#TrueBlood at #SDCC 2013

I was sitting FRONT ROW in Ballroom 20 for the True Blood panel that started off with Joe Manganiello blowing me a kiss. (I blew one first and he returned it, apparently, I was in heaven and now exactly feeling anything but bliss ha ha)

Some highlights included:
  • Michael McMillian and Anna Camp banter as Steve and Sarah Newlin.
  • Rob Kazinsky and Ryan Kwantlen discussing the preparation for their "shaving" scene together (homoerotic dream 'Jason' has about 'Ben')
  • Anna Paquin talking about Sookie always being in danger, and finally learning somethings after everything she has been through.
  • Brian Buckner said they would 'return to their roots' with on central storyline versus the multiples as of late. (Thank Billith!)
“We’re going to try to condense the number of stories we’re telling and make this really feel like we’re coming home. I wanna bring it in a little bit. Not to discount Charlaine [Harris’] books at all, but my hope is to get all these people we love living under this one story and one threat. Really just make it about this small town we’ve all come to know and love.”
  • The preview for the rest of the season shows Sookie giving a eulogy, shows some major action (sexy and violent rawr!) Check it out here:

Loved seeing everyone on the panel, though disappointing Alexander Skarsgård and Stephen Moyer were not there, it worked out as it was already a pretty packed panel and felt too short.

And of course Nelsan Ellis saying "Rihanna and make-up" get him into the "Lafayette" mood. Another fan asked how Lafayette would use the scard Nelsan was wearing and he showed us this:

Ryan Kwantlen demonstrated how he was doing pull ups and Anna Paquin was supposed to walk in after three, but would delay coming in, then do her lines extra slow to make him suffer doing the pull-up's even longer.

Here are some more photos from the panel....

Seriously my new fave is Warlow akak Ben aka Rob Kazinsky.

Here are videos from the panel:

True Blood: Everybody Wants to Rule the World

Three episodes left... Some subplots wrapped up, some development and connections with other plots... I wish True Blood was year round....

Let me start by saying thank LILITH some of the smaller, annoying, horrible, subplots are getting wrapped up and or tied into something bigger. I have been getting so tired of some of the minor plots this season, I feel like some started too late to develop (hate group), some should have been skipped all together (Terry and Patrick) and more time spent on things that matter (Authority, Sookie's parents)

I can't believe we only have three episodes left. Way too much time has been wasted on an ifrite and Terry and Patrick chasing the fire demon while I crave more development in other areas... and I am still pissed Roman was killed.

One great thing about Terry killing Patrick (besides the ghost coming and removing the curse after calling on the ifrit to take Patrick....) was this one liner from the usuall annoyingly timid Arlene...

Haters Gonna Hate....

The Obama masked hate group trying to kill 'supes' had potential as a subplot, but was brought in a bit late, so I am glad it is wrapping up also. Thank goodness because Luna and Sam have a more serious problem now don't they? Poor Emma-wolf-pup.

Vampire Gay Love....

Of course Russell Edgington is the vampire providing 'V' to JD and the wolf pack. No surprise. What's more interesting is the budding love between Steve Newlin (who I love so much more as a gay vampire than I ever did as a straight bible thumping human, especially with his dance moves!) and Russell... is he the next Talbot? The puppy gift (Luna's daughter Emma) seems to indicate a blossoming vampire love and I want it to continue past this season... please?!

Steve Quote:

I've never had a pet. My father was allergic to everything but God.

Authority Life....

Now the main plots. True Blood factories have been bombed, as per Bill Compton's great idea last episode. Eric is keen to escape and devises a plan with Bill to get Salome's blood which is needed to escape since even Molly no longer has security clearance out of the Authority's building. Bill seems lost and confused, but agrees to get Salome's blood.

Molly Quote:

The locks are DNA specific

Later Eric tricks his 'sister' Nora and silvers her while Bill seduces (ok, not really, she is pretty willing) in the bedroom. During their 'encounter' Bill hallucinates and sees Sookie, who he bites, thus getting Salome's blood, which would allow him and Eric to escape. He also sees Lilith and seems to be going cray in a very strange sex scene between the two.

Later, Eric and Molly meet up with a silver injected Nora ready to leave. Just then Bill arrives and they are ready to escape, except the doors open and there stands Salome with security and it becomes clear Bill is not wanting to escape. Somehow he has gone from the most mainstream, calm, level-headed, neutral vampire leader to ... CRAY! Who knows where this will lead, but I do like that Eric and Bill have seemingly swapped their positions in moral standings...

