News From Forks

They have been busy in Forks lately. First they have moved the Forks sign that was on the South side of town. They recently moved the one of the North side of town as well so that fans no longer had to climb a hill to get to it. According to the Forks Forum(Photo credit Chris Cook):

“Bill Sperry told Forks Chamber of Commerce members on Wednesday that lights are being installed to highlight the signs at night. He said the Forks Revitalization Committee and the City of Forks are working together on the project.

The south side sign was formerly located in a marshy area which lacked safe parking for fans to pull over. The new location of the sign is located adjacent to the Forks Timber Museum and near the Forks Chamber of Commerce’s Visitor Center. Both locations provide paved, off-road parking for visitors.”

Forks is also preparing for a visit from the Showtime Network. Twilight will debut exclusively on Showtime come January. Showtime has been busy shooting footage of fans at events like the Official Twilight Tour run by Creation Entertainment, and now they are making a trip to Forks to add to their coverage.

Men's Health Magazine Repeats Cover

Sounds like Laziness to me....

Men's Health repeated an extremely similar cover with Taylor Lautner in December 2009 compared to a cover in December 2007 with Jason Statham.

Men's Health response? "The magazine's editor tells Mediaitethat the recycling is an intentional stunt, and that they sent an alternate cover to subscribers. "Rest assured-it's this originality and reporting rigor that's made us the biggest men's magazine brand in the world," says editor-in-chief David Zinczenko. "

Taylor Lautner Interview from Shark Boy Days

This feels so wrong....

Long before 17-year-old teen idol Taylor Lautner dreamed of hosting “Saturday Night Live” on December 12th, or starring in Twilight movies, he was interviewed by examiner Jack Dennis in Austin, Texas.

Jack Dennis (JD): So what do you think of being at a carnival for a premiere?

Taylor Lautner (TL): Oh, it’s really fun. Everyone is having a good time and it’s so nice here. We are excited to be here meeting everyone. This was a good idea. It’s fun signing autographs and it’s nice to see the others. It is a fun experience.

JD: So who is asking for autographs more, the boys or the girls?

TL: (laughs) Mainly, uh, the boys. But, you know, I sign for the girls too. (Grins and laughs again). But it is kind of weird. I’m not use to it. It’s hard to believe they really want my autograph or picture, but it’s fun.

JD: I am about to go in and see the movie, but what can you tell me about your character before I go in there?
TL: Well he’s this superhero. And he is made up in the dreams of a boy name Max, played by Cayden (Boyd). He dreams up Shark Boy and Lava Girl. I am this very self-confident superhero, but sometimes I, or my character Shark Boy, gets way too confident and that gets everything into trouble. And Shark Boy is sort of jealous of Max and goes into these shark frenzies, and stuff and bites bars and can rip stuff up. It was a lot of fun.”

JD: How did you get the role of Shark Boy?
TL: Well I audition for a lot of things and always hear no, no, no so many times. But after I auditioned for this, I got a call-back to meet with Robert (Rodriguez) and his son, Racer (8 years-old at the time). You see, it was Racer’s idea that started the whole idea for the movie. I Robert held up some pictures of the kids who auditioned and had call-backs so he asked Racer which one he liked. They said they pointed to me and Robert told Racer that is what he was thinking too. When we found out I had the party the whole family just freaked. It was hard to sleep for a while. (Laughs)

JD: Do you have a favorite memory or favorite part in this movie?
TL: Wow. That is hard. There are so many. Well, I do extreme martial arts so I got to do a bunch of acrobatics, flips and stuff for the camera. I got to choreograph my own stunts and really enjoyed the flips. Had to climb up this big ice pillar and get the crystal heart, and we get to slide down in harnesses. But I also liked working on the wires were we jumped off cliffs or fell off of high spots and things. We would hang upside like bats and it was just a lot of fun. The hardest stunt was probably running to a volcano because I’m up there on wires and running on this treadmill going like 99 miles per hour. It wore me out and was very tiring because I had to do it for so long. Fun, but tiring, you know. But I am in good shape because, although I have not really had the time anymore for extreme martial art competitions, I still train at my house.

Well, we bet it's more the girls asking for autographs now!!

