Twilight Tuesday in L.A.

Tuesday was yet another busy day. We woke up and I packed up and moved to my new hotel and new roomies. But, I wasn't done with the old roomies yet - we went for a trip to the Grove. Extra was taping Nick Lachey and Kellan Lutz (it should air on Friday) it was pretty cool to see them tape the show right in the middle of the plaza.

Kellan looked amazing and discussed Immortals, Breaking Dawn, the wedding scene, his clothing line, and took some fan questions also - it was pretty aswesome!

Then we went to Cheesecake Factory and had horrible servers. When we complained the server came up to our table to try and question us on why we complained and got really defensive ha ha ity was mildly amusing.

That night we decided to go see New Moon for Twilight tuesday which was awesome because they did a ton of interviews and stuff with the cast before, plus watching with a ton of Twilight Fans who have all seen the movie was hilarious.

Erik Odom and Jack Morrissey joined us at the movie and we had a lot of photos and chatter afterwards.

Then we all went for drinks at the bar near the theatre - it was super awesome to just hang out with all the gals and of course Jack and Erik LOL

Here is our "thug life" photo with Erik....

We didn't thug out with Jack....

I have more photos of everyone on Facebook (Mandy S Mind) if you want to check them out....

Taylor Lautner on Jimmy Kimmel & Immortals Premiere

Today was yet another adventure in L.A.

We slept in and then we went to Hollywood for some lunch and shopping before lining up for Kimmel.

A few were chosen to wear Team Herman and Team Jacob t-shirts, one of our group was included so in the opening you can see me on tv tee hee. (Notin a shirt, but beside them)

Things got all messed up on Kimmel. We started way late and had to endure the opening warm up guy for way too long and see audience memebers attempt crazy tricks to win a t-shirt. I should say after the first so-called-talent I felt I might as well go for it and did a Xena yell/yodel to earn a shirt. There was one gal who could beat-box but the rest of us were talentless.

Some guy actually said he was the best kisser so they made him kiss an elderly lady, then theopener kissed her and she voted on him over this young buck who was too cocky.

Anyhow, eventually we got started, Jimmy Kimmel was noticably irritated and we had to tape out of order because of Herman Cain being so late to arrive (maybe because of his sex scandals)

Anyhow, we taped his interview first, it felt fake and forced but was fresh given that he was accused (again) this morning by WOMEN #4 (who had a name versus anonymous gals #1-3)

ANYHOW after taping him talk about pizza, accusations of sexual harrassment, and politics we taped fake intro's to a band we never actually got to watch (juniper)

then finally Taylor came out and did a short segment which was pretty awesome, he talked about the Grauman's hand print ceremony, the twilight convention and the twi=mom panty story.

See pics here

Then we went out back and got somepics of Taylor before heading to the Immortals Premiere.

Unfortunately because of the delay taping we did not make it for the red carpet or to go inside. We did arrive in time to see some friends, have some dinner and then catch some celebs after the movie.

I have to say I am not a fan of the L.A. autograph hounds... I mean in Vancouver we have a handful and they can be nasty or mean, though mostly to each other, overall they are not bad, some are even super cool.... but these guys tonight - they were cruel. At Kimmel I saw a guy push a kid over to get multiple Taylor autographs, then at the Immortals lot there were a ton of them pushing and shoving. I pushed back of course ;) but I got quite upset at the way things were going on and felt frustrated that the hounds were at front getting most of the pics and graphs while fans were pushed, shoved and tossed aside... ah well, clearly I am not aggressive enough...

Anyways here are some of the photos I did get :)

Mickey Rourke - we saw leave dinner then head to the after party

Daniel Sharman who plays Aries in Immortals

Damien Gillies who plays Elijah on Vampire Diaries, he was there to support Joseph Morgan (who plays Klaus on TVD and Lysander in Immortals)

Dean Cain from Louis & Clark, there to support new Superman Henry Cavill perhaps?

Batista, I loved him when I watched WWE regularily, back in the day, don't judge me

Kellan Lutz who plays Poseidon in Immortals

Stephen Dorff who plays Stavros in Immortals

Catherine Hardwicke who chatted with me for a bit off to the side, she remembered me from Portland Twilgiht Tour.

We saw many more celebs, some I got photos, some I did not - it was pretty insane with the few fans and ton of autograph hounds.

I have more photos up on my Facebook - Mandy S Mind

Tomorrow may be the Grove or Price is Right or Ferguson or sleep all day... ha ha

Immortals Panel at SDCC

LA Times writes:

“Immortals” is the latest big-budget action movie looking for love from the audience at Comic-Con International, but unlike most of the other films being pitched here in San Diego, it’s not based on a comic-book, graphic novel or video game. “Immortals,” which opens Nov. 11, is an original screenplay — based albeit on Greek mythology.

I love Grek Mythology, but for some reason have been fairly indifferent to this upcoming film, even though it stars Kellan Lutz from Twilight, Henry Cavill, from the upcoming Superman and Freida Pinto from Slumdog Millionare. Still, my love for Greek Mythology has been intrigued enough to keep up on the production and promotion. I will definately go see it in theatres once it is released this November.