It is strange seeing Eric acting more sane and "good" than the usual suspect Bill. Me likey!

Sookie seeks answers....
Meanwhile, back in Bon Temps Sookie is trying to find out who this 'Warlow' vampire is that killed her parents. She recruits Lafayette to help talk to ghosts and try to figure out more about her parents death.

Before we continue, I have to say, I LOVE LAFAYETTE. Last season he kind of strayed from his usual awesome character, but he is back in full force and I love it!

Lafayette Quotes:

I ain't Gmail for dead bitches. Creepy spirit thing, why you in Sookie bathroom? Dead folk, why y’all gotta be so cryptic? It ain’t cute!

Anyways, Gran tells Lafayette the answers under the bed... now why Sookie has't seen this memory box under the bed before now baffles me, I mean, you'd think after cleaning up blood and such in that house, she MAY have swept under the bed at least once in the past few years.... non? Anyhow, a newspaper article about her parents shows that Ex-Sheriff Bud Dearborne was the "cop on the scene" of the murders... surprised? no!

Dragon Slayer...

I predicted bringing ex-sheriff Bud back had one purpose, he was the dragon. Well, I was close, that crazy lady "Sweetie" was the dragon. Sookie goes to talk to Bud about her parents murders, Bud admits it was suspicious but they didn't know about 'supes' (vampires) back then. Sookie tries mind reading and 'Sweetie" the gf comes in to knock her out before she figures out they are the hate group leaders - which wasn't what she was even looking into... but it ties in nicely.

Oh, side note, Hoyt was taken by a 'familiar face' last episode - obviously Bud Dearborne, so he is in the pig farm, where they also take Sookie to be eaten by pigs... so here lies Hoty and Sookie, whose fairy magic isn't working by the way!

Bon Temps Police Force...
Back at the police station, Jess is put into custody.

Jason Quote:

Don't let her out of your sight, I don't care if she is sleeping or taking a dump

Luna and Sam shift into flies on the wall and listen in as Andy feeling like the "worst Sheriff ever" watches the hate group videos and recognizes bud Dearbornes boots. HEY! Not such a bad sheriff after all eh? (Well he and Jason DID just beat up a prisoner for info, but whatever!)Jason and him rush off to Dearborne's house, Luna and Sam also go to handle the situation. What I loved about the big scene was that we had a pig at the pig farm turn into naked Sam Merlotte who fought off the redneck hate group members. Then we had naked Luna take care of the "dragon" who, by the way hates 'supes' because her man left her for a shifter at a square dance competition...

Luna Quote:

This is for my daughter you human trash

Jason and Sheriff show up, arrests are made, Hoyt's saved, Sookie's saved, all is well in the world... right?

Other bits:

Tara and Pam have a bit of banter, Pam is worried about Eric, Tara is trying to stock pile True Blood now that the factories are being blown up, and lastly there is a new sheriff in town who will run Fangtasia and orders vamps to grab humans to eat.... um... Pam is not impressed. I had to check IMDB on this actor and he has two episodes quoted, so hoping he is gone before finale. I don't want a new sheriff in town... sheesh! Let Pam run stuff until Eric is back - he will be back.. right? right!

Pam quote:

Whatever comes up next, we keep our heads down and our tits up and the True Blood flowing.

I want more Pam - always, her and Lafayette have my most fave one-liners always.

Oh and Sookie asks Lafayette "Other than getting possessed by a mexican demon. How you been? You heard from Tara?

Lafayette replies, "I text her about 50 times and this all she wrote…

ha ha love it!

Alcide left town, flashbacked to his childhood and his daddy and in the end shows up at his daddy's place. Unresolved issues clearly!

Did I miss anything? What did you think of the episode? I am really excited for finale and hope to see some big bangs plot wise....

True Blood Times 2

I was at Comic-Con last Sunday and missed blogging about True Blood. But, I did watch it, in fact, only a day after seeing the True Blood panel at SDCC and seeing, in the flesh, most of the cast. What therefore shocked me most, was the death of Roman last week. My roomie at SDCC didn't believe it was real because we had just seen Christopher Meloni front and center at the True Blood panel... how could he be dead now? It wasn't until we saw the preview for this week when they talked about Roman's death, that it really set in for us.... sadly!