David Slade Tweets about Eclipse - exciting

I am so excited, more about Eclipse than I was about New Moon. I am excited to see the backstories of the Cullen's and the newborn vampires emerging from the water on the beach where my husband proposed to me. I am excited to see Xavier Samuel as Riley and the new Victoria take over Rachelle's role. I am thrilled to see the fight scenes and the Cullen's in "street clothes" for training. I am pumped to see more of the Cullen's with speaking roles. I can't wait for the tent scene and the banter between Jacob and Edward. The love triangle, the graduation, just - EVERYTHING!

Top 10 Twilight References on Tv

MTV posted the Top 10 Twilight References on Tv. It's an awesome list here you go:

Though "New Moon" dominated the box office for weeks, the theater wasn't the only place to find Edward, Bella and Jacob making a splash. It seems some of our favorite TV shows are just as obsessed with Stephenie Meyer's fantastical creation as we are. In honor of "Twilight" star Taylor Lautner's hosting gig on this weekend's "Saturday Night Live" (and in the hopes that we'll have another entry to add to this list), we've rounded up 10 totally "Twilight" TV shoutouts (in no particular order).

1. "The Office"

The NBC series gets not one, but two gold new moons—see what I did there?—for their hilarious "Twilight" twofer. The first took place during the Halloween episode "Koi Pond" when the employees of Dunder Mifflin organized a haunted house featuring two bloodsuckers—a traditional Count Dracula (Creed Bratton) and one we can only assume was meant to be Edward Cullen (B.J. Novak). When the Count cries "I want to suck your blood!" Edward (a.k.a. Ryan) responds, "That's really not the trend in vampires right now." So true! And then, just last night, Jim (John Krasinski) bought Kelly (Mindy Kaling) an Edward Cullen poster. We knew we loved this show for a reason!

2. "Vampire Diaries"

Skewering its vampire competition (and arguably the franchise that cleared the way for the series' own success), bloodsucker Damon (Ian Somerhalder) cozies up to a copy of Stephenie Meyer's original tome. "What's so special about this Bella girl?" Damon asks his human chew toy Caroline (Candice Accola). "Edward's so whipped." When she asks why he doesn't sparkle in the sun, he responds, "Because I live in the real world where vampires burn in the sun."

3. "Jeopardy"

I'll take Robert Pattinson for $200, Alex. Oh, if only. During the quiz show's recent Teen Tournament an entire category was dedicated to "Twilight" The Novel. Any die-hard fan would have made it to Final Jeopardy with these easy peasy questions. We won't give away the answers in case you want to play along.

4. "Cougar Town"

Who knew Courtney Cox was a Twilight Mom? On the Nov. 4 episode, 40-something Jules (Courtney) confessed to hunky neighbor Grayson that she had a naughty dream about him. When he seemed a little too pleased with himself, she deflated his puffed-chest with this laughable admission: "Relax stud, I have sex dreams about everybody—the president, Gene Simmons, Edward from 'Twilight.' Oooh, that sweet Edward." But seeing as Edward is really in his 100s, that doesn't make Jules much of a cougar after all.

5. "SNL"

It took the usually timely sketch-comedy series a year after the first film's release to lampoon it, but "SNL" finally sank its teeth into "Twilight" with the awesome parody "Firelight." Perhaps it was worth the wait just to see Taylor Lautner's maybe-girlfriend Taylor Swift brood as Bella Swan.

6. "Criminal Minds"

During an investigation, the crew attempts to hack into a laptop and has success with the password "Cullen," much to the consternation of Dr. Spencer Reid (a.k.a. our past Hump Day Hottie Matthew Gray Gubler). "What's 'Twilight'?" he asks. Oh, where to even begin? We guess that guest appearance by Jackson Rathbone last season didn't leave much of an impression on Spencer, huh?

7. "90210"

Dunder Mifflin employee Ryan wasn't the only one to dress as a "Twilight" universe member this Halloween. So did Liam (Matt Lanter) on "90210." OK fine — not really. Still, during the show's costume party—the one in which Teddy (Trevor Donovan) is indeed garbed like Count Dracula—Liam is asked by a party-goer if he's supposed to be a certain bed-headed Brit. "You're Rob Pattinson, right? I can tell, 'cause you have messy hair." That's what you get for wearing flannel in Beverly Hills.

