#ONCE returns to #SDCC #OUAT

ouatscaled

Always one of my fave panels, OUAT is scheduled to return.

Of course, Espenson also writes and produces on the popular ABC series Once Upon A Time, along with executive producers Edward “Eddy” Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. So putting two and two together, we reached out to network representatives for the show and received confirmation that there will indeed be a panel for OUAT at SDCC next month.
What we couldn’t confirm is when the panel will be, or who will appear on the panel. Based on Espenson’s tweet, we can speculate that herself, Kitsis and Horowitz will all be on the panel, and we can expect that the audience will be treated to some “content”, whether that is a sizzle reel for the upcoming season or an extended first look at a new scene.
Generally the OUAT panels are pretty packed with the show’s cast, so we would expect to see Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison, Josh Dallas, and Lana Parrilla, and hopefully Emilie de Ravin (Belle) and Colin O’Donoghue (Hook) among others. And what about a big unveil of Frozen duo Elsa and Anna, who are as of yet uncast and slated for season four? As IGN TV’s Eric Goldman speculated on our podcast earlier this month, that would blow the roof off of Ballroom 20. Or wherever the panel is held.

Sean Maguire to replace Tom Ellis on #OUAT

Robin Hood made his first appearance on Once Upon a Time last season during the episode “Lacey,” but TV Line reports Sean Maguire will step into Tom Ellis' role in season 3. Co-creator Adam Horowitz previously commented on plans to recast the role, citing scheduling issues for the change.
“Although we love Tom Ellis, unfortunately he wasn’t available. We remain huge fans of his, but because we have an arc planned for the character, we had to move forward.”

Season two of Once Upon a Time is available on DVD and Blu-ray August 13th and the show returns for its third season on Sunday, September 28th. It is filmed locally here in Vancouver.

Day FOUR SDCC 2013 (Part 1)

After yesterday's b.s of 8.5 hours waiting to get into Hall H and missing some key panels, we decided we had to do things a bit earlier, but still not camp out. I went to bed earlier the night before and slept until 330am at which time I got ready and went to the line for Ballroom 20.

It was worth it because we all got in and were row 7 for Once Upon a Time in Wonderland and Once Upon a Time Panels. THEN we got front row for the rest of the day as friends in front row left after OUAT panels. EPIC!

I will have blog posts on details of each panel and photos but for now here is an overview of my day:

OUATIW Panel.

OUAT Panel

What I really enjoyed about the animation panels was that everyone who asked a question got a prize, they really pack a lot of activities into the panel including the questions from fans, a table read, clips, games, big news on upcoming plot and projects. Family Guy and Simpson's are doing a cross over show, it is Futurama's last season (again) and we got a sneak peek at the Halloween special introduction for Simpson's this year! I am not a MAJOR animation fan, though I do watch with my hubby once in a while, but it is always great to see these panels as they are so engaging and I laugh so hard I cry!

Futurama and Simpson's panel

Family Guy and American Dad panels

Next up was True Blood..

The Vampire Diaries:

I left before Arrow panel, although I would love some Colton Haynes, I haven't watched Arrow and had to get some eats. I gave our front row seats to a mom and her kiddo then left to hit the exhibit floor and then meet friends for dinner. We got sidetracked from dinner when the crowd outside out hotel said Marvel Press was inside. So we waited. We saw Bill Nye the Science Guy which was pretty much awesome!

We then saw some Marvel people but my cell was in the room charging and my camera died after trying to take photos (it was dark by now so wasn't working) but we did see Tom Hiddleton wave from hsi car (I got a pic of his hand LOL) Scarlet Johansen, Samuel L Jackson and a few more through tinted windows and small waves. Still very exciting despite not getting any photos or interaction. Finally we went for dinner and drinks, exhausted and not as social as we had hoped... I wanted to nap but it was Saturday night, party night, and I had some celebrities to meet.... Stay Tuned for Part 2 of my SDCC Day FOUR - lot's of celeb pics and fun stories to share!!

Also coming soon I will add links to this post for MORE pics and panel details for each of them.... I am one person so takes a bit of time =)

#SDCC #OUAT Panel - Once Upon a Time

The OUAT Panel was pretty amazing. I really enjoy panels that have special things prepared.