There was some greatness both last week and this, as well as some *yawn* needless scenes... but I want to review both episodes in this post, so I apologie for the length, I will try not to ramble and sticj to the recap and my thoughts on what we saw.

Last Week:

First, stuff I hate... Terry's storyline... wah wah wah... the sups-hate-gang... and swooping up Hoyt to join their hate club... *eye roll* which also leads to Luna and Sam's story, which I don't care much for, until tonight's episode, but we will get to that....

I liked the bus slaughter, poor Doug, and Lafayette and his momma bantering back & forth.

I loved Bill fake-glamouring Sookie, which in reality was telling her it is over and move on. Time for Sookie to have some good ol' fairy self reflection away from the men that dominate her life. I also liked Eric's glamouring of Alcide, taking it so far as to make Sookie kind of repulsive... sadly, Sookie returns his memories a bit too soon.

Also Tara and Jessica continued fighting, until Pam broke it up. Alcide decided to try for Pack Leader and was seconded by a new hottie werewolf.

Of course the biggest shocker was the death of Roman. I still can't believe it. I mean not even 24 hours before I watched this, we listened to Christopher Meloni on the True Blood Comic-Con stage talking about the show... gah!

This Week:

I really loved tonight's episode. I mean I loved loved the high vampires moments after Eric and Bill say "we are vampires, it's vampire blood, we'll be fine" bahahahaha - epic!

Eric piggy backing Bill? I mean really?

I mean... seeing them high and wandering through New Orleans was just as hilarious as when Steve Newlin came to Jessica's frat boy party doing his lil' shimmy dance.

Then of course interupting the private wedding karaoke party to feast, but not before Russell duet's with the bride...

Of course, my favourite, Allan Hyde returned in a guest appearence as Godric. I love Godric, I wish he could be featured every episode. I am interested to see where this Lillith blood acid-like trip, and Lillith appearence, will take us. Eric will need to do as Godric asks and help his sister Nora.

Of course before all this, we learn, as we suspected Salomne and Nora worked together to save and bring back Russell Edginton, who is not the crazed, angry, insane leader he once was... thoughs till very entertaining... let's see where this goes.

Ok, there were other things in this episode... We have Alcide with new girl "training" slash making out- bow chicka wow wow, and Joe Manganiello was wearing his bandana, which is so hot! Meanwhile, current alpha/pack leader (JD) is pushing 'V' to the wolves and even offers it to baby Emma! WTF? he claims there is a human/vampire war brewing and they need to prove their loyalty to vamps to survive the war... hmm... Russell again?

Andy visits former Sherriff Dearborn who doesn't seem to want to help much and is too busyw ith some female friend while his wife is away... not sure why he was brought back ,maybe he is "Dragon" the leader of the hate group shooting "supes"?? Speaking of the hate group...

Sam smells out the masks at the shop and sniffs out one of the perps from the attacks, meanwhile Hoyt seems to fit in well with the hate group which is "more about love than hate" meh, not too interested in this story line (yet) I have a feeling they will go for Jessica, then I will start to care!

Pam has discovered a hair crimper and looks fab as she sits on her throne at Fangtasia watching Tara pole dance. She even looks proud when Tara tells off her momma who is "a preachers wife now" and disowns Vamp-Tara.... Comic-Con panel said at least 3 new relationships coming this season, not including random hook-ups - I predict some lesbo-lovin between Tara and maker Pam?!?! non?!?!

Lafayette goes to Don to settle unresolved issues of Jesus. He sees Jesus' head and Don stitches up Lafayette mouth and is ready to kill him and feed his brain juice to his unborn child or some crazy shit like that...??? Well, Marla, the pregnant lady stabs Don to death then comes st Lafayette, but only to unstitch his mouth - phew!

The Ifrite comes and laughs at Terry. Terry gets mad and nearly shoots himself, but is talked down. Meanwhile Arlene watches her wedding video, which was cute and Crystal came in and basically said Terry may not be crazy, there are crazier things that they have all witnessed (aka this is True Blood, anything that sounds compeltely eff'd up - is probably true and happening!) Seriously Arlene, you were in love with the murderer in season 1 - - expect this shit!

Jason is feeling down about the news vamps killed his parents, and while Jessica tries to prove all vamps aren't the same, she kisses him with fresh man-blood still on her lips from some hottie she is sucking upstairs. This sends Jason off the deep end and he shoots her in the head while security team of Bill's comes to her rescue.