8. "Hannah Montana"

Miley Cyrus' now-defunct Twitter account isn't the only place she name drops RPattz. In an episode of her Disney series, Miley talks about potentially being set up with Rob. Real-life Miley, however, didn't feel the warm fuzzies for the actor until a few months ago tweeting, "Gave a hug to Rob Pattinson today. Ok girls I get it now. So cute. Sorry 'Robby' bout all my bashing in my past : )."

9. "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon"

Host Jimmy Fallon must really enjoy hanging from trees and affecting a British accent, because he's made his gag "Robert is Bothered" a recurring bit on his show. After taking jabs at sharks and Snickers, our favorite is still the original when RPattz rumbles with "Harry Potter" costar Daniel Radcliffe.

10. "Attack of the Show"

Though the final installment of the "Twilight Saga" has yet to be greenlit for the big screen, the folks over at G4 wasted no time putting together a "Breaking Dawn" spoof featuring Peter Facinelli. It must be seen to be truly appreciated — watch now!

Did we leave off any of your favorite "Twilight" TV shoutouts?

Anna Kendrick in Vanity Fair

Every month, the first page of Vanity Fair's "Vanities" section features an up-and-coming actor with a hotly anticipated project in the pipeline. Anna is the one featured for January.

Here is what Vanity Fair had to say:

Age: 24
Provenance: Portland, Maine

It’s a vampire world and we’re just dying in it: Kendrick made her name in the original Twilight movie—“I had no idea; none of us knew”—as mere mortal Jessica Stanley, “Bella’s friend from school.” She reprises the role in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, in theaters now.

For the adults in the audience...Kendrick shines as George Clooney’s tightly wound underling in Jason Reitman’s well-timed dramedy about corporate cost-cutting, Up in the Air, which is already generating Oscar buzz. “I was shooting them both at the same time,” says Kendrick. “It was great because my character in Up in the Air is so rigid, and it was fun to go to Vancouver [to the set of New Moon] and play the silliest girl on the planet!”

Billy Burke interview and photoshoot

Billy Burke can be seen on the big screen playing Charlie Swan on the Megahit Twilight. Suave, debonair and handsome are words that describe his persona. He reminds us of a modern Cary Grant—classic in nature and extremely down to earth.

What is your philosophy on life?
Do not under any circumstances, get fooled into taking yourself seriously enough to think that your “philosophy on life” will ever be implemented enough to make any significant difference in ANYONE’S existence– especially your own.

Who or what inspires you?
Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows. Seriously, I don’t mean to take the piss out of this question but as I see it, inspiration is a completely subjective concept. Anyone who says that they are consistently inspired by anything, will ultimately end up a liar. Inspiration by nature, is an accident. It happens when you least expect it and with any luck, when you most need it. Shame on me if I ever put the responsibility to inspire me on anyone else’s shoulders.

How did you get into acting?
I fucked a casting director. Again, kidding. What’s funny is that people actually think it’s as easy as that. I wish.

To be honest, aside from high school drama class, I’ve never even met an acting teacher, so it had nothing to do with honing any sort of craft. (I sincerely hope that no one who reads this, takes that as advice). Early on, I felt pretty confident that if I could somehow get myself some opportunities, my abilities would speak for themselves. I’m a big believer in trusting one’s own instincts.

If being an actor is something that you MUST do, there is nothing more valuable than persistence. Talent, a lot of the time, is virtually worthless. Making your own luck is paramount. Aside from that, you must be willing, for a large part of your life to sacrifice pretty much everything that’s not life or death.

Truth is, I’m never NOT acting. I’m acting right now. From the moment I wake up, I’m playing one role or another, sometimes intentionally, sometimes not. I really don’t know how I’ve managed to make a living at it. It’s certainly never a breeze but it’s a sweet life if you can develop the stomach for it. There must be a part of me that enjoys perpetual heartache.