On the panel:
Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison, Lana Parrilla, Josh Dallas, Robert Caryle, Emilie de Ravin, Colin O'Donoghue and Michael Raymond James, along with executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz.

One of my most fave parts of this panel was "Good Morning Storybrooke" video which I have to share with you because it was so awesome:

Some details:
  • We will see Tinkerbell and a surprising connection to someone in Storybrooke on the panel today
  • Peter Pan has "complicated motivation" and may be seen as a bit scary or evil
  • Show will run 11 episodes in Fall then 11 episodes in Spring to avoid the big breaks and mixed up schedules again.
  • We discussed all the relationships being shipped (Swan Queens for example) writers mentioned they get a lot of tweets about who fans want together and reminded fans to be respectful of each other.
  • A same-sex relationship may be coming, but they want to do it right and celebrate love
  • Parrilla's fave kill is coming this season
  • Hook (O'Donoghue) is a real gentleman, until his leather jacket is on then he is "a spicy gentleman" says Morrison. He adds that he is a mix of Princess Bride and his friends
  • Talked about climing a screen screen with one hand (O'Donaghue) and having to bite it and get bruised up (Morrison)

Here is the "trailer" they showed introducing a red haired mermaid coming next season:

Here is the panel I found online, as I didn't record the session:

Once Upon A Time finale filming

Today my family went to Steveston, B.C. for a nice day of sunshine and to see some of the sets used in 'Storybrooke'

Even though we don't live too far away, we had never had the time to go check it out, so today was the day - and a great day it was.
We found out they had filmed that morning and got to watch them film two different scenes.

The first scene was Gold and Belle and the second scene involved the dwarves. We also saw a quick scene involving some extras
We found out the finale would air early or mid-May and it was a two-hour finale (not sure if two hour on one night or two separate nights)

*SPOILER*

Gold walked out of his shop in a suit and sun glasses, looked around then Belle came out of the shop in a tight black mini dress. She looked around then said something we could not hear before giving him a hug.

Next the extras, one girl and two boys, ran down the sidewalk past Golds shop. They could have been running from something.

Last the dwarves were in the main street. We left as this scene began.

Here are some photos from today. I know they will be taken and used elsewhere, so I should care and tag / watermark them all, but to be honest, I am very tired from a day in the sunshine, so I will just ask that if you use these photos you link back to this post as the source. Thank-you in advance.

Before filming, we were taking photos outside Golds and noticed this happening inside... very cool preparations for filming!

Was super cool of the cast to wave good bye and stop to talk with fans, I am regretting not going to see filming sooner, but excited to catch part of the season finale filming

Once Upon a Time is awesome...

Who watches? I love how they intertwine classical fairy tales with modern times.

I hate that they killed off Graham, but I think somehow, he should return.

Once Upon a Time - Belle and Guston

Sage Brocklebank has been cast as Gaston for Once Upon a Time. He is a Canadian actor and known for his role in Pysch.

Belle will be played by Emilie de Ravin from Lost and Remember Me...

I am loving how all the characters of well known and even less known Fairy Tales are coming together in this show. It is a unique take on traditional tales and the way they manifest in modern time is so interesting... it is fun guessing who is who and what will happen.

Also, this week Jennifer Morrison is going to live tweet during the episode, much like Raphael Sbarge and Josh Dallas did in past weeks.

So exciting - this is an amazing new show...

Once Upon a Time

Who has seen this amazing new show? First of all, it is filmed locally, here in Vancouver, which means I always give it a go, I love watching locally filmed television shows. But, what was awesome about this series is just how great it is! I am a huge fairy tale fanatic anyways, but this story is a grest twist on the traditional and has amazing writing and storylines so far. If you haven't checked it out, you must! Basically the fairy tale characters are trapped in modern time because of a curse that the evil witch cast after a deal with rumpelstiltskin. All the fairy tale characters we know and love have a modern role and are unaware of their own true identity. A young boy knows and as he tries to convince a few trusted adults, including his birth mother who is unknowingly tied into the tale... his adopted mother (the evil witch) tries to keep the secret. It is amazing! So.... who watches?
