Vanity Fair Young Hollywood too skinny, too white...

Twilight Lexicon posted this:

Vanity Fair’s new cover features one of their regular pieces that they have been doing for a number of years: a piece on rising female talent in Young Hollywood. This year it has drawn fire because of it’s utter lack of diversity for the second year running.

No one is discounting the talent of the actresses involved in the cover or accusing them of anything inappropriate, but Hollywood insiders are wondering where other names are. Yahoo’s shine stated, “Every woman on its new cover is extremely thin and very, very white. Unless Vanity Fair considers one redhead to be diversity, we feel the need to cry foul.” EW has a pole asking which of the lot will be remembered in 10 years. Currently Anna and Kristen are doing very well in that pole.

Rope of Silicon says:

Zoe Saldana, Gabourey Sidibe or perhaps even Freida Pinto are names most people will shout from the rooftops, "What about women of color?!?!?"

In all honesty, of the group the only names I see as truly belonging are Cornish, Mulligan, Hall, Wasikowska and Kendrick, the others are just filler or have already been featured on such lists for some time now. Stewart and Seyfried were featured on a Vanity Fair cover labeling "Hollywood's Next Wave" in August 2008 so I have a hard time considering them "new" Hollywood. Of course, Saldana was featured in the 2008 issue so I guess there are "outs" everywhere.

Mandy's Mind - It's funny I didn't even realize they were indeed all thin and white. I just looked at them as young actresses... Who else would you have included if you were choosing? Any you would have not included?

My thoughts.... Stewart, Kendrick, Wasikowska, are all correct with out a doubt... Emma Stone I really like, but haven't seen anything "amazing" mostly comedies which I like enough.... Then there is Mulligan, Seyfried and Hall, who I haven't seen a lot of so I am indifferent to them. [Though I am going to see Dear John tonight]

Evan Rachel Wood has been around for a long time non? I wouldn't have included her.... and is it just me or - is she almost unrecognizable? She looks - different.... and while on a random brain wander... remember Leelee Sobieski... I always expected her to go big... but she has kind of just faded eh? Must be that voice... gah!

Who to add?

I'd say...Gabourey Sidibe, Emily Blunt, Frieda Pinto, Emily Browning, Saoirse Ronan, Romola Garai and if we are going really young Abigail Breslin

Who would you add? Remove?

All Girls Photo shoot...

Lainey Reports:All our girls
Exclusive

Twi-Hards kept tweeting at me and bombing my inbox yesterday – their tits were in a twist over a photo shoot involving Robert Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin for Vogue. E!Online broke the story that the two were photographed at the LA County Museum of Art. Emilie has apparently offended the Twi-Hards because she was cast in a film with Pattinson. She’s a “fat ass bitch” because the two are friends. They feel this way of course because they’re just trying to look out for Kristen Stewart who is “ROB’s ONE TRUE LOVE FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Please.

Kristen can take care of herself. Kristen was It before Robert Pattinson and she will be It after Robert Pattinson. Because in this equation, Robert Pattinson is the longshot. So while he fannies about with his hearthrobby image, Kristen Stewart is up to more prestigious endeavours.

How about the Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue?

Yes. The Hollywood Issue.

I’ll attach a few of my past favourites just to give you an idea of what the Hollywood Issue means.

I’m told exclusively that it took place a few days ago. Kristen Stewart, Carey Mulligan, Abbie Cornish, Evan Rachel Wood, Amanda Seyfried, Emma Stone, Mia Wasikowska, and more. A girl crush lady boner. So many of my girls. And SO happy Emma Stone was invited. Hopefully Amanda Seyfried has a new publicist?

It’s a strong young crop of female talent. And on the heels of the Portmans, Knightleys, Hathaways, Johanssons, who themselves are following the Winslets, the Blanchetts, the Cruzes, the Paltrows, the Watts, the Thurmans, and the Moores, this is yet another reason why Lindsay Lohan can’t work.

Is it weird I envision vampire babies from this couple? Alex Skarsgard and Evan Rachel Wood

Evan Rachel Wood and Alexander Skarsgard are dating according to Lainey Gossip's exclusive.

Am told exclusively by an infallible source that it’s been several weeks now. And that she flew to Shreveport, Louisiana on Friday to visit him. Skarsgard is there working on Straw Dogs with Kate Bosworth. Smart Evan. Kate has a way of throwing herself inappropriately at other people’s boyfriends. See Jim Sturgess.

Evan Rachel Wood guest starred as "The Queen" on True Blood, where she met the ravishing Alex.

I think "Eric" is totally hot - but I always judge celebrity couples base don what kinda babies they would make - and ladies, we can't hate this hook-up - there'd be some awesome - looking babies if this relationship continued ;)

Of course I am envisioning vamp-babies.... bt that is because I often blend my characters with the actors.... though I am not so insane to believe the actor *IS* the character LMAO

Though I am a huge Shane West Fan..... in his day he was uuber sexy.... amd Evan and him had a good run... but it's the year of the vamp and as Lainey said:

Oh ladies. Don’t hate. And stop with The Swears. Let the Twi-Hards own the market on the crazy. True Blood fans are much more sane?