If you weren’t an actor, what would you be?
Most likely, I’d be asleep. But I would have liked to have had some success in music. Tell us about your singing background. I understand that you were part of a band before? Yeah, I spent the early years playing in a couple different variations of rock bands back in Seattle. I moved to L.A. just before the music explosion occurred up there. We actually shared a rehearsal space with the guys who became ALICE IN CHAINS. When their first album hit, I realized that the stuff my band was doing would never have been a part of that movement.

I still write and play my own songs. Mostly piano based tunes you’d hear in a shitty, downtown bar at closing time. Someday I’ll get off my ass and make a record or two of my own.

ANTM Nicole Fox couldn't talk to RPattz

I loved Nicole, I wanted her to win and she did... yay! She was always awkward so this story is not shocking to me....

Winning the 13th Cycle of America's Next Top Model didn't really change Nicole Fox all that much, because she still remains as awkward as ever. Especially when stumbling upon stars like Robert Pattinson. Caught backstage, Hollywood hotshot a few steps away, what would Bloody Eyeball do?

The CW Source cites a news report from E! Online with this answer: she just bowed her head and walked away. Well, we couldn't possibly expect the dorky redhead to squeal in delight.

Petite model Nicole Fox had just made an appearance at Regis & Kelly when she went behind the scenes and ran into the Twilight star. "I was backstage going to the bathroom--in a bathroom I probably wasn't supposed to be using," she told the publication. "But when I came out, [Robert Pattinson] was in the hallway, like two feet away from me, [just] standing there."

She already had enough to worry about regarding her interview, so she wasn't able to gather her courage and talk to Pattinson. "He was surrounded by his throng of people," the America's Next Top Model winner explained. "And so I didn't want to feel like a dorky fangirl. I just looked down at my shoes and walked away."

Truth be told, Nicole wasn't really that big a fan in the first place. "I haven't seen the Twilight movies or anything like that. But I definitely have friends who are obsessed," she said.

She then explained how she recognized the actor. "For this Halloween, actually, I helped out one of my friends with her costume. She wanted a bigger-than-life portrait drawn of Robert Pattinson on her shirt. I drew that portrait--which is partially why I recognized him when I saw him in the hallway. I was like, Oh! That hair! I know that hair. I've drawn that hair!"

But seeing Pattinson up close definitely had an effect on the 18-year-old. "Perhaps I will begin to watch the Twilight movies n w that I saw him in real life," Nicole added. More money for the vampires then.

Pierce Brosnan talks about Remember Me and Robert Pattinson

Pierce Brosnan mentioned Rob and Remember Me in a recent interview with The Daily Record (UK)

Next year, he will be seen in a new film with Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson, called Remember Me.

Of course, to younger film fans, the most important thing is that he’s worked with Robert Pattinson, the heartthrob star who plays Edward in Twilight.

“I think when you see Remember Me, you’ll see Robert giving a fantastic performance. He’s really working hard to work on his performance and acting and who he is.”

Bryce Dallas Howard discusses Victoria Character

MTV writes:

NEW YORK — When "Spider-Man 3" actress Bryce Dallas Howard was tapped to replace Rachelle Lefevre as vampire Victoria in the third "Twilight" film, "Eclipse," the 28-year-old didn't need a last-minute study session to ace her character. She was already a fan of the wildly popular series.

"I had already read the books. I had actually seen 'Twilight' several times, much to my husband's chagrin," Howard told MTV News while promoting her upcoming release, "The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond." "Whenever Robert Pattinson would come onscreen, I would grab my husband's hands and start squeezing, and he'd be like, 'Stop squeezing my hand!' "

Though Howard felt intimidated joining the tight-knit cast so close to the start of production, one of her biggest challenges may have been maintaining continuity between Lefevre's Victoria and her portrayal of the revenge-bent bloodsucker. While Howard and Lefevre share similar physical traits, including signature flaming-red tresses, Howard put much care toward embodying the already-established character.

"The visual continuity of the character of Victoria is really important because such a distinctive character had been created that the fans and the audience had really connected to," Howard explained. "She's really described perfectly in the book. So that's what's really important to everybody, that there's an authenticity to bringing these characters to life. It's not really an interpretation. It's like a true representation of what's written on the page, so that's obviously incredibly important to preserve."

