More information on the Forks Reality Show

Last week we pondered what a Forks, Washington-set reality show would look like (hello, "Fork of Love") after word came a reality TV producer was headed to the small logging community for casting. Well, we don't have to imagine so hard anymore because a few details about the proposed series have come to light.

Producer Zig Gauthier told The Wrap that the goal of the as-yet untitled series is "to peel back another layer of the onion that is Forks and see what the real people there are like." And by real, he means people who aren't vampires or werewolves (bummer!).

"We're not going up there looking to cast people who have claims to the supernatural," Zig explained. "We want people who have a true connection to the community. We want to avoid people with outlandish claims."

The exact premise of the show has yet to be decided, with Zig saying he wants to hold off until casting is complete and potential networks have had a chance to throw in their two cents. Potential concepts could include a "Laguna Beach"-type series where cameras follow a group of Forks high schoolers or something more family focused a la "The Real Housewives."

Part of me thinks producers could train a camera on a blade of Forks grass for fives months and the most rabid of "Twilight" fans would tune in. But the other part of me thinks that the allure of the vampire series is its supernatural aspects and, of course, our friends Bella, Edward and Jacob. Without those integral components, perhaps this producer is barking up the wrong tree, Spider Monkey.