Sookie, still super boring this season (though she *is* pregnant in real life) learns she is part human and her fairy powers are not infinite, she can run out... and be normal, which sounds pretty awesome to her, so she tries to use up her power at the end of the show.

Did I miss anything? Probably... but Lillith is there and I am curious to see whot his goes, I am already confused by what the heck she stands for and if you bekieve in her literally or not and how the influences if you feed off of humans or not... they all swing back and forth... *sigh*

True Blood - Whatever I Am, You Made Me

What an episode. We saw the return of shirtless Eric, learned more about Pam's past, Tara's secret was revealed and could it be? The return of fairies? I think so.... I don't want to spoil, so click below to read more....

Lot's of plot development this episode and only a little wasted time on things like the sherrif's butt photo, Terry's storyline (he took off with his marine friend, Arlene is mad, that's it) and had a lot of great dialogue and action.

Where to start, Eric and Bill have convinced the Authority to let them go look for Edgington. The Guardian's fave Chancellor, Salome, seduces both Bill and Eric to determine they can be trusted. She also knows Eric and Nora are "siblings" which made me think maybe she was a secret Sanguinistas, but I am not sure. Nora, by the way admits to being a Sanguinistas while being tortured to save Eric and Bill and not reveal his true relationship with one of them.

We also learned that Steve Newlin (possibly changed at the comman of or by the Guardian, Roman) is replacing Nan Flanagan. I think they are on track with that idea given his publicity experience and his previous ties to Fellowship of the Sun prior to becoming a vampire.

I loved seeing Tina Majorino (Veronica Mars) guest star as an Authority employee. She gets Eric and Bill shirtless and harnessed into their death traps - harnesses that will stake their hearts if they mess up, tryt o remove the harness, or piss off the authority while away trying to bring in Russell Edgington.

Pam misses Eric and as she refelct upon their past, we learn how she was made and how Eric fist met Bill Compton.

Vampires were draining Pam's whores and so she asked Eric to assist her in ridding the pests. He did indeed command Lorena to take her newborn (Bill Compton) away and ensure he learned the ways - and fast. After that she owed Eric and paid him with an evening in bed. She asked him to change her and after essentially saying no - she slit her wrists forcing him to change her or watch her die. It showed a vulnerable side to the tough bad-ass Pam. I love her!

Tara escapes Lafayette and Sookie and nearly attacks a gal who is trying to change a flat tire. She gains some senses, apologizes and turns to Sam at Merlottes for help. After letting her binge on True Blood she collapses and he moves her into the walk-in drige leaving a sigh "do not enter out of service dangerous" on the door.

Despite trying to keep the vampire secret of Tara in the walk-in from Sookie, her mind reading skills break through his attempted distraction "boobs boobs boobs" and Sam accepts that Sookie made the decision to save Tara's life, and leave her the choice of what to do next.

The resturant runs normally, somewhat. Lafayette's masked evil side (Jesus haunting him? I want Jesus back he was hot! ) grabs bleach and pours it into the gumbo. Arlene is bitchy because Terry left and mad once she learned Tara is a vampire, and is nagging for the gumbo which sets off Lafayette's inner evil I suppose? Regardless he dumps the gumbo and seems legit concerned of losing control again. Then BAM Tara dreams of eating Arlene as Lafayette wakes Tara with some blood drink. She freaks.

I have hated Tara since day one, I just don't like her. She got interesting briefly when she smashed up that vamps head then again as a runaway kind of lesbian, with new hair style and such, but soon became an annoying bug-eyed character - again! But I have to say, this vampire Tara, she may have some depth - I am especially interested to learn how Pam and her bond - or don't. Especially with all this history on Pam and her maker, it may lead to something solid with Pam and Tara. We shall see.

Meanwhile, Deb's parents are looking for her and asking questions around town after getting the police on board to help track her whereabouts. Alcide comes to Merlotte's and asks Sookie what is going on. After trying to get rid of him, Tara wakes up and goes nuts as I mentioned above then she takes off. Sookie tells Alcide the truth, that Deb tried to kill her, Tara got in the way and was shot, then later turned, and that Sookie killed Deb.