Martini-Mandy is my new blog

I promise no neglect to this blog, just wanted a place to do non-twilight, non-celeb, non-tv stuff :P

Kellan Lutz wants to be Captain America

Earlier today, we told you that "Chuck" star Zachary Levi wants a shot at bringing Captain America to the big screen, but he's not the only angling to play Marvel's star-spangled hero. You can add "Twilight" actor Kellan Lutz to the mix, too.

"I'd love to be 'Captain America' someday," Lutz told gossip blog The Dishrag in a post-"New Moon" interview.

Lutz, who played vampire Emmett Cullen in each of the "Twilight" films, would certainly be an unexpected choice for the role — but without any official casting for the film, it stands to reason that anyone's fair game at the moment.

I think he'd be great in that role - thoughts?

Bryce Dallas Howard discusses replacing Rachelle Lefevre in Twilight Saga

Bryce Dallas Howard replaced Rachelle Lefevre as villainous vampire Victoria due to scheduling conflicts. Howard revealed that the prospect of taking over the role Lefevre originated in both "Twilight" and "New Moon" was a bit daunting.

"It was actually a really unfortunate circumstance where the actress who everyone really cared deeply about, who has done an amazing job in this role, was unavailable," Howard said, explaining her last-minute casting. "They were looking for someone to fill that slot. It was right before production actually happened, so of course there was intimidation there and feeling a huge responsibility to do my best."

Bella's Stunt Woman Crystal Dalman

Canadian stunt woman Crystal Dalman landed an awesome role as Bella's stunt double for Twilight Saga New Moon which filmed in Vancouver last Spring.

High School student Rheanna Toy met with Dalman at a Calgary coffee shop to interview her an article which was published in You Think November 2009 Edition. The discussed what it is like being a stunt woman and how it was filming Bella's imfamous motorcycle fall.

Dalman spent days rehersing to prepare for the stunt and started with cardboard boxes to land in. The day of, however, there were no cardboard boxes. Dalman told Toy "I was scared. I was very nervous. There's a sense of adrenaline in your body. And sometimes you're even like, 'Why am I doing this?' You know it's gonna hurt, but I guess that's the difference between stunt people - we're a different breed of people. We crave the adrenaline."

She has a petite frame, similar to Kristen Stewarts and for such a small package she sure packs a big punch.

Dalman's IMDB boasts a number of shows and movies she has provided stunt work for including, I, Robot, X-Men, The Watchmen and 2012.

The motorcycle scene in New Moon is one of my personal favourites, mainly because of that awesome shirtless scene with Taylor lautner as Jacob Black, but what does Dalman say about the motorcycle scene in which she rode and fell off the bike as Bella's stunt woman?

"I've always loved riding motorcycles and doing motorcycle stuff, but the sequence with Bella pushed me to a certain limit that I don't get to get pushed to a lot of times."

I am always interested in this behind the scenes information. After watching New Moon film locally, I have begun to pay more attention to these things and realize how intricate and complicated making a movie truly is.

[You Think]

You Think has Exclusive Interview with Twilight New Moon Cast

You Think got exclusive interviews with some of the cast - here is their report:

According to the Cast of Twilight …

“Twilight.” At the mere sound of this eight-letter word, we hear teen girls all across the world squeal in delight. As Michael Welch (who plays Mike Newton) puts it, an iconic thing like Twilight is rare: “There are only a few of these in a generation.”

After the success of the first movie, fans are anxiously awaiting the second installment of this insanely popular saga, New Moon, set to be released on November 20th. Just last month, Youthink got exclusive interviews with some of the cast, and I got the chance to talk to Anna Kendrick (Jessica Stanley), Michael Welch (Mike Newton), Alex Meraz (Paul), Edi Gathegi (Laurent), Justin Chon (Eric Yorkie),and Christian Serratos (Angela Weber) about all things Twilight.

ANNA KENDRICK (Jessica Stanley)

YT: Tell us about New Moon. Why should teens go see it?
AK: Well, um, it’s a vampire werewolf love triangle. I can’t imagine what teens wouldn’t like.