The “Immortals” footage featured very stylized fighting, heavy CG-effects and a vivid color palate with lots of dark red blood spurting everywhere. Fans were shown the fight scene twice.

Surprisingly, Singh says there were a lot of physical effects, more than he believes were used on Snyder’s “300,” a film that feels in the same vein as “Immortals,” which is also a highly stylized actioner.

Below are photos and summary from live blogs for those who were not there and wish to hear all the juicy details - click more...

Digital Spy live blogged the panel"

1.02pm: And here come the panelists - first up, producers Gianni Nunnari and Mark Canton and director Tarsem Singh! Tarsem claims that the tone for Immortals is "a little darker" and "more hardcore" than the initial trailers might have you believe.

1.05pm: Gianni adds that the Gods featured in the film are "a little younger" than people might be used to. Plus, "they're pissed".

1.06pm: Now for some exclusive footage, narrated by John Hurt. There's a strong 300 feel to the clip - it's intense, action-packed and violent!

1.08pm: Tarsem admits that he might get "a lot of crap" for featuring young gods in the film, but quips that if you were immortal and could live forever, you'd want to look like Henry Cavill. It's a fair point!

1.09pm: Speaking of which, here come the cast - Freida Pinto (Phaedra), Stephen Dorff (Stavros), Luke Evans (Zeus), Kellan Lutz (Poseidon) and Henry Cavill (Theseus). Much screaming from the crowd.

1.12pm: Henry admits that he originally joined the project to work with Tarsem, while Kellan describes his character as "salty" and "the God of Wetness". Oh my!

1.15pm: Steven Dorff discusses his character, the slave Stavros, and reveals that he's a little "horny" for Freida Pinto's character.

1.16pm: The moderator asks Mark Canton how he managed to scoop up so many up-and-coming actors. The producer claims that he's keen to avoid "the bulls**t of the past" and focus on what's the next big thing. He's done well, I'm sure you'll agree.

1.18pm: "Is everybody happy to see Henry?" asks the moderator. The crowd whoops and cheers in approval. Henry then talks about "finding a voice" for his character and explains that he was keen to avoid being too "stuffy" as Theseus. "You don't want to be too English about it," he says. "But you don't want to be too American about it either."

1.23pm: Just had another glimpse at footage from the film - an absurd but gruesomely entertaining fight scene. Looks like good, silly fun.

1.25pm: The moderator opens the floor to fan questions, asking the audience to keep questions related to Immortals only. What ever could he mean?

1.26pm: A fan asks Tarsem what the key is to producing a successful 3D film. The director suggests that if you're ready for it, 3D can be a useful tool, but if it's forced on you in post-production, then it can detract from the final product. The audience applauds in agreement.

1.29pm: The cast is asked what was the most difficult part of filming. "Staying in shape was really tough," says Henry Cavill. "Except Kellan. Kellan is always in shape."

1.32pm: The next audience member asks Luke and Kellan about their "divine powers" in the film. Luke explains that Zeus is "more manual" in the film, using a whip and chains to fight rather than thunder-bolts and lightning.

1.34pm: The next fan is wearing a Superman shirt, but asks an Immortals question. When Tarsem is asked why he only included a certain number of gods in the film, he replies, "I could only gather up so many good-looking guys."

1.36pm: Did Kellan do any research for the role of Poseidon? "I watched The Little Mermaid again," he quips.

1.38pm: Freida Pinto is asked by an adoring fan what her favorite part of working on the film was. "Watching the men!" she admits. "It's not often that the men have to bare all, and the women can stay covered."

1.42pm: Steven Dorff is quizzed about his career in general. "I just like to mix it up," he explains. "I want to play different kinds of roles, different challenges on all different levels."

1.43pm: The moderator finally asks Henry Cavill the big Superman question. "It's one of the best scripts I've ever read," says the Brit actor. "I'm humbled by the whole experience, and I can't wait to get started."

Kellan Lutz will be busy with movies undergoing name changes

Kellan Lutz is going to be busy squeezing in films before Breaking Dawn starts shooting. The roles range from romantic comedy to the gods.

According to ET, “Romantic comedy heaven is made when a ‘Twilight’ hunk and a pop star are cast as love interests. That is just the case in ‘Love, Wedding, Marriage,’ starring Kellan Lutz and Mandy Moore as newlyweds…James Brolin and Jane Seymour have been tapped to play the parents…Actor Dermot Mulroney will be calling the shots in his directorial debut… reports The Hollywood Reporter. Though the movie may take on a different name, ‘Keep It Together,’ it has sent out save the date cards for April 19 to begin filming in Louisiana.”

According to Monsters and Critics, “Relativity Media has changed the title of its Greek mythology film from “War of the Gods” to “Immortals,” and announced that John Hurt and Isabel Lucas have joined the cast. Henry Cavill, Stephen Dorff, Luke Evans, Kellan Lutz, Joseph Morgan, Freida Pinto and Mickey Rourke have already been cast. The film follows the young warrior Theseus (Cavill), who leads his men into battle with the immortal Greek gods to defeat the gods of the Titans. Tarsem Singh is directing the film, which began shooting in Montreal this week.”
