MTVNews using the hashtag #MTVSDCC, and a bloodsucker may just chew on your query!

Also EW will have a similar live stream:

EW will have live streaming video from their Comic Con 2011 lounge at The neighboring Hard Rock Hotel.

They will also be covering footage backstage, in the panels, and you can tweet them your questions. Find out how by watching the video on the EW site.

Then there are the usual fansites and fans... I suggest checking twitter #sdcc #twisdcc #twilight #breakingdawn as well as @twifans @twilightlexicon @twicrackaddict @robpattznews @twilightish and the major media outlets too.

BUt next year you can check @mandysmind and here because I MUST GO!!!!