YT: What was your favourite scene to shoot in the movie?
AK: There’s a scene where Jessica and Bella go to the movies and Jessica, being her typical self, kind of doesn’t stop talking about herself. And that was a really fun little monologue to shoot. We did that all as just one take. I’m looking forward to what exactly I said while I just continually rambled while the camera rolled.

YT:That must’ve been fun. How was it working with a different director from Twilight?
AK: It’s fun ... I mean, one of the really interesting perk on working with this franchise, we got to work with Catherine Hardwicke, Chris Weitz and now David Slade. It’s not a bad gig. Chris was a really cool guy. He liked to kind of let us play in the same way that Catherine let us play. From everything that I hear, he did a great job, from the cast that has seen it. They say it looks amazing.

YT: I’m excited to see it too. What was it like playing Jessica? Are you guys similar in any way?
AK: You know, I think I certainly was a far cry from the alpha female type when I was in high school, to the point where I wasn’t really even sure that I should be playing the character. I was kind of surprised that I was cast. But, it’s a fun world to escape into. I think Jessica represents all the kind of petty aspects of ourselves. I think Bella is who we aspire to be and Jessica is the part of ourselves we try to hide away. As far as being a fashionista and kind of boy-crazy girl, I was certainly not like that in high school.

YT: Cool, that’s good to know. So, what was it like filming in Vancouver?
AK: It’s beautiful here! So beautiful. Portland and Oregon, Washington were beautiful too, but we’re having a great time here. A lot of locations that they’re shooting at are absolutely breathtaking.

YT: Did you know Twilight was such a big phenomenon before you started filming?
AK: No, no, we did not. I mean, we knew the books had a really loyal following. But it’s always hard to tell how much of that is just a few really intense fans or if it’s actually a bigger phenomenon. None of us were prepared for the reaction. I mean, it was a fun surprise.

YT: How did your family and friends react to the Twilight fever?
AK: I think they are kind of as baffled as I was, and I constantly get text messages from friends saying they just saw a life-sized cut-out of Edward Cullen, and they see girls with Twilight t-shirts and I mean, you know we all kind of have that same reaction. Like, we just can’t believe it.

YT: How do you guys get along as a cast?
AK: Great! Everybody’s so friendly and we’ve been really lucky with so many young people, especially young people who are kind of becoming overnight sensations. Everybody stayed really down-to-earth and cool. It’s a joy to work with them.

YT: So, since Twilight, how has your career changed as an actor? What have been the benefits?
AK: You know, as far as a direct change, I’m not really sure. I mean, I think there’s been a lot more people stopping me in the street and stuff. You know, it’s a lot more people wanting to take pictures with me, which is equally strange.

YT: What do you see happening in the future? Will you be acting in the upcoming sequels?
AK: Well, we’re shooting Eclipse right now. But, you know, they don’t tell us anything about Breaking Dawn, because they want to keep us guessing.

MICHAEL WELCH (Mike Newton)

YT: Tell us about New Moon. Why should teens go and see it?
MW: Well, if you liked Twilight (laughs), you’ve got all the same characters you’ve grown to love and plus of course we’re bringing in the wolf pack. And, I can just tell you overall it’s going to be a much better film, I think there was a lot more put into the production quality and the value, and you know, I gotta tell you, Taylor has worked really hard to look really good. So, if you need any more incentive ... (laughs)

YT: Well, what was your favourite scene to shoot in the movie?
MW: My favourite scene was the three-way date at the movies between Bella, Jacob, and Mike. Mike had asked Bella out to go see a movie, and she tried to turn it into a group thing, and it ended up being the worst possible scenario. The horribly awkward three-way date. And of course, for those who have read the book, Mike gets sick and it’s just - it doesn’t turn out well for Mike, as usual. So, probably not a whole lot of fun for Mike to experience, but it was certainly a lot of fun for me to do.

YT: Since Twilight, how has your career changed as an actor?
MW: Yeah, I mean, I’ve been acting since I was a little kid and it’s my life. It’s what I love to do. But, nothing has come along that has been even close to Twilight. I’ve been getting all kinds of opportunities that I probably otherwise wouldn’t have gotten. I was just recently able to play a lead in a film which was a really great experience, and you know probably for the rest of my life, any role I get from here on, I will be able to at least partially attribute to Twilight. So, I’m very grateful to be a part of it.