Jessica, my favourite. She is trying on some clothes, gets snarky with the sales lady who is being a bitch, then is distractd by the most amazing smell. A man ordering 16 dresses for 16 sisters I believe he said. Cute. Accent. Then, Jessica falls out of the change room... "You smell awesome. What are you?" He takes off. She chases him to a field. Must be a fairy right? of course! Though fairies were kind of lame in past season, I hope they will return and have some purpose, or interesting story line this time. She then goes to romp with Jason, who isn't in the mood.

Jason not in the mood?

Earlier that day he bumped into an old teacher and we learn he had been with her, sounds like he lost his virginity to her. After reuniting, Jason realizes he has always filled the hole in his heart with sex and doesn't know how to do anything else. he expresses this to Jessica who covers her cleavage, offers to put on some sweat pants ansd just be a friend. Love it! I really want these two together. Yes, her and Hoyt had a thing - but he is off at Fangtasia dressed gotchic with eyeliner trying to pick up some new vamp. Not sure if he is a fangbanger or just posing.

In the end Tara tries to committ suicide via tanning bed, but it appears Pam will save her... sadly.

Lot's happened, lot's progressed. I am loving the direction this season is taking and can't wait for more.

QUOTES:

"You're too cute to be goo." - Authority Employee

"You smell awesome - what are you?" - Jessica

"Can I give you a hug without you thinking about my boobs?” -Sookie

"What are you looking at? Go back to dry humping each other and buying my overpriced drinks or get the f--k out!" —Pam

"Lorena, you procreated and he's protective. How sweet." —Eric

"I ain't had the best luck in that department. One died right next to me, one was married to a gay preacher. Crystal was a...let's not even go there. And right now I'm f--k buddies with the love of my best friend's life. Who's a teenage vampire. And that's just all kinds of messed up." —Jason

"Don't believe everything you read. The human Bible is little better than US Weekly." —Salome

"So which one is it? The Sheriff or the King? Both? Oh see now that's a sandwich I'd take a bite out of anytime." —Rosalyn

"Would you toss a newborn baby in a gutter? Abandoning a newborn vampire is no different. Becoming a maker is an eternal commitment." - Eric

"Let me walk the world with you, Mr. Northman, or watch me die." - Pam

“I was an innocent child, ‘til you taught me your style, Whatever I Am, You Made Me”
-Simone

I really liked this bit from a review I read:

But the tricky thing about innocence is that once you lose it, you can never get it back. And what steps in in its place tends to be of the malicious sort.

“I was an innocent child, ‘til you taught me your style,” coos Nina Simone as “Whatever I Am, You Made Me” draws to a close, and it’s a statement that has never been truer for the show. The revealing of Jason and Salome’s pasts speak most clearly to loss, but they’re not alone. In the eyes of Alcide, Sookie has lost her innocence; Hoyt dons a little guyliner and goes searching for trouble at Fangtasia, abandoning the character we’ve come to know; even Pam, normally so cold and stoic, is showing a softer side in her memories of Eric. At its core, “Whatever I Am, You Made Me” is an episode meant for development.

Check out this video recap from a friend of mine... She does a great G-rated review and compares parts of the episode to the books.

Authority Always Wins - True Blood

Recap time - what an episode, is it just me or this season already way better than last season?

Tara is a vampire - and she be craycray. Pam orders her to not bite Lafayette or Sookie and stay in the house, but that just seems to drive Tara even more insane, thrashing the house before being subdued and taken down to Eric's underground bed.

Pam doesn't have time to deal with Tara, but wants to get out of her dirty walmart sweat suit and back at the club reflects on her first encounter with Eric. I loved getting some history on Pam, she was a brothel madame and Eric saved her from a man with a knife in an alley. I hope we get more of this in the future episodes. I love Pam!

Back to Tara, she sleeps the day away but Lafayette almost stakes her. I am worried and curious to see how this plays out, because Tara HATES fangers.... and now she is one!

Sookie seeks some protection from vampires and at the store, the sales clerk is HILARE - I can't remember what he said about the silver mist but it was if a vampire rang the door bell what would happen - I need to find this quote.... needless to say, Tara got sprayed by it later before taing off into the night....

Bill and Eric taken to the authority along with "sister" Nora. They are tortured with UV lights and silver infused IV drips. We learn of the first vampire "Lilith" who was created by God, who was also a vampire. There are some vampire fundamentalists who believe this to be a literal translation and they are called Sanguanists or something like that - Sang = blood of course. These folks believe that humans were put on earth for vampires to eat. This doesn't fit with the "co-exsist" goal the authority is currently seeking.

