Magic Mike Premiere Details

June 29 I will be at my local theatre to see Magic Mike starring the very sexy Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Joe Manganiello, Matt Bomer, Matthew McConaughey and more, get down and dirty as male strippers.

This movie is based loosely on Chan's real life before he was an actor, and all I can say is "DAMN, WHY DIDN'T I GO SEE MALE STRIPPERS IN FLORIDA!?!??!"

Good golly, I remember when the video of Channing came out from his previous career....

Anyways, my friends, who are awesome and know of my obsession intense love for CHANNING TATUM have been asking me about the premiere. I had planned to go, but I can't because of work and because they have selected it as the closing night filmn for L.A. Film Fest....

Magic Mike‘, which the Playlist says “is a big crowd-pleaser — for the ladies and dudes”, will have its world premiere as the closing-night film at the Los Angeles Film Festival on June 24th. Individual tickets will go on sale on May 29th, but you can CLICK HERE to buy a pass to the festival.

So if you want to go either fork out money for the LAFF pass, or wait for the individual ticket sale May 29.

If you go I insist you tell ALL tell him Mandy in Vancouver says hi, he won't remember me, but I don't care, I met him 5 times in 3 glorious days in March and he held my hand and said my name and *sigh*

The story that goes with it is - well - interesting... it talks about a penis injury, his past as a male-stripper and even links to this video of Chan stripping.

"I've been wanting to talk about this forever!" swears Tatum. "You have publicists and managers saying no, and I'm like, Mmm-mmm, it's gonna come out. I never wanted to hide it." Last September, Usmagazine.com, under the banner CHANNING TATUM'S SECRET STRIPPER PAST, posted a 1999 video of Tatum—billed as "Chan Crawford"—front and center on a Tampa stage, hoofing like a Backstreet Boy in heat, snogging some bachelorette in the front row, then peeling off his shirt, and finally, like an NBA sixth man yanking off his warm-ups, discarding his pants. "Thaaaat's right, ladies," barked the club's announcer. "Chan Crawford is here to pleeeease you!" Only a bulging jockstrap and a thin wall of dead presidents stood between the Sun Coast's horniest housewives and Chan's fantastic penis.

I think it's hil-larious," Tatum says convincingly. "I met some of the most insane characters." He hopes to do for male stripping what Boogie Nights did for the golden age of Valley porn. "I'm gonna make a movie about it. I've talked to a couple of directors." I ask Tatum if his handlers are happy about the prospect of his strapping on the ol' banana hammock again. "I don't care what they think," he answers quickly. "I'm happy I did it. I'm not proud, because it's not something to be proud of, but I had an experience that only one out of a thousand—a million—people can say they've ever had. I've been through this crazy sort of life, and I came out the other side fairly unscathed."

Krsiten Stewart says Pole Dancing is tough...

Welcome to the Rileys was a real pain for Kristen Stewart—literally.

In the much buzzed about indie flick, she plays a 16-year-old stripper who is taken in by a married man, played by James Gandolfini...

"I did some pole dancing," Stewart told me Saturday at the movie's premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. "I got bruises all over my legs. I tore myself up doing it. It sucked."

Oddly enough, she kinda enjoyed it. "The more I saw it, the more I wanted it," Stewart said. "It was like a weird self-hating kind of thing."

Yikes!

Director Jake Scott said it was pretty much a closed set when Stewart had to do her dancing scenes.

"She was terrified," Scott said. "The strip club we shot in was really a club, and it really was that dirty and really that tough. But she killed it."

Scott also hooked Stewart up with a professional stripper. "She's like one of the best in the business," he said. "So she was really reliable and didn't do drugs or anything like that, but she was able to introduce Kristen to girls that were. She was able to put her in that world."

But if you're expecting Showgirls moves from Stewart, you can forget about it. "This is not about a stripper," Scott said. "It's about a damaged child."

Stewart said, "The cool thing about my character is she is not sultry and she is not sexy."

Mandy's Mind - I can't wait to see this movie, I am so psyched to see KStew in The Runaways also. So much of her work has been very similar, Kristen playing Kristen really well... but these roles force her outside of that and I am really excited to see her in new roles.
