Twilight producer Summit Entertainment is moving into TV production with the launch of a TV adaptation of Dakota Fanning-fronted feature film Push.
The company, which is best known for producing the Robert Pattison vampire smash as well as movies including Sorority Row and Mr and Mrs Smith, is working with international producer and distributor E1 Entertainment to develop a TV adaptation of Push.
The series will be scripted by David Hayer, who penned sci-fi comic book adaptation Watchmen, and the series will coproduced with his Dark Hero Studios.
The movie follows a group of rogue psychics who vow to destroy a covert government agency that dabbles in psychic warfare and experimental drugs, following a suspicious death.
The series will be exec produced by Hayter and producing partner Benedict Carver as well as E1's Noreen Halpern and John Morayniss.
E1 and Summit are currently in talks with US broadcasters and will share US rights, E1 will sell the series in Canada, the UK and Benelux, while the companies will split international distribution.