Looks like politics and religion focus this season, along with power struggle (as always) not only in the vamp world but in the wolf world where Alcide refuses to become pack leader and Luna's daughter changes into a cute wolf pup after Luna kicks Sam out for suggesting Luna may want to address that her daughter COULD be wolf and not shifter.

Back to Eric and Bill, they are let go (we assume they will be) to get Russell Edgington who has escaped the cement tomb. The episode ends showing him feeding and slowly recovering. I read in an interview with Denis O'Hare that Russell Edgington will be a changed man when he returns, so i am interested to see how this will play out. Christopher Meloni is amazing too - can't wait to see more of his character development.

Steve is promoting vampires as god's creatures and still in the media. He arrives at Bill's house where Jessica is still having a kegger party - this once scene I had to replay over and over, I love love love this dance....

Where I hated Steve before, he is actually pretty hilarious now... you know, a vampire, gay, christian... I also loved that on the interview he came out as a vampire but pretended he loved a woman - like somehow Vampire acceptance is still easier than being gay?!?!

He offers Jessica money for Jason but she "doesnt sell" her friends, though she sure messes with him a bit Steve gets a "fang boner and a real boner" after she talks about how hard Jason's ass (and other parts) are.... ha ha it's awesome!

Jason tries to make ammends with Hoyt but fails.... Hoyt's momma is pleased with Jason, though acts like she is not until Hoyt can't hear...

Terry and Arlene are fighting because he is having strange dreams and attacking her. She goes to his army buddy Patrick to talk, Terry interupts and tells Patrick he knows one of their marine buddies who is still alive and may be associated with the strange fires that keep occuring. No idea - not interested.

More:

-Christopher Heyerdahl as Dieter Braun - not a huge stretch from Twilight is it ;) I met him in december in Orlando... squee!

-Debbie's car was found, her tooth is under Sookie's fridge, how long until they figure this out?

Some Quotes: **Will add more later**

Mr. Northman, you are taller than I expected - I get that a lot - BAHAHAHA Love it!

Stackhouse, i had sex! - Welcome to the club

True Blood Season 5 Premiere

Season 5 returned and already I am more impressed than I was with Season 4.

It picks up directly where it left off... Tara has been shot by Debbie, Jesus was just killed by Lafayette, Jessica and Hoyt are through and she and Jason have been together. We discover Russell Edginton is "de-cemented" that fellowship preacher dude Steve is back - as a vampire. Most importantly, Sookie has told Eric and Bill to walk away.

Remember all that? ok.......... here we go....

Pam shows up and Lafayette and Sookie convince her (in a floral yellow Walmart sweat suit) to make Tara into a vampire. Pam agrees reluctantly stating that half of Tara's face is blown off and she may come back "fucktarded" love Pam!

Jessica is fratinizing wityh frat boys, enjoying the single life, much to Jason's despair. She does save him from the fellowship, preacher (newly vamp) guy Steve, who glamours Jason and admits he is gay and in love with Jason - wow!

Eric and Bill are trapped by the vampire authority (government) and manage to escape. One of the drivers is in fact Eric's vampire sister Nora - they reunite with some hot and dirty sex. (They are siblings in the case that they share maker Godric - *sigh* I miss Godric so hard! I love him!) anyways, they take on new fake id and are ready to escape life when they are ambushed.

Sheriff sleeps with blonde waitress, her sons come home and see this. Not sure what is going on with this story line next.

Alcide comes by and Sookie almost tells him about Debbie but Lafayette stops her. He has a hilarious line and facial expression where he gets up in Alcide's face and tells him to leave. Love that hooker!

Something weird happened with Terry in the war, his old vet friend is in town and there is talk about all of their crew having issues with "fires" who knows - it feels like an uneccessary side plot - again.

Meanwhile Sam Merlotte is accused of killing werewolf pack leader (his girlfriend, Luna's ex) marcus and escapes them by shape shifting into a bird. They find him at his girlfriends and threaten her so instead of tell the truth (it was Alcide) he accepts the blame and is taken away. Sam shows them where Marcus' body is and the mother werewolf and some of the pack eat his body *gag* while Luna arrives with Alcide and confesses it was him who killed Marcus (making him Alpha?) and some werewolves bow to him - looks like there will be a divide with in the pack....

