Click to Give - Fight Breast Cancer

So how do you get involved?? Simple! Just click on the banner above to redirect you to The Breast Cancer Site. Once there, you’ll see a button on their page that says “Click Here To Give”. Push that button and that’s it! You assist in providing one free mammogram to someone who needs it and it didn’t cost you a thing!

How is this possible, you ask? The site displays ads of their sponsors after you click to give and those sponsors donate money to pay for the mammogram. Think of the impact we could make if we all just took a spare second every day to help those who truly need it. If you don’t feel the need to help on this, that’s your choice but I urge to you read the interesting information provided below:

Breast cancer is currently the second leading cause of death in women, the first being lung cancer. Statistics show that 1 out of 8 women will develop breast cancer. While there is no way to prevent it, knowing the risk factors and using early detection using methods (such as monthly self-breast exams and yearly mammograms) have been shown help stop the spread of cancer if detected early enough. Each year over 200,000 thousand women are diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States and over 40,000 women and 470 men die from this disease.

Mammograms detect cancer because cancer is more dense (thicker) than the normal part of the breast. It is the most effective way to find breast cancer early, up to 2 years before the lump is even large enough to feel. The American Cancer Society recommends that a woman should have a baseline mammogram between the ages of 35 and 40 years? Between 40 and 50 years of age, mammograms are recommended every other year. After age 50 years, yearly mammograms are recommended.