YT: How was it like working with a different director from Twilight?
MW: It’s cool, I mean Catherine was a really great director. She’s very smart. Her style is almost on the verge of being chaotic, which is an interesting way of working. But it works well for her, and we sort of figure it out as we go along.

But this new director, Chris Weitz, is the exact opposite. He is very meticulous in terms of planning and preparations. He gave everyone a binder like fifty pages long, explaining what he wants the film to look like, feel like, what his vision is, and what he expects from all of us, which sort of gave us all an idea of what to expect, so we were all on the same page. So, by the time we got on the set, it was just a very relaxed and calm atmosphere, and everything was mapped out for us. So, we just had to show up and have a good time. So, it was a totally different experience. I mean, both were really great.

YT: How much like Mike Newton are you? Are you a hopeless romantic like him?
MW: I am (laughs), I do consider myself a hopeless romantic. Like Mike, I had a very similar experience in high school. There was a girl that I was totally head over heels in love with who just happened to be in love with somebody else. So, it was sort of very easy for me to tap into that aspect of Mike at least. But, things worked out great for me. In high school, because everything is so heightened, you just assume that, you know, you’ll never find somebody who you'll feel that way about again. I certainly did, there’s somebody I’ve been with for almost four years now. And I’m sure Mike will too. (laughs)

YT: What was it like filming in Vancouver?
MW: Oh, it’s great. I love Vancouver! This is probably my fifth or sixth time in Vancouver and it’s a really great city. It’s got a good energy and it’s really young. It’s just a lot to do and a lot of really good food and places to hang out and it’s just a great little city.

YT: Did you know Twilight was such a big thing before you started filming?
MW: Well, you know, I knew that it was a very successful series of books, but you never really know how that kind of success is going to translate into films. So, I think we all had an idea that there was potentially something really great here. But I don’t think any of us were able to anticipate the kind of response we got. I think it’s difficult to see something like this coming. I mean, I think at this point we know probably, a little more what to expect for New Moon. Twilight was like brand new for all of us.

YT: How do you guys get along as a cast?
MW: Very well. For those of us who were in the original movie, we’ve all sort of gone through this journey together. None of us really had a taste of fame coming into it and it’s been a great bonding experience for all of us to be on the same path and to go through a similar thing. Everybody who’s been brought on, like the wolf pack guys, for New Moon are fantastic, and now that we’re working on the third film, the cast is even bigger. You know, we just welcome people in with open arms. It’s like a big extended family at this point.

YT: Have you read all the books yourself?

MW: I’ve read the first three. I’ve tried to just read one book at a time as we’re doing the films, because I didn’t want to get ahead of the story, in case there were any major revelations that happened, but I get the sense with Mike, you know, probably (laughs) not a lot of changes are going to happen over time, particularly, you know, to the fourth book. I don’t think that Mike is going to go through a whole lot. I just made that decision early on, and I’m just sticking to that.

YT: What do you see happening in the future? Will you be acting in the upcoming sequels?
MW: You know, I don’t know. I certainly hope so. But you know, either way, I’m just grateful that I got to have a small part in this incredibly, I don’t know, this thing that has turned into an iconic little franchise, you know. Something like this doesn’t come around very often. It’s just a few of these in a generation, and I just couldn’t be happier to be a part of it.

ALEX MERAZ (Paul) / EDI GATHEGI (Laurent)

YT: So, tell us about New Moon. Why should teens go and see it?
AM: Why should teens go and see it? Um, (laughs) because it’s good.
EG: Short and sweet.
AM: No, no. I want to say something, but I’m afraid it’s going to come out sounding pompous. I think they should see it if they are interested and it’s a really good romance story with a lot of action and adventure.

YT: What was it like filming in Vancouver?
EG: Uh, (laughs) it was cold.
AM: Yeah, it was very cold. And you know, I’m shirtless throughout all my scenes and the whole point of it was to act like I was warm in all my scenes.