It ends with a bawling Lafayette and Sookie over Tara's dead, unvamped body. Convinced Pam was unsuccessful in changing her, all of a sudden Tara whips out of the grave and in Sookie's face. She is a vampire....

Quotes:
“I am wearing a Walmart sweatsuit for y’all, If that ain’t a demonstration of team spirit I don’t know what is.” - Pam to Lafayette and Sookie

“I’ve been around the block enough times to know that fangs are basically like twin hard-ons, hard-ons for trouble or for feeding on somebody, never just for talking, not ever,” - Jason to Steve

“I think that’s why I started acting the way I did, all murderous and whatnot, Now that I have been blessed with immortality, I finally have the strength to say it: I’m a gay vampire American. And I love you, Jason Stackhouse." - Steve

“A friend of yours?” asks Bill. “It’s my sister, actually,” replies Eric. HA HA HA

The new identities: Bill’s was “Marcellus Clark,” Eric’s “Ike Applebaum” HA HA HA

Also from a review I read:
Judging by the three episodes I’ve seen, the action is going to come fast and furious this season.

And we can look forward to the appearance of Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: SVU) as the vampire Roman, one of the head honchos of the Authority.

Vampire politics will play a role, as the Authority battles a vampire cult called the Sanguinistas, who believe that humans exist only as vampire Happy Meals.

Also, we’re not quite done with the faeries.

interesting indeed..................

This season is going to be amazing!

Straw Dogs and Drive

So I went and saw both last night and have to say that I am really glad there were cute boys in them. Don't get me wrong, they both had their good parts, but they were both pretty violent and not at all what I expected. Let's look at Straw Dogs First It is a remake of a 1971 movie that I have not seen. James Marsden is cute, but his character is annoying in this movie. Kate Bosworth is pretty but again her character is annoying. What is worse is that the two of them together are not believable as a married couple, it is all just bizzare. They seem to have this strong loving relationship but then she does the strangest things, like a scene in the window watching the roofers, or when she keeps the violent crime to her self or calls her husband a coward. I just found myself saying "she isn't worth the trouble dude, go back to LA and leave her ass in Mississippi" Alexander Skarsgard is hot. He is a rapist and probably worse (is there worse?) but he is hot and I don't even feel bad enjoying watching him do bad things. James Woods plays the old alcoholic, has-been football coach with a teenage daughter. The story line with his daughter is loose and not fully developed, much like a number of subplots that either aren't wrapped up at the end of not developed throughout the movie. I was so shocked to see Dominic Purcell in the movie, he plays an adult with special needs and I was very impressed with his acting. I love him! Overall, I wasn't a huge fan. It was less violent than I thought, and though it had a good premise and I am sure the original was great, this movie didn't have the horror feeling it is supposed to, nor the thriller aspect I hoped for. It was just odd. thank goodness for the hot men! Drive I went to see this for once reason only. Ryan Gosling. I knew it was about a driver, that was it. Ryan gosling as a driver and I was sold! My friend Amy told me a bit more... he is a stunt driver by day and a get-away driver for criminals at night. OK So the movie had a strange feel to it. It was not at all what I expected, far more violent and noire. But, Ryan Gosling was fabulous and oh so pretty... he played the unnamed, mysterious driver who amidst his involvement in the criminal activities in L.A. befriends his neighbour, Carey Mulligan and her son. Since her husband is in jail, they become lose fast uintil the husband returns and then Gosling is pulled into more crime with him. Overall it is dark and violent, though inadvertently humourous (the whole theatre laughed, albeit nervously, during a scene involving blood splatter and killing) I liked it, but it is not the kind of film youw ould expect to see - it had a strange feel to it that I really did like, hoever unexpected. I'd say see Drive, wait for dvd for Straw Dogs (sorry Alex, James and Dom i love you)

September Movies

There are a lot of movies out or coming out that I want to see. I have been really lucky lately to not only go to a lot of movies and screenings but also win some passes. SCORE!

First of all Recent Releases I have seen:

The Help

One Day

Crazy Stupid Love

Contagion

Afraid of the Dark - Was good, not great. The lil critters were scarier than I thought because of how they were built up and used the shadows and darkness.

Dolphin Tale - Which was crowded with screaming kids so we went to Planet of the Apes, which was pretty awesome! I actually enjoyed it more than I thought. To be honest, I had little desire to see it other than it had been filmed (albeit mostly in studio) here in Vancouver. Oh and I love James Franco and like Tom Felton. Oh and baby monkey's are cute.... though after watching this movie I learned how creepy grown apes can be ha ha.

