Exterior Movie Theatre Set - May 1, 2009

*Advance Apologies for a very long text and no visual eye pleasing photos... I am at work and can't do much but type away my story - - - promise to post pics and fun stuff in a new entry this weekend at some point*

So last night we found out about the exterior theatre set - since I know people are going to ask let me explain... in New Moon, Kristen goes to the Theatre (movies) with Jessica - remember?

ok good,

then also she goes with Mike and Jacob - ringing bells?

good!

YES they "already filmed the movie scene" at Ridge Theatre in Vancouver....

and YES they also filmed Entertainment Tonight inside there.....

good for you - glad to see you keeping up - - however, last night was "EXTERIOR" shots, this means OUTSIDE!~

(Sorry I had to explain this about 50x last night to people.... I got slightly annoyed after the 43rd time)

The funniest part of this all is that they were at the "Paramount" which is a STRIP JOINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BAHAHHAHAHHAhahahaha - Granted it's a "juice bar" (non-alcohol strip joint) yea I know - what's the point right? But it's a nudie club none-the-less.

It was hilarious because one side of the board (Which would list movies playing at a normal theatre) said "2 for 1 dances" and the other side (used in the film shots) advertised the "fake movie" they go see....

OK - let's get to the "what happened"

--------------------------------------------------------------------

MeMy and I arrived and there was already quite a crowd. We walked right up to the filming corner and a guy in a traffic vest said:

"Are you guys crew?"
*tee hee evil malicious thoughts.... yes I can be malicious*

"No"
*sigh - too honest for my own good*

"Then head on across the street"
*disappointed - shoulda lied*

"ok"
*boooo!*

We waited for the traffic light to say pedestrians can cross, despite next to no traffic, we just wanted to obey the traffic lights, it wasn't at ALL because we wanted to stare a little longer at the happenings around us... we were mere FEET from the action - which was just hustle and bustle preparing for the next shot.... safety first - no crossing until the pedestrian light is flashing :) (That's wha Momma always said... LOL)

We crossed the street and joined the others who were piled behind barricades.

It was pretty awesome - just across the street was all the action... of course due to higher numbers of spectators (NO IDEA how they all found out - - - public twitter from people whose opinions I don't share....*ahem* ) they started to increase security and soon there was little to see but giant screens that blocked the views, bright lights and of course - - - more security.

*sigh*

Some drunk people in Canucks jerseys came by hooting and hollering - 'twas funny They asked "whuts going on heeere?"

I told them "porn"

(not too far-fetched, it *IS* a nudie bar LOL)

The truck went by spraying the streets to show "rain" and a man sprayed the cars with Washington plates making them wet also.

Isn't it funny how this long stretch without rain is when they are filming - I find it crazy!!!

We saw Kristen milling about and then Taylor with his long hair. He waved to us before hopping into his vehicle and driving away....

Rumours were mixed as to if Rob would be there or not - I guessed not as he wasn't at the movies, nor did she "see" him while entering/exiting the movies...

But we will get to that....

--------------------------------------------------------

So KStew hops in her car and they do a lot of moving about of screens, lights etc.

We see Mike talking with someone and we all sort of just - take in all the action going on - Chris Weitz was there, it was totally rad to see him walking around.... I took a photo of his director chair - I am *THAT* big of a dork :)

I won't make comments on the security or PA's as I will probably see them again before this is over - but there are some new nicknames to be had ;)

We did see "Shmuck" who was in a great mood and also "Shush" who was also fantastic and kind to everyone - it was nice to see everyone (fans) being co-operative as it made their jobs easier. We also saw "Smooth" who we hadn't seen since the Cullen House and no surprise he too was in a good mood :)

We got to watch Bella and Jessica exit the movies several times. There was mostly a screen blocking/walking with them but from our angle you could see them most of the time.

We arrived *AFTER* the scene where Jacob apparently came out of the theatre and ran down the street. Lucky Fans who were there early witnessed that.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

There was lunch break about - oh 12:30am - and MeMy and I went to Boston Pizza to grab a bite - they closed at 1am and tried to tell us after 12:30am was only take-out - - - *ahem b.s.* I used to waitress and I remember the old "take-out only" fake rule when it was nearing closing - as a way to escape staying late cleaning up after the people who stay till the last minute.... FINE! MeMy got take out, she ate in the van (and kindly shared with me Mmmmm)

When we returned there was far less action - they were sitll on lunch and only a few people were milling about (fans I mean)

Some "friends of the production crew" had passes and came to inform us they were moving location down teh street a bit so we re-located closer to that area only to be moved when crew returned to set up. "You're in the shot" they kept saying... after being moved over a block down and triple barricaded we waited.

A couple Papz were there and were on-the-ball with vehicles (at this point MeMy and I can pretty much identify the vehicles too)

Then.... The Moment Many of You Wait to Read about in Anticipation LOL

RPattz rode up and got out *collective gasp, sigh, or other reaction* - we could see him but our cameras caught very little as we weren't allowed flashes and he was too far away that even with zoom, the no flash made my shakey hands take pohtos of blurs mostly.

Nonetheless I will post them when I have time - and my videos are pretty good actually.

Then up drove KStews vehicle and she got out.

They began their scenes.... we heard the call-outs for background, rolling etc. ubt couldn't hear the actors sadly.

One Papz Guy had a 40x zoom on his video mode so I stood behind him and watched a full screen of RP and KS - - - not gonna lie - it was totally awesome.

They were filming a scene we couldn't identify - they were NOT right in front of the theatre but on the street - so I have no clue what scene exactly it was... but they both looked great (thru a 40x zoon that is)

at this time it was like 3am and I had to be at work a few hours later... we realized we weren't going to get close and based on the people that were there (fans) we realized the cast would *NOT* come out

(not that they were neccessarily "crazies", but a few of them were REALLY loud and obnoxious) so we opted to leave.

We walked by and caught side glances of the crew and cast (not filming obviously, we would have been in the shot - although THAT would be hella cool) then when we left we drove by (again between scenes) and saw very little.

Not too exciting by comparison to other nights, but still fun... anytime I am near Rob I am excited (can't IMAGINE why?!?!?) but also seeing "Jessica" and "Mike" (I hadn't before - no I wasn't at the school set until after they stopped filming) and of course Taylor and Kristen....

it's just cool to be a part of this - as a fan, as a spectator, as I person....

I am super glad it is locally filmed otherwise I would never get this opportunity (No, I don't think I would travel to do what I've been doing... unless it was Washington for a weekend or something, since I go down there so often anyways)

I am just really happy and excited that this has been happening and I've had the opportunities to witness filming and have encounters with cast and so many cool fans.... My scrapbook pages will be eternal mementos of this crazy-fun adventure :)

ANYWAYS----------------------------------

So we went home, I lost my house key (great I know - luckily it was a spare key anyways) so I had to wake my husband up to let me in (he wasn't mad - he has been surprisingly suppotrive, even encouraging of this whole adventure)

I am at work today - VERY tired..... and I have plans tonight and all weekend... oie!

No rest for Mandy.... But I love it :)

I promise to post pics, and even better VIDEO as soon as I can - by tomorrow for sure.....

I have no set leads today - nor do I have time today really to look or go should I get news.... but If I have any adventures you know who I will share them with ;)

Thanks for Reading :)

Have a Fantastic Weekend :)
