I saw this over at Twilight Lexicon
Canada.com is reporting about how tight lipped the production crew for Eclipse is being. As usual, fans from all over the world are flocking to VanCity in the hopes of catching a glimpse of Robert Pattinson and other stars of the franchise. What isn’t so usual is that fans are having more and more difficulty finding out where the filming is going on, something we caught on to very quickly as most of the reports out of Vancouver have been about finding the filming sites AFTER the filming has happened.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Eclipse producers had asked newspaper websites and radio stations outlets in Vancouver not to disclose the filming locations, citing possible security and safety concerns for both the cast and crew, as well as the fans.
There had been word they were filming on the island over the weekend and that is why David Slade was not out Saturday for his birthday, the big cast dinner and/or the "Half way" party.
It was as we thought, since no cast was there, exterior shots, though I am told by a local that Emmett's Jeep was in a scene.. I do not know if this is true or how they know...
Canada.com also says:
Producers of the wildly popular Twilight movies will say little about what film crews were doing last week in the Nanaimo Lakes area.
While crews were filming at a closed location south of Nanaimo for the past week, the unit publicist in Vancouver was unable on Monday to provide much more information than had already been dug up by curious and enthusiastic fans.
"Eclipse did film visual effects shots near Nanaimo for two days last week," said Toni Atterbury with CM Productions Canada.
"No actors were involved in this and none of our cast travelled to Vancouver Island last week to film. Two of our cast members, Cameron Bright who plays Alec and Jodelle Ferland who plays Bree, have ties to Nanaimo, but were not involved in the scenes shot locally."
