I Met Stephenie Meyer - Fan Girl Alert

When Stephenie Meyer was here for the filming of Twilight Saga New Moon I did not get to meet her. A few people saw her on the set of the high school scene for New Moon and it was said in interviews that she liked to come to town for her favourite scenes to watch them being filmed.

She is in town now and that made me guess that the scene being shot Friday or Monday was one of her favourites?!?! (Friday was Jake and Bella kissing on the mountain and also the tent scene)

or maybe she had a different reason to be here, either way she was indeed here last night....

She was in Vancouver again last May when the cast met for dinner and drinks at Blue Water Cafe in Yaletown and met Twilight Saga Eclipse director David Slade.

I know a few people saw Stephenie leave that night, but I wasn't one of them and I had been really disappointed. Meeting Stephenie was something I had always wanted, she is the heart, soul and mind behind The Twilight Series and I just thought it would be a dream come true to actually meet her.

Last night at the 100 Monkeys Show - I did!!!

I was coming down the stairs when a friend said to me "I think you just walked past Stephenie Meyer" I sais "WHAT?" she said "Stephenie Myer is right behind you" and sure enough I turned around and there she was standing with a few people who were getting her the VIP wristband to go up to the side stage.

I went up to her and said "When we are in a less busy area would it be ok to get a photo with you?" she said sure and smiled. They put on her VIP wristband and while I had planned to walk with her to outside to do the photo - by then people noticed her and started snapping photos. She had her wristband on and then leaned over to smile with me and so I took the photo. A lady with her moved my hand and said "That's not very nice" but Stephenie said it was ok and smiled. I thanked her and she was quickly escorted away. I told the lady with her that I had asked first... then the man she was with smiled at me and I told him that meeting Stephenie was one of the best things ever and I was so happy. He smiled and told me to enjoy the rest of my night :)

Gah - I have so many photos and videos from the concert, but I am exhausted and still haven't sat down to watch the VMAs or True Blood - so I am going to do that now and then tonight or tomorrow I will get alllll my photos and videos up.
