OUATIW - Once Upon a Time in Wonderland TS photos

I love OUAT and OUATIW has been ok so far, it is hard to tell where it will go. I always give locally filmed shows  achance, even though they tend to get cancelled (Hellcats, Harper's Island, Life Unexpected, to name a few)

We have had long term successes too though (Supernatural, X-Files, for example) and I love Once Upon a Time.

What is neat, is being able to go to filming locations and sometimes meet the cast and see the  sets. OUAT is great for that, as Steveston is such a nice town and leaves the "Storybrook" signs up in many places. I took my daughter there last spring as they filmed the finale.

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, however, is a lot of FX and studio filming, so I am hoping there will be an opportunity to check out exterior filming one day this season.

Sean Maguire to replace Tom Ellis on #OUAT

Robin Hood made his first appearance on Once Upon a Time last season during the episode “Lacey,” but TV Line reports Sean Maguire will step into Tom Ellis' role in season 3. Co-creator Adam Horowitz previously commented on plans to recast the role, citing scheduling issues for the change.

“Although we love Tom Ellis, unfortunately he wasn’t available. We remain huge fans of his, but because we have an arc planned for the character, we had to move forward.”

Season two of Once Upon a Time is available on DVD and Blu-ray August 13th and the show returns for its third season on Sunday, September 28th. It is filmed locally here in Vancouver.

Day FOUR SDCC 2013 (Part 1)

After yesterday's b.s of 8.5 hours waiting to get into Hall H and missing some key panels, we decided we had to do things a bit earlier, but still not camp out. I went to bed earlier the night before and slept until 330am at which time I got ready and went to the line for Ballroom 20.

 

 

It was worth it because we all got in and were row 7 for Once Upon a Time in Wonderland and Once Upon a Time Panels. THEN we got front row for the rest of the day as friends in front row left after OUAT panels. EPIC!

 

I will have blog posts on details of each panel and photos but for now here is an overview of my day:

What I really enjoyed about the animation panels was that everyone who asked a question got a prize, they really pack a lot of activities into the panel including the questions from fans, a table read, clips, games, big news on upcoming plot and projects. Family Guy and Simpson's are doing a cross over show, it is Futurama's last season (again) and we got a sneak peek at the Halloween special introduction for Simpson's this year! I am not a MAJOR animation fan, though I do watch with my hubby once in a while, but it is always great to see these panels as they are so engaging and I laugh so hard I cry!

Next up was True Blood..

The Vampire Diaries:

 

 

 

I left before Arrow panel, although I would love some Colton Haynes, I haven't watched Arrow and had to get some eats. I gave our front row seats to a mom and her kiddo then left to hit the exhibit floor and then meet friends for dinner. We got sidetracked from dinner when the crowd outside out hotel said Marvel Press was inside. So we waited. We saw Bill Nye the Science Guy which was pretty much awesome!

 

We then saw some Marvel people but my cell was in the room charging and my camera died after trying to take photos (it was dark by now so wasn't working) but we did see Tom Hiddleton wave from hsi car (I got a pic of his hand LOL) Scarlet Johansen, Samuel L Jackson and a few more through tinted windows and small waves. Still very exciting despite not getting any photos or interaction. Finally we went for dinner and drinks, exhausted and not as social as we had hoped... I wanted to nap but it was Saturday night, party night, and I had some celebrities to meet.... Stay Tuned for Part 2 of my SDCC Day FOUR - lot's of celeb pics and fun stories to share!!

#OUAT at #SDCC - Once Upon a Time in Wonderland Panel

I was lucky enough to secure a row 7 seat front and center in Ballroom 20 for OUATIW and OUAT panels at Comic-Con.

We got to watch about 20 minutes of the pilot to Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. I really enjoyed it. I have never been a fan of the CGI/Green Screening on OUAT, and this spin-off will require a lot of green screen and CGI, but it seemed better.

We got to meet the cast:

Peter Gadiot as Cyrus/Genie
Sophie Lowe as Alice
Michael Socha as Knave of Hearts
John Lithgow as the voice of the White Rabbit (which was a cute CGI with pink eyes)
Emma Rogby as the Queen of Hearts

and when asked about a possible "JAFAR" character, it was revealed that Naveen Andrews would be Jafar, and out he came to join the panel!

First of all, Peter Gadiot is VERY attractive and very kind. I met him Saturday night.

Also this is based on memory so I may have the order or some minor details incorrect.

A "bad boy" is in Storybrooke during the finale of OUAT. It is funny he takes a drink and puts down some money, looks around realizing no one is around, takes the money back. There is a cameo from OUAT cast. The rabbit appears and it seems the "bad boy" is needed, but doesn't want to go. He eventually agrees to and jumps down the "porthole"

We also see a "flashback" of wonderland and Alice. At one point she is being chased and shrinks to small size and slips into the Genie's lamp. She says she needs to get "back" with her "proof" that Wonderland is real (She has the rabbit in her sack)

Flash forward and back a few times but essentially Alice and the genie fall in love and the queen of hearts arrives and pushed him over the cliff.

We flash to present time to see Alice in an insane Asylum where she is being questioned about her story of wonderland. Through a series of flashbacks we learn of the genie and what happened.

Back in her "cell" the "bad boy" arrives, we learn he is the Knave of Hearts and he tries to get Alice to leave with him. She won't. He tells her Cyrus (the genie) is alive. She has a kick-ass fight scene where she knocks out the guards, uses her shoes to hit a guard and leave with the Knave.

We also learned that:

• Cheshire cat and Roger daltry will voice hookah smoking caterpillar
•  We will learn more about how the Knave has history in Storybrooke (or the enchanted forest rather)
• We will also learn more about Jafar's past
• There will be some twists involving traditional fairy tales and their own twists.
• It will be one complete story within one season, if successful it will continue with another complete story.