I do still want to see Dolphin Tale - with my daughter...who isn't a screaming brat like most of the kids at that screening I skipped.

Abduction - Which comes out next weekend but I watched last night at the VIP Screening in Seattle.

Upcoming Movies:

This weekend I will see Straw Dogs and Drive. I am so excited to see my boyfriends Ryan Gosling and Alexander Skarsgård this weekend - rawr!

Also next week I have Moneyball and 50/50 screening passes. I didn't even know what the heck Moneyball was and 50/50 I am psyched for because it was filmed here.

Moneyball is about numbers and baseball and money... *shrugs* Brad Pitt makes me willing to see it.

I also want to see some of these movies:

30 minutes or Less - which looks funny but my husband wants to see it also which means we will probably wait for dvd.

Red State - Kevin Smith has talked the shit out of this film and I generally like his stuff, if anything it is an interesting perspective.

Other Upcoming Movies I don't think I will see, but you may enjoy:

Warrior - Apparently there is The Hunger Games teaser before this movie, which would be the only reason I go see it. Just not my cup of tea though seems to remind me of The Fighter?!

I've got your Number - This looks cute and funny. I love Anna Faris, Chris Evans is hot and some of her "ex boyfriends" (Joel McHale, Chris Pratt (Faris’s actual husband), Anthony Mackie, Andy Samberg, Martin Freeman and Zachary Quinto to name a few)

Also in October:

The Ides of March More Ryan Gosling - yes please

FootLoose I am sure it will not be as good as the original but I will check it out

anyways

The Big Year Filmed (partially) here so I may check it out.

Fireflies in the Garden Julia Roberts and Ryan Renyolds

Paranormal Activity 3 Looks like it actually has a plot

In Time Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried

What did I miss that you are wanting to see or have seen and enjoyed?

Tonight's True Blood

I can not wait for tonight's True Blood Episode. We were left hanging last week as Jessica walked for the sun... I know she will live, her character is too hot and sexy and awesome to kill.

Boston Herald writes:

Witches vs. vampires - whose side are you on?

The war between the two factions escalates on tonight’s episode of HBO’s “True Blood” (at 9 p.m.). In “Spellbound?,” written by series creator Alan Ball, Marnie/Antonia (the sublime Fiona Shaw) and Bill (Stephen Moyer) face off in a cemetery.

Bill claims he wants peace, but he’s brought a small army with him, including Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard). Things get violent fast, and Sookie’s life - and love life - just be taking yet another dramatic swerve.

“There’s no such thing as forever,” Sookie tells Eric earlier in the episode, and those words seem prophetic. The two take their intimacy to even greater - bloodier - levels.

Alcide (Joe Manganiello) vows to stay away from Sookie, but that’s a promise he cannot keep. Sam (Sam Trammell) makes a new enemy, while his brother Tommy (Marshall Allman) walks in a woman’s shoes. Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) is no longer himself - literally.

Jessica (Deborah Ann Wolf) and Hoyt (Jim Parrack) experience not one but two wrenching break-ups. But Jessica discovers moving on with Jason (Ryan Kwanten) will not be that easy. Wolf and Parrack have been this show’s underrated stars. They give this show its emotional pulse, and I root for them even though their relationship seems about as doomed as anything in Bon Temps.

Straw Dogs

I do not know how I did not know about this movie! (Ok I knew OF it but no details)

I saw the trailer a couple weeks ago when I went to see Horrible Bosses and Friends With Benefits.

So besides my weekly dose of Alexander Skarsgård on True Blood, I do not need to wait until Battleship comes out in May 2012 because this movie, Straw Dogs, comes out in September and looks absolutely awesome!

You sunk my Battleship...

I saw Battleship preparation when I was in NOLA last October. In my agenda book, I saw it was supposed to come out soon, but apparently I missed the memo with the new release date of May 2012.

Longer wait for Alexander Skarsgård *le sigh*

That boy is all kinds of sexy! At least I get my weekly fix on True Blood, and lately, he has been especially yummy, all nice and naked as Eric with Sookie... RAWR!

But I digress... I wanted to share the trailer for Battleship as well as some photos from set in NOLA last October....

There are more on my facebook: Mandy S Mind.

Also in pre-production at the time was Breaking Dawn.... so I posed out side the studio after chatting with the security at length.