YT: How do you guys get along as a cast?
EG: I think we get along wonderfully.
AM: Yeah, we’re all young adults that are passionate about the work, and everybody has a great attitude, so people are easy to connect with.
EG: Definitely. I agree.

YT: Did you know Twilight was such a big phenomenon while filming?
AM: I’m sure Edi knew! (laughs) Because the first one was probably not as crazy as the second one, would you say?
EG: Yeah, I guess.

YT: How did your family and friends react to the Twilight fever?
AM: For me, my family didn’t even know what Twilight was, to tell you the truth. They’re more into crazy, you know, adult kind of films. You know, just different things. But, when they looked into it and once Twilight came out onto DVD and they watched it, they were like “Oh my god. This is really good!” And they were really happy and excited and proud for me to be a part of it. So, now, they’re very supportive.

YT: How is it like working with a different director from Twilight?
EG: Well, every movie I’ve ever done has a different director, so the idea that it’s got to have the same director is just because it’s the same series. But, it just feels like I’m working on another project. It’s natural to me.

YT: Since Twilight and New Moon, how have your careers changed as actors?
EG: I’m totally famous now (laughs). You know, you get to travel a lot, you get to see different parts of the world, meet different people and it has opened many doors career-wise for me.
AM: Yeah, for me as well. That’s what this franchise has brought to a lot of actors that are involved with it. You know, a lot of really good, solid opportunities.

YT: Last question: What do you see happening in the future? Will you be acting in the upcoming sequels?
EG: Alex will.
AM: Um, yeah. I will because you know, I kill off Edi. (laughs) With the help of like thirty other werewolves. (laughs)
EG: I can’t really speak on other stuff. Right now, I’m just focused on New Moon and the work we did on it was great.

JUSTIN CHON (Eric Yorkie) / CHRISTIAN SERRATOS (Angela Weber)

YT: So, tell us about New Moon. Why should teens go and see it?
JC: New Moon is awesome! It’s going to be a great film! I’m positive Chris Weitz has done an amazing job! He’s a really good director, and he’s experienced in this type of film with a lot of action, so we’re both excited to see it ourselves.

YT: What was it like working with Chris Weitz, who was a different director from Twilight?
CS: It’s been great. We’re working with really awesome people and we’re getting to hang out with each other again, so it’s great.
JC: And they just bring different perspectives, and you know, I just again think Chris has done an amazing job. He’s really going to bring the werewolves to life and accentuate the conflict between Bella, Jacob, and Edward.

YT: What was your favourite scene to shoot in the movie?
JC: I think we’re really looking forward to Bella’s cliff dive, and also Jacob riding his motorcycle.

YT: Cool, I’m excited to see that, too! What was it like filming in Vancouver?
JC: Vancouver is great! You know, the air’s so clean here.
CS: We’re up by the water, and there’s so many interesting eateries.
JC: People are nice. And the weather’s actually better than it was in Portland and Washington.

YT: How do you guys get along as a cast?
JC: Oh, we’re all great friends.

YT: Did you know Twilight was such a big phenomenon before you started filming?
JC: No! I had no idea. If I’d known, the way I would have auditioned would have been different because it would’ve been too much pressure.
CS: I messed up my audition.

YT: But you still got the part! How did your family and friends react to the Twilight fever?
CS: They’re very supportive. Yeah, my family has been extremely supportive. Everyone’s hooting and hollering, and saying “Good job.”
JC: My sister’s a huge fan of the books, so she couldn’t even believe I was a part of this thing. She invited herself to the first premiere. Hopefully, she doesn’t force her way into making me take her to the New Moon premiere, too.

YT: What’s your favourite quote from the Twilight books?
CS: When Edward left Bella the note on her pillow saying, “Look after my heart. I’ve left it with you.”

YT: That one is adorable. Since Twilight and New Moon, how have your careers changed as actors?
JC: I think it’s pretty similar right now. I’m definitely an auditioning actor. So, you know, I’m still auditioning. It’s opened doors, though, so people can take a second look at my work. I’m looking forward to going back, and getting back out there. Seeing what else there is for me out there.

YT: Last question: What do you see happening in the future? Will you be acting in the upcoming sequels?

CS: Yeah, I would love to. You know, that would be fantastic.
